@DarthFoxMcCloud Oversaturated? I know pandemic time seems like a blur now but the last mainline FE game was in summer 2019, 3 years ago. Since then we had a DLC and now a Warriors game this year (oh and a limited localized rerelease of an old NES game). Like, is that oversaturated? Did I forget something?
Also, Nintendo's buisness is paused in Russia last time I checked. Probably don't technically leave because Russia would nationalize their assets if they do. Although I guess people in Russia can probably still find phisical games imported from other countries but Nintendo can do little to prevent that.
About the rest, yeah, Advance Wars should have a release day by now. And Ukraine needs support.
@rjejr Hm... There is a chance Nintendo just lets june pass by without any Direct. It would be kinda unprecedented but without E3 they didn't really have to do one and they already announce stuff for this year earlier.
I mean, for all that we know, Nintendo could just send a tweet tomorrow and announce a Direct for the 16th.
I mean... They are working on a new Fire Emblem, that's a given. It probably is even quite far in development too, Three Houses was released almost 3 years ago. The question is when will they announce it and how it is going to be.
Of all of the games I have I'm actually playing Pokemon Yellow on 3DS. I think I'll do a gym a day until I finish it.
I've been in a 3DS binge lately since I'm picking up some old games I wanted before they go up in price. I just finished Poochy and Yoshy's Wooly World and StarFox 64 3D. Next will be the demake of Luigi's Mansion on 3DS (that I got for quite a low price surprisignly) and Zelda Skyward Sword on Switch.
@N64-ROX You can choose multiple times the same characters without any limits. Like, you can have an entire team made of Yoshi's or Waluigis if you want.
@sullivans2004 People say Tennis Aces had "barebones content" and... maybe it's just because I found the gameplay so tight but I just don't get it. And it recieved updates for quite a long time actually. I get it with Mario Golf, that game actually released barebones and had like 4 months of updates. And those updates were so "substancial" and so "well advertised" that I only knew about the first one and I visit videogame news sites daily.
Btw I don't think it's fair saying that a game has more content because it needs more GB on the Switch, it's not that directly linked.
Honestly, recently I feel people are throwing the "it has no content" at everything. And I personally think Wario Ware, Brain Training and Mario Tennis don't fit that critism, specially seeing previous games in respective series. Like, I think Mario Tennis Aces is the best Mario Tennis game out there. I would say that's weird seeing how Mario Golf on Switch ended up but the 3DS had the best Mario Golf and the 2nd worse Mario Tennis so I guess Mario sports games are just really inconsistent.
About Mario Strikers, my feeling is that nostalgia is clouding people's heads a bit. Previous games had no story modes and the GameCube one had a really small roster and the stages weren't all that great. The Wii had better stages and more gimmicks on them but I don't think the amount of quantity on the base game is that different. Also is weird seeing people complaining that Nintendo focused "too much" on the online component? Wasn't the online one of the big things in Charged?
@Egit-kun Now that I think about it... Due to how vague this tag is. Is a game that JUST needs NSO to access it's online work (and has no DLC of any kind) categorized with this tag?
This literally means nothing. That tag was done as vague as possible due to how much money the gatcha model makes. It was as a "middle point" to avoid regulation.
This tag covers DLC, microtransactions and gatcha all in one place. And there are cases where that tag was used but ended up not even having DLC (example: Kirby Fighters 2 had that tag).
I'm not saying that won't happen, btw. Just saying that tag says nothing.
I want to buy it, I really do. But I recently went into a shooping spree buying some games that I wanted for a while and STV physical, which was hard to find. Hoping the phisical version of this game is still easy to find a couple of months from now when I have more money and (hopefully) a smaller backlog.
@blindsquarel I'm not an expert but I don't think it's seasonal. I think it's more that when a lot of people go and gather, number go up. After all, the number went very up arround the holidays.
Also I asked that question about Florida because I remember their goverment doing some shady stuff with covid numbers back in 2020. Like, making them smaller than they look and going after an ex-employer from the goverment that was leaking the actual numbers. Also because I saw everyone *** up in their own unique ways so everytime i see someone saying "this state did it the best" it's usually said for... interesting reasons.
Also, is that even true that there is a max exedous to Florida from NY or CA? I remember looking down numbers and not being that bad.
@Sonos Did you just join to say how ***** NYC is or something? XD Anyway, this was probably a subdued launch by design. I doubt it would be that hard to make more people show up for a launch of a Pokemon game, being in NYC or not. I don't know what the point of this article even is. How is this newsworthy?
I have a question. Probably one people here already thought about. Do any of the heads of these companies know what NFTS even are? Or they are just saying it to get clueless investors that put money in any company when they hear the words "blockchain" and "NFTs"? It wouldn't be the first time that happened...
If there are units, I'd probably get one by the end of the year. But I have the V1 Switch so I think I'd notice more the V2 upgrades than the OLED screen honestly.
I get KH3 being a cloud version. And I even get KH2.8 being a cloud version due to the KH3 prologue story that it has... But why are 1.5+2.5 remakes a cloud version? The og 1.5 and 2.5 games were PS3 remasters of PS2 games, don't tell me the Swtich can't run that.
If the problem is space, they could have done 1.5 and 2.5 separately (basing it more on the PS3 versions). And if that is not enough, they could've include a part of the game in the card and the rest as a download or make it all digital even. All those options are better than all KH games on Switch (except that rhythm game) being cloud versions...
@Anti-Matter It's probably due to the PS5 stock issues and game prices. The spikes on sales are probably when bundles of PS5+those games appear in the wild and such.
