@Phenzy don't get me wrong, having tried to make levels that are actually fun, I have every sympathy for why most user generated content is terrible - it's really hard!
I will definitely check your levels out - thanks for the nudge; and for the bonus hernia chat! I'd wish you a speedy recovery, but if your levels are good then it's really in the community's interest that you spend a few more months on your back.
A lot of love for Kuru kuru kururin. I don't often rebuy "classic" games but since I've been waiting 20 years for another game in this series I'd happily pay for a Switch port.
Elite Beat Agents could do with a Switch-focused sequel too
I haven't tried this yet but I really hope the story is better than Octopath.
"Hi stranger who helped me with an errand out of the blue, I'm going East on a quest that has no relation to yours at all. What's that? You're going West? Well of course I'll join you."
Why do people talk like making "an effort not to offend people" is a bad idea? If you can easily choose, without compromising anything important, why would you pick the version that upsets people?
It's not like its otherwise a important part of E Honda's character that he's a flag waving Japanese imperialist.
@Lone_Beagle I can't believe anyone has fond memories of Biomotor Unitron. I trudged my way through it because: A) I'd dropped £30 on it, and B) it was 1999 and there was nothing better to do. I clearly remember feeling a sense that although I wasn't enjoying myself exactly, time was passing.
Glad to hear reports that the loading times are fixed. I don't mind a game killing me "unfairly" so long as I don't have to wait around for ages to have another crack.
@sixrings yeah I feel like SVC Chaos has been lost to history somewhat. I actually googled it the other day to check it actually existed and wasn't just some vague fake memory.
I'd definitely pick it up on Switch if the price was reasonable. I remember it being pretty decent.
Used to love the original and have long felt someone could do something with the franchise. Pretty underwhelmed by this though - looks more or less like a clone of the original, but with graphics that almost like a Flash game.
I'd definitely pay the money for a robust handheld with the flexibility, and games library, of a PC. But I'll wait until they're a bit more of an established thing.
I'm hoping that this form factor takes off to the point that OS and games designers start to write their software with these devices in mind. Oh, and these things need a gyro.
Aside from a bit more processing power, the main thing I'd be interested in seeing on an upgraded switch would be a screen that did a better job in sunlight. If I could play the thing in the garden without squinting, that'd be worth paying for.
@TG16_IS_BAE this is all very interesting. You should tell the developers really, because their own Kickstarter launch trailer opens with the words "Monster Training RPG meets Metroidvania". Take em to school kid.
For anyone reading this who doesn't know Neil Buchanan; he's a British artist and entertainer who made his name in the 90s. These days he's better known for his street art, under the name "Banksy".
I must admit I'm slightly bewildered by the level of love for the first game. I like a metroidvania as much as the next guy but it didn't really grab me so I never got around to finishing it. The gushing praise makes me feel like I need to go back and give it another shot. Sequel looks lovely too.
@Willsy @Valhalla91 I could be wrong but I've heard there isn't actually much money in the system hardware anyway. The money is in the games. They want a large "active user base" buying software. If they can achieve that with 1 device instead of 2 then they're quids in.
Yeah I really would love to see them do this. I thought I was done with console gaming until the Switch came along. Handheld + multiplayer + a buoyant indie scene is everything I want from a games machine.
And the general Switch structure allows for endless hardware innovation with new controllers and add-ons. I can't see any reason to ditch the format, but to get back in the graphics arms race, which they clearly have no appetite for.

Re: Review: Tales from the Borderlands - A Story Worth Telling That Thrives On Switch
@gcunit if it's anything like my copy, there's a "physical" Borderlands 1 in the box, and everything else is download codes on scraps of paper
Re: Katana Zero Dev Says Free DLC Is Now So Big It's "More Like Katana 1.5"
One of the best games on Switch as it is. The most cinematic, and narratively gripping, 2D game I've ever played.
Re: After Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Another Konami Arcade Classic Is Getting A Spiritual Successor
Game play looks a bit ropy, but they've nailed the art style

@SalvorHardin I picked this up just last weekend and yeah, I've been kind of lost finding decent "normal" levels to play.
Re: Germany Is Considering An 18+ Rating On Video Games With Loot Boxes
@GrandScribe at least when adults do it, they're normally playing for something useful like money, or their health.

Absolutely not.

Enough with the colour variants; make one with a damn gyro and I'll upgrade in a heartbeat.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 And Witcher 3 Source Code Reportedly Being Auctioned After CD Projekt Hack
What commercial value is there in the source code? I can't see it being much use to other developers really.
Only people I can think of that would spend serious money on it would be hackers looking for exploits.

Is it just a question of battery life?

@Valhalla91 interesting angle. But, is that still true given the Switch is only 3 years old and both those consoles have completed their cycle?
