if you asked anyone 20 years back that SEGA would later drop out of the hardware market and make games for other consoles as a third party developer, people would say it would never happen.

even though nintendo and SEGA were the most fiercest of rivals, they were all about gameplay and characters, such as mario and sonic. the majority of the games from sony, microsoft lack characters as good as those 2.

i'm nintendo fangirl at heart, but i did like SEGA as well. i'd rather have them back with nintendo, microsoft and have sony take a back seat.

but i too would love to see garou: mark of the wolves on the wii V.C. if not, hopefully it'll happen on the wii U V.C.

putting out game demos on the 3DS is a good idea and gives you an opportunity to play a bit of it to see if you like it so much, it warrants a full purchase.

good one on SEGA for this. i hope they do the same for rhythm thief, even though i think it will be a better game than crush3D from them.

i take it now with udraw not selling as well as THQ expected, they're going to pull the plug on this idea

when nintendo of america, europe and australia consider holding launch events such as this one, perhaps they need to make it nationwide by having each event held in different parts of the country.

seeing as not everyone lives in the main cities. just something they need to consider.

this rhythm heaven launch event sounds like fun though.

i was thinking back a year or so ago when SEGA said something about not porting generations on the wii, saying it's because of how under-powered the wii was, they wouldn't put it on there.

my vote for the best sonic game on the wii is sonic colors- can't beat that.

i'm a fan of SEGA, as well as nintendo, but with regards to some of their decisions over games and what games to release on say nintendo's consoles, they are more backwards in their line of thinking than nintendo themselves.

@16 looks like the gamegear V.C games will be made available on the 3ds V.C but not on the wii V.C.

from what i read, though the neo geo itself was originally marketed as a 24-bit console, it ran on a 16 bit system similar to the SNES and sega genesis. so it wasn't that advanced over the SNES, genesis in terms of graphical power.

the asian girl is ling xiaoyu, who is rather much like streetfighter's chun li and the pink-haired one is a robot named alisa.

i think by downloading this game and sending messages to nintendo through twitter and facebook, hopefully, this'll make nintendo take notice of the V.C that they continue to put out new games for it each week.

you could purchase them on amazon U.K website but in shops like GAME, hmv, you're right they didn't sell them in store.

so a wii sonic game did better in the sales figures alone than a sonic game that came out for the x box 360, 3ds and PS3? wow.

good news for SEGA- i played a bit of mario and sonic and i liked it a lot. it's better than the majority of sports games on the wii.

of course, i'd still like a mario & sonic platform game or a nintendo v sega fighting game for the 3ds, wii U, this one wasn't too bad and not as bad as many gaming sites have made it out to be.

for one, nintendo universe gave it 82%.

you can still get KOF collection for the wii, as this has KOF 94 -98. in that case, SNK should release KOF 99- XI instead on the wii V.C.

i saw this trailer last year- very amusing!

hope tekken 3d is an excellent game and if so, maybe we'll see streetfighter x tekken and soulcalibur 5 following suit on the 3ds after that.

i actually love the graphics and the character renders in the game, based on the footage in that vid.

can't wait when this comes out- has the potential to become wii game of the year.

and the last few final fantasy games didn't live up to its expectations.

this deserves to be as big as FF. i hope that as long as the sales of this are strong enough for nintendo to make a sequel of xenoblade for the wii U.

@21 not quite. it was made by project sora founded by the same guy who did smash bros brawl, masahiro sakarai.

@gojiguy i don't recall them releasing many of their retail games on the wii, excluding the samurai shodown pack and king of fighters collection.

yet again, japan is getting more V.C retro games whilst the west is left out, thanks to NoA and NoE. sigh.

we've been waiting for the last 2 years or so for nintendo, especially miyamoto to work on a new project and have a new franchise to focus on. because it has been a long while since the last new i.p. that being pikmin.

so it's good to know that they are doing something, and not just rely on zelda, mario etc. hope to see these other new franchises on the 3ds and wii U.

it's a gaming device. either way, i'd still call it a console because it is one.

i'd love for the zelda game on the wii U to look exactly as that demo- it was beautiful. just amazing graphics. or better still, turn that demo into a full game.

people will cite other reasons as to why in spite of the millions of sales the wii has gained, the system hasn't gone beyond attracting the casual games buyers. another being the lack of power the wii has compared to the PS3, x-box 360, as well as developers and companies not embracing the wii and supporting it with high quality titles.

come the release of the wii U, i'm hoping major developers such as SEGA, EA, SNK, capcom etc had better give the wii U, its owners and nintendo the games it deserves. they cited they didn't put their games out for the wii because it was 'underpowered'. the wii U on the other hand, will be different this time this year when it is released.

from the time the wii U is out, there will be absolutely no excuses- should major 3rd party developers choose not to release and put out games for it.

definitely a game for puzzle fans like myself but also not worth the full RRP. will wait until the price drops to £15, £20.

i's say have both options

it needs both very good first and 3rd party support- the 3ds 3rd party launch games for the exception of 1 or 2 were quite poor. i'm predicting darksiders to be one of those games on launch day, as well as hopefully a mario game to name.

what an announcement this was. as for this mario game, hoping it is a lot more like the side-scrolling new super mario bros or galaxy.

i don't care whether they will or won't change the name. it's the games that matter.

speaking of capcom, i hope they deliver for the wii U and give us more gaming experiences, especially ones other than streetfighter and resident evil.

i'm all for a xmas release- now it's a matter of the cost and the launch line-up.

hope it costs £350 or less. plus, it should give plenty of developers more time to create and develop games for the system.

it says in the article this is a beat em' up, as opposed to a one-on-one fighting game. i wonder if this is more in line with final fight, streets of rage than a traditional samurai shodown fighter.

i think the releases dried up, although kirby, xenoblade and skyward sword were the big hitters.

i'm hoping that things will look up, but if nintendo are going to focus more on the wii U and 3DS- which is likely going to happen, then perhaps the wii survive up until say the end of this year.

@kirk good point. i think when people look back on the wii, many will say the lack of quality 3rd party support and games is what let the system down. hopefully, the wii U will rectify this issue.

i'm not big on tomb raider, so it's no big loss to me.

never mind how powerful this console is- that is the least of my concerns. i'm more interested in the 3rd party support and games the wii U will receive and hopefully it will be better quality than most of the shovelware on the wii.

love my fighting games and soulcalibur would a great addition to the 3DS. after bringing tekken 3d, which fingers crossed, will be a great game, i don't see why namco should port this game as well too.

would like to see link but if not, maybe ike from fire emblem. he too has a sword!

i'd be welcome to it. needs more playable sega characters and tracks though. but i'm glad SEGA are considering making it for the wii U and 3ds.