I wanted to buy it physical but where I am right now (Spain) is kinda hard to find a physical edition of this game for some reason. The game looks interesting and I'd like another racing game on Swtich aside from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Shame it doesn't have online tho.
Also, it's weird how Nintendo didn't really promote this game after E3. Not even in the News section of the Switch or in the Promoted section of the eShop appears right now despite being a recent published game Nintendo had a hand on (even if they don't fully own it apperantly).
@sanderev I'm usually all for "bring x game for the Switch" but for this one... It's quite hard due to the difference of power between the console it was design for and the Switch.
Although why aren't more Tales of games on Switch? There are a bunch of them that could clearly run on it.
@Anti-Matter Maybe that makes the price lower. I want to remind everyone that PS5 games are technically now 80 euros in Europe because... Huh.
That seems too much in general for a game. And smaller franchises will get hurt if they are priced this way. That's why I applaud Nintendo selling smaller games at 50 euros or less, like with Wario Ware.
Besides, Amazon has been selling that Rachet and Clank game at 60 euros almost since launch and that shows people are not buying it physical at 80 euros.
I was honestly worried that Wario Ware wouldn't sell much but this seems to be a good sign. Maybe this points Nintendo to do more not full priced games that are more experimental (while having a lower budget). It's nice to see games like Miitopia (that it seems sold fine), Wario Ware and Brain Training fill that spot on a home console. Not everything needs to be BoTW or Mario Odessey.
To me it just looked like a niche game that general audiences ignore and the hardcore one screams how it is "not worth 50 dollars" when it cames out only to be remembered 5 years later after a youtuber points out how much of a "hidden gem" it was.
@zool What that has to do with ports or Nintendo apperantly cancelling games due to rereleases that you mentioned earlier? Ugh. Also, not liking games Nintendo publishes that year doesn't mean they are suddently bad.
@TheFox Don't worry. The mistake you made is compleatly normal and shows one of the big reasons why that console failed. If a Nintendo fan gets confused imagine how casual buyers felt XD.
@zool Well... No. Ports are not only done for that reason only. They did port games that probably made money back on the original platform after all. Twillight Princess was ported to Wii U despite being the best selling Zelda game before BoTW.
Anyway, I usually expect Nintendo to make arround 3-5 new games a year.
The higher number usually happens new console launch year or when the stars allign and multiple teams end development at the same time.
And I'm discounting games that Nintendo publishes, promotes heavily or 3rd party exclusive in their platforms but are not developed by their teams (example: SMTV, No More Heroes 3, Monster Hunter Rise, etc.).
@zool What are you talking about? Weren't you the one complaining about ports? Why are you saying a justification for the Wii U ports and asking me about the reasonable number of games to expect from Nintendo each year?
@zool Ugh. The other dev teams are there, with funding too and doing new games right now.
Is Nintendo giving money to other devs to do ports and remakes? Yes. But, again, that doesn't mean the other teams are not getting money and are not developing games right now.
Remember, your point here wasnt't that there are "too many remakes". You said that Nintendo funding ports means not getting new games but that's just not true.
Ports/remakes take less time to develop and are cheaper. That's why between big games we get a lot of those, to fill the calendar.
Same with spinoffs. Did you stopped and thought about how many Mario spinoffs are? Hint: Much more than mainline Mario games. And the reason why is the same than with ports/remakes.
@Whatsmyname That honestly irritates me. People complain when Nintendo rereleases an old game but also demand the return of the Virtual Console. A service that is literally selling old games again, that was critized for selling the games at very high prices and that was probably cancelled due to not doing all that amazing in terms of sales.
@TheFox Ok... At first I thought I forgot an "U" after "Wii" but apperantly I didn't. I said that Skyward Sword should have been a launch title for the WII U (released in 2012, with HD, came with a gamepad... remember?). It would have been a better desition than what we got to be honest. Like, putting the game in HD, adding some gamepad features or something and suddently it's a Wii U launch title. It's what they did with Twillight Princess and BoTW. They should have done this or, as you said, released Skyward Sword earlier in the Wii's life.
@CromAstronomy He seems to enjoy it a lot too. He uses the "I'm an old fan that is upset at Nintendo. Oh and I have friends here too! So going to this website critizeing everything possible Nintendo does is totally justified!".
He once said that Nintendo did a lot of derivative Mario, Zelda and METROID sequels... I didn't know how to respond to that.
He blocked me (and report me apperantly) for calling him out (he took calling his points "stupid" and as a personal insult) and I decided to hide his comments while I'm logged in (best desition I could have made).
@zool Wow. So you are wrong and condescending. Amazing.
The teams that do the ports are not the same. Nintendo already announced a new 3D Zelda game in development, one that got a new trailer this very E3. It's mainly that it takes quite a lot to do a game like BoTW2.
Besides, new games usually sell more than ports (unless you are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe). Again, Nintendo is not stopping BoTW2 development to work on this. They are not cancelling other games to publish this. Stop with this stupid lie.
@zool Do you think that point of "one rerelease means one less new game" is like... A thing? Why? These rereleases are not done by the same team that do new games in the first place...
The actual explanation is that new games take a long time and they still need to release games between them. That's basically it. Taking less time is a big reason why spinoffs and rereleases are done in the first place since they are perfect to avoid droughts.

The actual explanation is that new games take a long time and they still need to release games between them. That's basically it. Taking less time is a big reason why spinoffs and rereleases are done in the first place since they are perfect to avoid droughts.

@AgentLA I mean... it's a remaster. At worse it should be the same experience than the og game since it's a rerelease.
