I could see a "pro" model releasing next year, but I also see that one just taking the spot of the current Switch. Same price with 64 gigs storage, maybe a faster CPU for faster loading times, maybe a slightly larger screen on the same form factor, and maybe a higher resolution.
I bought this for 32 physical on Amazon, and yea....performance just isn't there. It seems fun, but also more difficult than Symphony of the Night. I might snag the DLC if they do some performance updates.
I like all of these but only really play em two or three times a year, but they are a blast for parties, along with Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. I plan on getting 5 and 6 once they hit a sale price.
@WiltonRoots I wouldn't say TMNT is in licensing hell, as we are seeing the Arcade versions re-released through Arcade1Up, and they are a lot smaller of a company than Nintendo.
Great to see a rewind feature, and the chosen games, while not huge games, are still good for fast fun. I'm still hoping we see something like Dragon Warrior or Final Fantasy, we need at least one good turn based RPG for the online service.
They hit the right price at $199, I'm snagging either a Grey or Turquoise one so I can keep my Switch docked in the game room and have my handheld with me while I am out or playing in the living room while my son plays X-Box. Also love the D Pad. Gonna need to upgrade the SD card on my larger Switch so I can put the 200 gig that's now in it in the new smaller one.
My question is if it will let me install the games I bought via the eshop onto it and keep them on my original Switch. Would likely keep my original model docked (except for stuff like Labo) and use the portable as my new main on the go handheld in place of hauling the Switch around in a case.
Next gen Switch (the true next gen, not a "Pro" model) will hopefully be fully backwards compatible and use the same style of cart, so that older Switch games will work with next gen.
Honestly, it's not a bad idea to try to increase market share to combat the performance gap. The problem with that is that Switch is still priced at $299, the same price or more expensive than current gen. Nintendo needs to use the same tactic they used for the Wii and be the lowest cost entry point for gaming. To do this, release the Switch Mini at $200, drop the larger Switch to $250, and make a "Pro" model for $300 or $350 that includes a larger screen, faster CPU (that still works for all current games) and more internal storage (preferably at least 128 gig). That would take care of all market points for anyone interested in a Switch for the most part.
I have a copy coming from Amazon when the Switch version dropped to 32 bucks there, plus added a D-Pad Joycon (mostly for old school fighters in handheld mode), hoping this patch is out by the time it arrives.
I don't go to Gamestop often, usually just to grab stuff that's not in stock elsewhere that I don't wanna wait on. Last year I snagged Stern Pinball Arcade from there just because it was the ONLY place I could find the game for less than 80 bucks.
I plan on picking this up tomorrow if I can find a physical copy. It's sold out at my normal Wal-mart, but there's another one north that's the same distance that says it has "limited stock" on Brickseek so hoping I can snag it there.
@Kirgo I'd be fine if all we got was NES and SNES. I am kinda hoping for Game Boy, Game Boy Color., and Game Boy Advance as well. I see everything beyond as more valuable as re-releases or compilations (I'm sure money could be made from an N64 compilation of just Nintendos first party N64 games)
I'm always behind on these. This has been my first weekend off in a while and I loaded up on Switch stuff. Hollow Knight, Smash Ultimate, and Labo kits 1 and 3 were all new to me. got them all discounted and had a blast with all of em over the weekend.
I considered buying it when it was 3 bucks on eShop just cause that's a heck of a good price for a AAA game, even though I haven't really gotten into a basketball game since NBA Jam. Glad I didn't pull the trigger on this one.
I'll be grabbing this one my next payday. I missed out on the best moments of the first game because I skipped the Wii U, although I did grab the 3DS port (and was bummed it didn't have the ability to search for levels). Looking forward to this one a lot.
I'm hoping for a Switch Mini, but I want the ability to share my game library between the Switch I have and the Mini. I'd love keeping my current one docked in the back room, and using the Mini while on the road. Not an issue with all my cart games, but an issue for all my digital games. Without this ability I'll be sorely tempted to hack my current switch (already bought an SX OS kit and dabbled a bit but did nothing to get banned and returned to stock shortly after) for my current one just so I can have my games on both systems.

Re: Review: Terraria - A Fine Switch Port That’s Missing One Key Ingredient
Price is what kills this one for me. Steam version is less than half the asking price. At 20, it would have been a maybe, at 30 its a hard no.
Re: Random: These Colourful And Retro-Themed Switch Lite Concepts Look Amazing
I'd be all over that Game Boy themed one if that were a thing. As of now, I am going turquoise just because I had a similar color on my first 3DS.

Re: Gallery: Here's What The Nintendo Switch Lite Looks Like
No kickstand is interesting. It's the same thickness as the original Switch though, which means Nintendo's charging stand will likely work with it.
Re: Nintendo Has "No Plans" To Add Switch Lite's D-Pad To Future Joy-Con
You can get a JoyCon with a D Pad for 20 bucks. Its missing rumble and wireless, but if you just want a D Pad for handheld mode it works great.

Good, all games should be this way. Release them when they are done, don't race towards a date arbritarily set by some corporate guy
