Re: HMV Buyout Saves High Street Retailer

misswliu81

interesting news about the buyout. still, the HMV at london's trocadero is gone for good. i still believe that people will prefer to shop online on sites such as play.com and amazon for best deals on games, because they do not want to pay full price for them.

Re: Inafune: Japanese Developers Are "Too Proud" And "Don't Know What To Do"

misswliu81

i agree but also disagree with him. as much as i enjoy most of capcom, sega, namco bandai's efforts and to a lesser extent, konami, i think their best days are behind them. they used to churn out hits and great titles in the 80s, 90s. nowadays, not so much. as for western developers, the indie developers are my favourites moreso than the main ones like activision, EA, ubisoft. creativity is lacking, as well as diversity of games, which is something that needs to be addressed. not everyone wants to play FPS games and i wished side scrolling shooters, beat em' ups, fighting games to name- genres that have been so dominant during the 80s & 90s made a comeback. it's what the industry and games scene needs.

Re: Talking Point: Playing it Safe in Big-Budget Console Games is Stifling Creativity

misswliu81

really good piece, which also highlights the state of the video games industry today. i feel that with many games from established publishers and developers such as capcom, konami, activision, sega to name, it appears that with consoles becoming twice as powerful than their predecessors, the lack of creativity and diversity is what is depriving the games industry. say what you like about the 80s and 90s and 8 bit, 16 bit graphics of the nintendo and sega systems, but those games had replayability, interesting characters, great gameplay and there were all types of games available. shoot em' ups, beat em' ups, platformers, puzzles, RPGs. plus, it was at a time before video games became more mainstream and accepted alongside movies, tv shows, music.

as for the whole 3rd party issue, there is that argument that wii U, wii owners only buy nintendo games. but here lies a lose- lose situation for those of us who have been blighted by 3rd party support, ever since the N64 era. when we wanted third party games on the wii for example, we got mostly shovelware because mainly 3rd parties were put off by the lack of processing power.

the third party support issue used to be a worry for me, but you know, i could care less. i am content with mario, zelda, metroid, smash bros. i play nintendo games on nintendo consoles and anything that third parties bring to the wii U that appeals and interests me, such as monster hunter, wonderful 101, bayonetta 2, is a bonus.

@SethNintendo re: I was looking at articles on mynintendonews (this site was down last night) and that site completely sucks compared to this site. There is apparently no moderations on that site and the user comments represents mainly garbage. >> i stopped posting on My Nintendo News over a year ago for good when i realised how bad the trolling was and that the person running the site didn't even bother to clamp down on the rude & troll-like comments. i agree that My Nintendo News is not very good.

Re: Site News: Happy "Nintendo Life" Anniversary!

i've visited other nintendo sites such as official nintendo magazine, cubed3, nintendojo, go nintendo and whilst i enjoy each one of them, it was this website that i signed up to. they are good but they just don't compare to nintendo life. i really enjoy the features and opinion articles, as well as the reviews and the virtual console & retro gaming sections.

keep up the great work and happy anniversary!

Re: Review: Lola's Math Train (3DS eShop)

misswliu81

i bet you some so-called 'gamers' will look at this one and go 'this is kiddy or this is chlldish'. sighs. this looks like one of those games were a lot of time and effort has been put in and the end result turns out well.

will recommend this to my young niece.

Re: Platinum's Kamiya: "No Other Way" That Bayonetta 2 Could Be Made Without Nintendo

misswliu81

people are still complaining?! goodness. the double standards are extraordinary though: it's okay for PS3, 360 owners to have games like bayonetta but they think it's not right for nintendo fans, wii U owners to be entitled to games like bayonetta, and as a exclusive?

for 6 years during the wii's lifespan, and in spite of wii's sales, we've seen some great games from capcom, konami, sega to name grace sony and microsoft systems, whilst wii got mostly shovelware from 3rd parties.

i hope wii U secures more exclusives - shenmue 3 anyone? yet the more quality 3rd party titles, the better.

Re: All New DuckTales is Coming to Wii U

misswliu81

i've been skeptical of capcom for the past 3 years, but with monster hunter 3 ultimate, resident evil revelations announced for the wii U, they're in my good books again. i enjoyed the NES game so reading this news, it shocked and surprised me and it's great a new ducktales game is being made.

that clip looks great.

Re: Aliens: Colonial Marines Seems To Have Been Abducted From The Wii U

misswliu81

i was upbeat about the wii U version a few weeks ago, in spite of the low scores of the PS3, 360 versions of aliens: colonial marines. but now, i'm not too sure.

if sega has indeed scrapped it for good, i hope they have something else lined up, such as phantasy star online 2, vanquish, anarchy reigns, virtua fighter, jet set radio. i'd be happy with that.

Re: Nintendo Renews Eternal Darkness Trademark

misswliu81

i don't care who develops it, it should come out on the wii U. renewing the trademark is an encouraging sign, however nintendo needs to do something with the franchise. personally, i'd rather have a sequel than a remake, but if we get a remake with superior graphics, enhanced gameplay and controls and retaining that dark, eerie tone that has served eternal darkness well, then brilliant.

Re: Fire Emblem: Awakening's US Sales Are The Best In The History Of The Series

misswliu81

fire emblem is one of those game series with a not so small but dedicated following of fans outside of japan and it was only a matter of time for a F.E game to be a success, sales-wise. thankfully, awakening is that game that has made it happen. looking forward to it next month, and with this current set of characters, it would be nice if the next F.E entry was based around chrom, lucina etc and is a follow-up to awakening but for the wii U.

Re: Remake Request: Langrisser

misswliu81

fire emblem was to nintendo as langrisser is to sega. this game would definitely interest fire emblem fans and it would be nice to see the original on the wii U V.C as well.

Re: UK Supermarket Chain Asda Preparing a Bid for HMV

misswliu81

i'd be in support of this idea, as long as it means cheaper prices for games. of course it would be much cheaper online, but if it gets people to buy games instore, then it means you don't miss out on the retail shopping experience of going into shops and buying games.
