UK physical chart data is now in for the week ending 11th September, revealing that WarioWare: Get It Together! has gone straight to number one.
Nintendo's whacky microgame collection managed to outsell a number of new and popular multiplatform releases to get there, including the likes of Tales of Arise, NBA 2K22 and the new Life is Strange – all of which also launched in the same week.
Several other Nintendo titles can be found in the top ten, including the ever-popular Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which drops down from second spot to fourth this time around. The new physical release for Game Builder Garage, which launched late in Europe, managed to sneak into the charts in 40th place.
Here's a look at this week's top ten all formats chart:

ouch, I thought Tales of Arise would do better. Well, that's what you get for skipping the Switch.
GTA 5 - the gaming equivalent of an unflushable turd.
Always impressive when an exclusive outsells multiplats. WarioWare looks insanely fun, gonna check it out myself later down the road.
Does anyone know if there are reviews for Cruis'n Blast available?
Great to see Wario in at Number 1. The game makes money, WAAAA-HA-HA!!!!
@tourjeff I played the arcade machine a week ago i'd just get it man there's no way it's gonna be bad... Unless Sega ports it.
@tourjeff I've been playing Cruis'n Blast since Friday...
It's highly recommended from me as a great pick up and play arcade racer..
Plenty of outrageous tracks, simple controls and cheesy tunes, typical arcade fun...
The added extra of unlocking vehicles by finding keys in each track helps keep you playing for just one more go...
Well worth picking up if you like that sort of thing..
Tales of Arise is amazing best of the series so far and graphically the best looking anime game especially on my ps5, but let's be honest who actually expected it to be top? anime games never go top and are very niche in the west so the fact it got second and hardly sold any copies on xbox is a very good achievement for them
@sanderev the switch struggles to run Ys 9, it definitely wouldn't run Tales of Arise
@BANJO that's great to hear. My copy is in the post already.
I was worried about the performance but it seems like it's quite good.
Can't wait to play it!
Haven't played WarioWare yet but still, seeing Tales of Arise outsold by WarioWare saddens me
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was not on Top 10 again. 😣
Great for Wario wasn’t expecting it to take top with so many other new games out last week.
@tourjeff It seems to perform just fine..
1080 and 60 FPS in docked and 720 and 60 FPS in portable... I've played in both docked and portable and they both run very well. I'm sure you will like it..
WHO IS STILL BUYING GTA V!!!!??? 😂
Tee-hee.. De-butt..
I'm honestly surprised the game got the number 1 spot, especially in the UK. Didn't think people would dish out 50 quid for a collection of micro games en-masse.
Wow great to see Warioware starting off so strong. Excited to pick it up myself sometime soon
@BANJO @tourjeff I’ve only played in handheld but it’s a great arcade racer. Plenty of content and vechiles to level up… they have done well to give you reasons to go back and play without a grind element. It reminds me of gamecube era games and for me that’s a very good thing. Fun arcade style game with plenty to do and no over bearing multiplayer or grind elements
The only reason it sold well is because Wario is an extremely sexy anime character. Without Wario’s shameless sex appeal it would have sold nothing.
When was the last time Wario got to number 1 in the UK before this??
@tourjeff
Not seen any but my copy arrived early! As long as you know what to expect with the Cruis’n series, I heartily recommend!
Gold debuted at #38 on launch, this is a huge improvement for sure.
To compare, WarioWare Gold charted at #38 when it launched back in July 2018. Makes sense, as the 3DS was effectively dead in 2018 - only the big blockbuster legacy titles and Pokemon were selling much then.
For a game like WarioWare, it's the evergreen legs rather than the launch sales that will determine how much the game sells lifetime.
The top two are suprising, but I can't see them holding those spots for long.
But with WarioWare this month and Monkey Ball in October I'm happy enough. Keeps the childhood/GameCube memories alive
I was honestly worried that Wario Ware wouldn't sell much but this seems to be a good sign. Maybe this points Nintendo to do more not full priced games that are more experimental (while having a lower budget). It's nice to see games like Miitopia (that it seems sold fine), Wario Ware and Brain Training fill that spot on a home console. Not everything needs to be BoTW or Mario Odessey.
To me it just looked like a niche game that general audiences ignore and the hardcore one screams how it is "not worth 50 dollars" when it cames out only to be remembered 5 years later after a youtuber points out how much of a "hidden gem" it was.
...Anyone remembers Wario Land Shake It?
@Anti-Matter Maybe that makes the price lower. I want to remind everyone that PS5 games are technically now 80 euros in Europe because... Huh.
That seems too much in general for a game. And smaller franchises will get hurt if they are priced this way. That's why I applaud Nintendo selling smaller games at 50 euros or less, like with Wario Ware.
Besides, Amazon has been selling that Rachet and Clank game at 60 euros almost since launch and that shows people are not buying it physical at 80 euros.
Great game. Game was also sold at low prices at retailers. I bought mine for 32.49
Nice!! Wasn’t expecting this. Great work Wario. Back to Crusin’blast…
@jowe_gw i agree, currently £70 for ps5 games is way too much imo and i usually wait for prices to drop on them to at least 50
Has Nintendo ever explained why they don't provide digital sales figures? Surely it would only boost their position in charts even more?
