Re: Talking Point: Reviewing Nintendo's E3 Press Conference

misswliu81

i was slightly disappointed by nintendo's showing. even by showing mario and pikmin, i thought this would've been a good opportunity to show or talk a little bit more about zelda, metroid, smash bros or any of their other I.Ps. even if those games haven't been released or won't be released for the next couple of months.

it is marginally better than microsoft's E3 though, and even ubisoft, of whom i'm not a huge fan of, i thought their presentation for the wii U was interesting.

looking forward to wednesday's 3DS showing.

i'm not bothered about the name of the console. the name is the least of my worries and things i'm keen on. it's the games more than anything, but we will find those out later on at E3.

Re: Rumour: Blockbuster UK Lists 25 Wii U Games

misswliu81

some of those sound dodgy to me. just dance and your shape 2013? i hope these 2 aren't actually released for the wii U.

as for the rest, aliens, darksiders, batrman, ninja gaiden, tekken, pikmin 3 and to an extent the mario bros game look definite certs to be on the system.

of course, the truth will come out next month in E3.

@billy-beauts i'd rather have DOA 5 instead of tekken as the wii U's fighting game launch title.

first it was super streetfighter 2 on the megadrive/genesis, then hang-on, now this. sega's support for the V.C has been amazing so far during these last few months. i even sent them a message on twitter complimenting them for putting their games on the wii V.C service. and they replied with a 'thank you'. which was really considerate of them.

sega, amongst other third party companies haven't been consistent in putting out their good titles on the wii, but when it comes to the V.C, they delivered.

go sega!

Re: Talking Point: The Critical Importance of Black Ops 2

i don't care for the call of duty series; however, if sales of the game helps the wii U in the long run, then it's no bad thing.

the only FPS i care for is aliens: colonial marines. the gameplay may be a lot of like COD but the setting is really different and it sounds as if gearbox/sega is really going to make it as great and different to COD as they can. good thing it's coming to the wii U!

Re: GameCube is Ten Years Old Today in Europe

my fourth favourite nintendo console with my favourite being the N.E.S, then super nintendo, gameboy in that order.

it was definitely better than the N64 and 3rd party wise was and is better than the wii. my favourite games were metroid prime, Loz windwaker and twilight princess, F-zero GX, fire emblem: path of radiance, luigi's mansion, soulcalibur 2 and viewtiful joe.

Re: We'll Probably See Some New Nintendo Characters Soon

misswliu81

you know that ex-sega employee, the sonic director, hirokazu yasuhara, who recently joined nintendo a while back? well, i think him and miyamoto should collaborate together and make a new video game character and franchise.

@Capt_N I've always wondered if Nintendo was going to eventually give Samus a male counterpart, in the Metroid franchise. I would think they would for multiplayer action, but Prime 2, & Hunters say otherwise. >> they should make anthony higgs from metroid: other m playable

Re: Talking Point: Why Skyward Sword Sales Failed to Soar

misswliu81

i hate to say this but as much as i am a fan of the wii, the lack of quality third party games killed the system. first-party support from nintendo was excellent, but third-party wise, the wii just didn't have enough quality titles to keep people interested in the system long enough. instead, most of those third party games were shovel-ware.

at times, i was envious of seeing the likes of sega, konami, namco to name putting out their great titles for the PS3, x-box and not for the wii.

nintendo needs to come out in public or to their fans, hold their hands up and say, 'yes, we blew it with regards to the wii's 3rd party support'.

Re: Talking Point: Why Skyward Sword Sales Failed to Soar

misswliu81

@aaronsullivan As far as sales go... Zelda and Metroid are aimed at people looking for longer deeper game experiences and the Wii has alienated a great deal of those people. Nintendo already knows this. This is why on some level Nintendo is acknowledging the need to win the dedicated gamers back with the Wii U. >>

and that is exactly why third party support has to be strong for the wii U. the vast majority of people who bought a wii were either fans of nintendo franchises or those who wanted to play dance games. if you wanted to play fighting games or any other genre, you'd probably go for a PS3, x-box.

the fact that just dance, zumba fitness have sold more copies than a game like zelda: skyward sword is an indication as to why the Wii U has to offer the different types of gaming experiences one has had with the gamecube, super nintendo.

@DarkKirby re: What potential Street Fighter x Tekken could have had if not for Capcom desiring to make it the largest DLC goldmine ever made while spending the least amount of money and effort making it, instead of just focusing on making the game good. >> not to mention they could've put it on the 3DS, considering the huge sales of super streetfighter 4 3D.

Re: Nintendo Posts First Annual Loss in 30 Years

misswliu81

@XCWarrior i guess for the tabloids it's easier for them to pick on nintendo as they've been in the business for a long time and everyone expects them to deliver every single time. and when they don't, they react by posting 'nintendo is doomed' related articles.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Banks on Its Old Money Makers

misswliu81

Nintendo, as amazing as i think they are, i think that creatively they have to plug and promote more of their lesser known franchises such as F-zero, fire emblem, advance wars to name and make more new ones. they can't keep on churning out just mario titles.

E3 is not going to be an interesting affair, but it is one where what with the release of the wii U this year, Nintendo has to go all out and really push themselves harder than before as a developer, in addition to enticing third parties to put their games on the system.

but as long as they are still doing well in japan, which they are with the success of the 3DS, i won't be too worried about Nintendo.

Re: Frank West and Hsien-Ko Join Project X Zone

misswliu81

the capcom characters i recognise but not the sega and namco ones here. frank west's inclusion is not that much of a surprise as he was in tatsunoko vs capcom and marvel vs capcom 3, so he was bound to be in this.

i still think they should've used slightly more recognisable characters- chun li, batsu of rival schools, bayonetta, ivy of soul calibur to name.

Re: Kirby Gets 20th Anniversary Compilation for Wii

misswliu81

@hydeks you're right about metroid, seeing as it has never been a big seller in japan and neither it is as popular as it is in the west. i am still hoping nintendo of america or europe do something on the day of or be it the month of its anniversary in august though.
