Re: System Update Will Allow You To Share eShop Balances Across Wii U And 3DS

jjmesa16

That was probably the best Nintendo Direct I've seen besides E3. The 3DS part of the presentation was great but Nintendo just keeps selling Wii Us with Super Mario 3D World. How much more stuff could they add to this game?

The only thing that would have made this better is to have a full unified account system and not just unified balances.

Re: Parent Trap: Helping Newcomers Start Playing Pokémon, Zelda and Metroid

jjmesa16

I started out playing Pokemon Yellow way back when. Then I owned Gold, Silver, and Crystal and after that I didn't play another Pokemon game until Pokemon White. I believe anyone one who is starting Pokemon should start at the beginning of any generation. No matter where you start in the franchise none of generations are really connected which makes it easy to start anywhere. The best place I think to start would be Gold/Silver because it includes the first two regions of Pokemon so it sort of includes Red/Blue as well. However Pokemon X and Y are a good place to start too as it is a new generation with a new region and new Pokemon.

@Anclation I agree that Nintendoland is a great game but I'm not quite ready to say it's better than NSMBU. The thing about Nintendoland is it is a unique, fun way to show off what the gamepad can do however its is fun to play with more people. NSMBU is great to play alone or with others but doesn't quite show off the great aspects of the gamepad. They are both great games but I'm not ready to say that one is better than the other.

@aaronsullivan I really wish that there would have been DLC for Ninendoland too. It would have made Nintendoland a much better game.

Re: Poll: Is Nintendo's Wii U Advertising and Marketing Doing Enough?

jjmesa16

Wait there is a new Nintendo console? Tell me more.

I don't remember when the last advertisement I seen was. Maybe a 3-4 months ago when they were promoting Lego City Undercover. I think it's because of a lack of the amount of current 1st party games available. With Wii Fit U, Wii Sports, and Super Mario 3D World I hope to see more Wii U advertisements.

Nintendo here is my message to you. Do you really think that families are going to go online and watch Nintendo Direct? I'd say that gamers might go and watch Nintendo Direct. Would a majority of parents spend 30 minutes of their time watching Nintendo Directs? I'd say that they spend more time watching TV than they do surfing around Nintendo's website. The best way for people to understand Wii U is to play it, I agree, but I'm not going to go to gaming expos if I'm a parent and I'm not spending hours waiting in line to try a game at a store during the special demo time (especially since the nearest demo during E3 was 4 hours from my house). I'd love to just go to the nearest store and see how the Wii U works. However when I go to the store and find the Wii U there are just videos of the games. Why not have demos of Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, and some 3rd party titles?

That is my opinion.

@VoiceofReason I agree. I'd say half of my family and friends, 75% of them have a Wii, didn't even know what the Wii U was until I showed them.

@MrWalkieTalkie Its great that it comes out before Halloween night so that parents can work off all of the candy that they stole from their kids the next day. I believe the Wii Fit U trial lasts a month so it should be good for the Thanksgiving food too.

Re: Soapbox: The Wii U Virtual Console Needs to Freshen Up

jjmesa16

Pokemon is definitely a missed opportunity. Think of how many people would buy red and blue/green. I don't care too much about trading/battling online GameFreak. I just want to relive the story of the old Pokemon games. With X and Y releasing recently now would have been a great time to release those on VC.

Re: Soapbox: The Wii U Virtual Console Needs to Freshen Up

jjmesa16

@Peach64 That is one of the only problems I have with VC! If Nintendo did that I would buy many VC games. Nintendo look at Apple. You buy the game on an iPod Touch and you can play it on an iPhone and iPad. The only thing with that is that Nintendo should set a limit of 3-5 consoles that can have that game, which was purchased by one person. Apple can have infinite devices with a game purchased by one person (as far as I know).

@Capt_N Well said sir.

Re: David Jaffe Is A Massive Fan Of Nintendo, But Thinks The Company Should Sell Out To Disney

jjmesa16

I'm am a huge fan of Disney but I'm not a big fan of their games. They should stick to movies and theme parks. However if Nintendo developed a game with Disney it might be worth purchasing. But I don't think that Disney would buy Nintendo because it would limit their market to just Nintendo consoles. It would be smart for Disney to buy a game development company just not one that makes consoles.

Re: Pokémon Developers: Paid DLC Could "Ruin The Worldview" of The Franchise

jjmesa16

Everyone who says that paying to transfer your pokemon from gen V to gen VI is wrong. If you look carefully it says that the first 30 days is free which should be enough time to transfer all of your pokemon!!! If you wish to continue the service, which will be around for a while, it will be $5 dollars a year or 42 cents a month or 1.5 cents a day.

Re: Pokémon Developers: Paid DLC Could "Ruin The Worldview" of The Franchise

jjmesa16

@BlatantlyHeroic I agree. I would have liked to see more content as I have already completed most of the game (I have to still catch Moltres). It seems like Black 2 and White 2 had more content, ie more legendaries, dream radar, white forest/black city, and a longer adventure overall. The search for mega stones, looker bureau, and things to do in lumiose city are nice but I think it would have been better to have a longer adventure. It should be a lot better when Pokemon bank comes out and we get to see all of our old Pokemon in 3D. Should be fun!!!

Re: Video: Nintendo Releases a Pokémon Series Showcase For You to Enjoy

jjmesa16

I loved the video but they said Red and Blue were the first Pokemon games to launch in Japan. However it was actually Red and Green that first launched in Japan. Green was replaced with Blue here in the US (and worldwide I believe). Also I'm disappointed that they didn't show FireRed/LeafGreen and HeartGold/SoulSilver. Those games were great and linked past and present Pokemon games together. I'm glad that they didn't show the spin-off games though because I don't consider them to be true Pokemon games. Sorry Mystery Dungeon.

Also I remember I found Blue on the ground outside of a mall so I got it for free.

Re: Nintendo Download: 10th October (Europe)

jjmesa16

It'll be interesting to see if stores will still have Y in stock as X seems to be more popular. I'll be downloading X at midnight and I'll be getting Y in December, right before Pokemon Bank comes out. However it is sad that items cannot be held while a Pokemon is in Pokemon Bank. I guess I'll have to borrow a 3DS so I can get all of the mega evolutions and Pokemon on one game.

Re: Nintendo Considering Cross-Buy eShop Purchases, But Doesn't Have Anything To Announce Yet

jjmesa16

The only problem that I have with downloading games digitally is that they are not portable. Say you want to go to a friends house and he already has a Wii U but doesn't have a game that you have. Why wouldn't you just take the disc instead of taking the entire console? If I could download games to an external hard drive, have them locked onto the hard drive, and have the ability to play them on any Wii U console, I would always buy games digitally. I have started to buy games digitally on my 3DS so that I don't have to carry around the games and and there is no chance of loosing them but that is a different story.
