The North American Switch eShop has hosted a number of sales over the past few weeks, including some insane discounts on standalone games. The latest one up for grabs is Bandai Namco's Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. If you already own it, it might still be worth taking a look at the DLC currently on-sale.
Right now, the game itself is 70 percent off, dropping it from the regular price of $49.99 all the way down to $14.99. There are also 50 percent discounts on all of the game's DLC. You can pick up the Extra Pass and Super Pass for $14.99 each instead of the usual $29.99 and get the Extra DLC Packs and Super Packs for $4.99 instead of $9.99. This sale ends on 2nd July and for now, appears to be limited to the North American eShop.
Earlier this week we also got our first look at the newly announced Xenoverse 2 character, Vegeta SSGSS Evolved. He's paid DLC and is arriving this summer (thanks, Gematsu):
Will you be jumping into this online multiplayer role-playing game? Tell us down in the comments.

And they expect people to pay full-price for a revised retail SKU with nothing but a code in a case?
Downloaded and got the Super Pass DLC. Kinda annoying I have to quest up just to fly within the City
The game is certainly well worth it at that price.
Hopefully Super DB Heroes gets a similar sale soon enough since the current asking price is a bit steep. I can't really recommend that game in good faith to people as it is now and that's a real bummer since I do like it.
I had so much fun with this. I hope we see a simlilar discount in the european store. I want to buy some more dlc.
I picked this up a few days ago, love the Dragon Ball franchise (especially DBZ), but man I was disappointed by this game (or at least what little I played of it).
Maybe it's my fault for not doing better research (or I guess any?) beforehand, but I was hoping for something similar to Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2 (a fun game BTW), where you pick your DB character and have the usual classic one-on-one fighting game.
It blows my mind that there aren’t more DB rpgs. This franchise is perfect for that genre.
Hoping for a sale on DB Fighterz's dlc then!
@Lony85 Yeah, you should have done more research. The Xenoverse series is something different. Although you still have the ability to fight with your favorite characters down the line.
I really love the Xenoverse series for letting us insert our own character and stuff. I just wish they had more fun with alternate scenarios in the story then "This villain has received a mysterious power up". I really think they could do so much better than that with alternate scenarios.
Regardless, I still thoroughly enjoyed both Xenoverse games.
I'll just buy it physically for $18 or $20 with no shipping & tax thank you.
At least this game is better than that boredom fest that is Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. Saw the E3 demo playthrough and it's one part Superman 64, one part Tales, and one part Tenkaichi all which doesn't feel like it would deliver that epic Dragon Ball Z feel, story is probably going to end at the Frieza saga again or maybe Cell but heard rumor that you can only play as Goku with support from other characters.
@Harmonie I guess live and learn as they say.
At any rate, it gives me an excuse to dig out my PS2, and play DBZ: Budokai 2 on there again.
Like this game. Tried playing it on Switch, but lack of Anti Aliasing drives me crazy.
Well worth the price if you don't mind them.
I had one one of the DLC packs, but not the other...looks like it's finally time to get the other! It sucks though, the other platforms have gotten sales of the DLC often, so I assumed the Switch was never going to get it...
I noted also another Bamco game, Little Nightmares, is also on sale for $8.99. I always prefer carts, but that deal is hard to refuse.
@Fededx Both of the FighterZ passes were on sale during the E3 sale! Oddly enough the second one had a deeper discount than the first one despite not yet being complete.
I bought this game shortly after I got my Switch in 2017. Glad I didn't get any DLC at the time. Grabbed both the passes to reinvigorate this game.
Tried to get into this game, but I just couldn't do it. I liked DBZ as a kid so much but these days I just don't get that same enjoyment. The cast is boring to me now. And the "story" such as it is, is as bare minimum as you can get.
I wish this game has more than one mode that runs at 60fps. From what I've read only 1 V 1 fights are 60, everything else is 30fps. Sounds like an interesting game though.
So I picked it up tonight; need some more time to get used to it. Is there a way to just jump into multiplayer?
I finally picked up the DLC packs, I have been waiting for them to go on sale. No way I could justify spending $60 on DLC, but getting it all for $30 is a lot more reasonable.
@EmmatheBest Yeah the Nintendo has been very slow to put DLC on sale when it comes to Switch games. I will see games that I got on Switch having their DLC on sale on other platforms all the time only to see it still full price on the Switch. It's honestly one of the worst things about buying games with DLC like this on the platform.
@Heavyarms55 That's the problem with these action anime cartoons like DBZ, they don't exactly age well with you as you get older. I also loved DBZ as a kid but as you get older you tend to realize how stupid that stuff could be, and the simple writing doesn't help either. It's a shame that they didn't have decent Dragon Ball games like this when I was growing up, I would have really loved it back then.
@JayJ It's not that I find it stupid, I don't. I just find it really bland now. Having watched many better things since I now understand just how basic it all all. But it is fine for kids.
@IceClimbers not in America...
@Heavyarms55 Yeah well that's what I meant, we've grown past it for the most part.
