Re: Shuhei Yoshida On Higher Switch 2 Game Prices: "It Was Going To Happen Eventually"

killercereal

Welcome to the world of modern entitlement. Everything in the world has pretty much gone up in price. But for some reason videogames are not allowed to. So rather than be happy they have not gone up to reflect inflation etc years ago. We now get upset that one game is more expensive.

Of course in reality this is only faux outrage by core hobby gamers on niche internet sites. And YouTube channels with very few subscribers and views.

Re: The Company That "Leaked" Switch 2 Is Being Sued By Nintendo

To be honest I am not sure what was in this for them. They work with Nintendo to produce accessories and will obviously need details and dimensions etc. It should be common sense for them to understand the none disclosure aspect of all this. And of course the potential repercussions for doing so.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

The results of this are hardly surprising. Many on here just prefer physical copies of games. But as a whole the mass market is moving towards digital downloads. And Nintendo are even making them cheaper.

Perhaps an in the middle solution like this would be better. You could by a game with a physical box, and still get a faux cartridge with it. I never sell my physical Nintendo games... So I do not really see all that much of a difference.

@Wisestfool,

I love physical media too. And have Switch games and Blu-ray's etc. But the market is moving away from the ownership of things and is as you say.... getting very niche.

On the music front I tend to disagree with you. CD's are great but you can now easily download full albums or individual tracks at CD and above quality. And have all your music on a portable device. I have a Astell & Kern SE 300 DAP and the Album art display is awesome as is the sound.

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

@Misima,

Nobody is melting down over any of this outside core hobby gamers on niche internet sites. And YouTubers with very few subscribers and views. Regualr folk simply do not see the issues here. Just look at the pre-orders to see that.

It's pretty common for a family to spend £50-£80 on a takeway meal. These items are all great value when you factor in the time you have and enjoy them. Everything in the world has gone up.

Re: Poll: GameStop Offers A Tempting Switch 2 Trade-In Deal, But Is It Really Worth It?

We have two switch consoles. A original improved battery model which is my daughters. And a white joycon OLED model which is mine. I will be letting my daughter have the OLED. And my wife will uses the original. And of course we will all use the Switch 2 on the main T.V.

I got a cheap second hand copy of Hogwarts legacy which my wife plays. So I will probably get the much better Switch 2 version for her at some point.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

@Scarmucci,

The price is fine. $100 more than the OLED Switch was at launch. For a much more powerful console with Nvidia's AI DLSS, larger screen, and dock with a fan built in. And we are not even taking rises in inflation into account.

But yes.... that could be a reason.

Re: Switch 2: All New Accessories

I want a Switch 2 dock kit for my cinema room. Looks like this will be available in the U.K a few days after launch. It will be awesome to hook the Switch 2 up to my JVC 4K projector. The original Switch looked awesome on it.

Re: Major French Retailer Says Switch 2 Pre-Orders At "Historic Level"

killercereal

@OorWullie,

How much negativity in reality from the masses that will buy this console. I mean a few online forum and YouTube meltdowns over this does not equal the whole. And a lot of those YouTubers have very few subscribers or indeed views.

Most regular folk have got very used to price increases over the last four years or so. In my neck of the woods it's pretty easy to spend between £40 - £80 on a takeaway meal. So £75 on a game you will potentially have many years of enjoyment from seems a very good deal to me.

And that's before you factor in that digital sales are less than physical for the first time on the Switch e-Shop. And the potential this has to drive prices down a little at retail. Although in saying that I have never paid full suggested retail price for a game at launch in the U.K.

The console itself is only $100 more than the Switch OLEd was at it's launch. People comparing it to the original Switch price are not being fair. The Switch 2 is a lot more powerful, has Nvidia's AI DLSS, a bigger screen, and a fan in the dock. And that is not even taking rises in inflation into account. The Switch 2 console is apretty good deal imho.

This is pretty much a case of faux outrage on niche internet forums with people in bubbles speaking too people in similar bubbles. And the YouTubers do is for more subscribers and views. They can't really push the Switch 2 leak angle as that ship has sailed. So this is the next best thing.

@wiiware,

Most people will not even notice. And it's a;ways great to have more options. Outside of core hobby gamers people rarely obsess over graphics and frame rates. Also I am nit sure why people moan about 30fps so much. like all frame rates as long as it's stable there is no issue.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

@GamingFan4Lyf,

Awesome. I ordered in the U.K on the day of the Switch 2 direct. Curry's electricals did a low key pre-order system where you did it in store and paid up front. I ordered one for me and my sister. We both got base consoles, Mario Kart World @£70, and Switch 2 pro controllers.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

killercereal

@rjejr,

Good luck I hope you get one. Hopefully Nintendo have produced enough to stop the scalpers grabbing them all. I would suggest the base console would be a good bet as many will be trying to grab those Mario kart world bundles.
