Re: Konami Dissolving Hudson Soft

misswliu81

yet another video games developer goes under- i do worry about some of the other companies, who could be in danger of or may go out of the gaming business altogether; i.e. SEGA for example.

but this is sad to see. i think their best work was during the 80s- mid 90s with bomberman, adventure island, bonk, whilst the bloody roar games weren't too bad.

R.I.P

Re: Feature: Nintendo in 2011 - Part Two

misswliu81

the last 6 months of last year were much better than the first 6 months for nintendo. sales of the 3ds picked up, with the price drop and more high profiled titles released. in all, glad that nintendo pulled it off in the end.

this year will be a massive one for them and us fans, but hopefully, it'll be worth it.

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword Misses Wii's 2011 Top Five

misswliu81

well when you consider that the wii was heavily marketed and targeted to non-gamers, compared to the PS3 and x-box, it's not that a huge surprise to see just dance, zumba games coming top.

skyward sword was still a great game- i enjoyed it.

Re: Miyamoto Working On Secret, Original Game

misswliu81

@LordTendoboy

i think when we meant actual gaming IPs, we want another platform, adventure type game along the lines of mario, zelda, metroid, kirby etc, rather than something like the casual wii sports, nintendogs.

Re: Rumour: Wii U Heading for E3 Face-Off with PS4 and Xbox 720

misswliu81

@WaveBoy even though Sega returning to the hardware market is wishful thinking, i'd think the same. even though some of their releases for the wii especially haven't been great, they were a good rival during the genesis/SNES days.

and i too would pick those SEGA games over halo, little big planet, gears of war, skyrim etc.

Re: Rumour: Wii U Heading for E3 Face-Off with PS4 and Xbox 720

misswliu81

i think that as long as 3rd parties keep bringing out the quality games for the wii U, nintendo will be fine. they and us need to not worry or focus too much on what microsoft and sony do.

the media and other people will say nintendo are doomed but they proved with the wii, 3ds and DS sales, they are still alive.

Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2012

misswliu81

@James well as long as more of the quality games keep coming for the 3DS, it'll have a great 2012. and don't forget, we're going to expect even more surprises for the console in terms of games in this year's E3.

not just this lot.

Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2012

misswliu81

looking forward to all of these- it looks as if this will be a great year for the 3DS and its owners.

you also left out tekken 3d. that looks like it is going to be the best fighting game on the console or has the potential to be the best 3DS fighting game.

Re: Japanese Virtual Console List - January 2012

misswliu81

@YashaTheSlayer re: yet they still release games in Japan, and not here?

this. and it's unfair.

@grumblebuzz re: The Wii in general is on its way out so it only makes sense that Nintendo would wind down and scale back their digital support of it and focus on the 3DS.

there are probably more owners of a wii than there are of a 3DS worldwide, and there are those who still want to play classics from older sega and nintendo consoles, as well as SNK's neo geo and turbo-grafix.

for months, there have been no wii V.C games released in the west, yet obscure, shovel-ware titles are being pushed onto the wiiware and that the 3ds V.C has got a lot more attention.

Re: Feature: Nintendo in 2011 - Part One

misswliu81

i think 2011 will be seen as a good year for 3DS owners and an encouraging start that the 3DS has made, but insofar as the wii is concerned it was a bit of a hit and miss affair.

nothing for the first 6 months or so, but the releases of kirby's return to dreamland, LoZ skyward sword and xenoblade showed the wii still has life yet.

2012 will be different- more 3ds games, hopefully a few more wii titles and the launch of the wii U. this is where nintendo is expected to shine and deliver both in the hardware, software and 3rd party support for the 3ds and wii U. for that, i believe this year will be a much better one for us nintendo fans than it has been in 2011.

Re: Happy New Year from Nintendo Life!

misswliu81

this place has become to be my favourite nintendo fan site.

2012 is going to be a huge year for nintendo and for us fans- wii U release and games, more 3ds games and hopefully, nintendo acknowledging metroid's 30th anniversary in august this year.

happy new year everyone!

Re: Rumour: New App Store in Development for Wii U

misswliu81

i'm thinking with this app store it will have the virtual console (hopefully), wii U ware, as well as full facebook, twitter integration and perhaps you can link your 3DS to it and other apps.

as for the friend codes thing, it would be better without it.

Re: Disney Newsletter Accidentally Outs Epic Mickey 2

misswliu81

like the others have pointed, if they sort out the flaws and make a game that is twice as better than the last one, it should be worth getting.

nice to know also that it is coming out for the wii as well, what with the release of the wii U and the increase in 3ds titles lined up next year.

Re: Sonic 4: Episode II Revealed, No Nintendo Formats Mentioned

misswliu81

the sonic games haven't really sold well on nintendo consoles, for the exception of sonic colours and perhaps sonic generations.

as long as they release more quality and interesting sega games for the 3ds, wii U, i won't have many qualms. besides, rhythm thief is coming out next year and it looks like it'll be worth the wait.

Re: Nintendo Narrows Wii U Release Date Window

misswliu81

if they are going to release it after summer, then that's ok with me.

the key thing isn't really the date but the pricing and the launch line-up; if nintendo get it right, it wouldn't concern me at all that it is out in say november, december.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo to Show Off Wii U at CES in January

misswliu81

although the final unveiling isn't until the big one at E3 in the summer, i think the earlier this is out in the open, the better.

also, if the pricing is right for this console, then i'd expect it to sell well.

it would be nice to see the games that already destined for the wii U to be shown too, as well as other surprises they might have up their sleeve.

looking forward to this.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo’s Year of Giving

misswliu81

i think what nintendo did was great- the idea of giving away free games not only was a great ploy to get more people playing them, but the fact they were free meant that for once, money was no issue. nintendo were not charging people to download these games.

can you name any other hardware company today who've done the same thing today? or can you imagine any other company doing what nintendo have done and repaid their fans and customers, who have shown loyalty to their brand over the years by giving away free games? many would doubt it.

it would be great if this ambassador scheme carried over to the wii U as well. anything like this that will propel sales is always a good thing.

the only side issue i have, is the wii virtual console, which really needs updating and new retro titles added. but other than that, i don't have many qualms with nintendo.