@ShadowofTwilight22 Tales of series is quite popular with Nintendo Switch-gamers. WarioWare is a fun game, but it was never very popular.
Also I played the demo of ToA, there is nothing there that wouldn't be able to run on a Switch.
So happy to hear wario is doing well. I’ve loved it so far. Great to pick up and play and even better with friends.
Well done, Wario! I think Smooth Moves sold a lot back in the Wii days and it seems people want another slice of micro-game mayhem. The relatively low launch price (£40 RRP) would have helped too.
@Yosher The game isn't 50 quid... It's £40 digital and can be found for as low as £32 for physical.
Wario always wins! I'm just happy to see wario on the cover of a game again.
@Lordplops Your comment has made my day😁
I live in the US and I had to go to 3 different places to find Warioware. It was sold out! I played it with my mom and she loved it. Plan on playing it with friends too who already enjoyed the demo.
@ShadowofTwilight22 There is currently NO game that couldn't run on the Switch with optimizations. Don't excuse developers for poor optimization for older consoles.
@sanderev I'm usually all for "bring x game for the Switch" but for this one... It's quite hard due to the difference of power between the console it was design for and the Switch.
Although why aren't more Tales of games on Switch? There are a bunch of them that could clearly run on it.
A pleasant surprise. I’ll be shocked if it stays in the Top 10 though, even though WarioWare deserves the love.
WarioWare having a powerful start! I might get the game next week.
@ShadowofTwilight22 for sales, they need to be on Switch. Wait for next year's port.
GTA 5 has sold over 150m copies without being released on a Nintendo console. Who on earth is still buying it these days!?
@Clyde_Radcliffe Ah, my bad! Over here it's about €50 and I always forget it's (usually) a lower number in the British currency.
Great showing from both Warioware and Tales of Arise in the UK. Although the latter will have to wait. No Switch release means I'll be grabbing it in a 75% sale down the line.
WarioWare Get it Together sold ~6,500 retail copies in its UK launch. Tales of Arise sales were slightly behind.
NBA 2K22 sold ~4,500 retail copies in its UK launch, down 50% from NBA 2K21 and down 68% from NBA 2K20.
Warioware beat NBA? 😯
In the all formats chart??? 😯😯
Holy s-t! 😱😱😱
Never would have expected that! 🤣
@UltimateOtaku91
ToA uses Unreal 4. If Namco wanted to, they could make a switch port of Arise. They just didn't bother. Big mistake.
@TheRealKyleHyde Yeah I think Smooth Moves sold over 2 million copies. Hopefully Get It Together can do the same since it's just as fun.
I expected it to outsell previous titles like how a lot of other switch entries have been, but I did not expect it to do THIS well.
@sanderev This is a physical sales chart. Xbox and PS5 sell more digitally, especially Xbox.
@BlueOcean And Nintendo doesn't? You can't tell that since Nintendo doesn't release those numbers.
@UltimateOtaku91 Bandai Namco tried to push Tales of Arise as their latest AAA title only on the so-called power consoles. To fail to outsell the Switch-exclusive WarioWare is not a good outcome.
@Dog yes mainly because it's an anime game, when was the last time an anime game went top? I don't think a tales of game has ever been 1st, so to say it came second and really only sold on playstation 4/5 is very good
@sanderev Nintendo sell much more physically than PS and, especially, than Xbox. That is a fact.
@BlueOcean Do you have a source for your "fact"?
@sanderev You can read it everywhere.
I checked out the demo to Wario Ware Get it Together and had fun but not something I want to prioritize right now. Still congratulations, and I'm glad it and hopefully more good series get their glory.
@ShadowofTwilight22 I don't care about Persona hahaha, and they'll put it on Switch eventually, not selling enough to outsell a Switch title hahahah.
@ShadowofTwilight22 and imagine how much more it could have sold on Switch over there, the only chump here is you.
@ShadowofTwilight22 No, I reallt don't care about Persona hahaha. It seems other is aware if that happens or not hahahah.
@ShadowofTwilight22 the person who waits days for extra chart data to come back to a dead chat thread and lord it over people who they disagree with is calling me pathetic? Ok sure.
@ShadowofTwilight22 again calling people chumps? You really are something, such a***hole behaviour.
On Monday when you were arguing with everyone, your assertions were no more fact than anyone elses because the data was still unreleased. You were correct that the game has sold well, a million copies in launch well is a success. However I can guarantee that if the game had launched in Japan on the biggest console it would have easily doubled or even tripled the numbers there, we know this because the PS4 is basically dead and the PS5 so heavily supply constrained in Japan as to be irrelevant. It's a miracle this game sold so well in Japan, but that's despite the choice to ignore the country's most successful console not because of it.
Also, you're on a Nintendo fan site, if you don't like people being defensive when you decide to wade into arguments with your crappy opinions about the main subject of the website perhaps take your ***** opinions elsewhere.
