If you love yourself a bit of Metroidvania exploration, Pokémon-like monster-taming RPG, and nostalgic retro vibes, you'll probably find yourself pretty intrigued by Monster Sanctuary.
This game blends all of the above, with combat focusing on team synergy and combos to try and distance itself from other popular franchises. New monsters that you collect will add extra strategic options to your combat, and can also be used to overcome obstacles that stand in the way of new areas. The game's story sees you play as the youngest heir of a bloodline of proud Monster Keepers, going on a journey to uncover the secrets behind a mystery which threatens the peace between humans and monsters.
When you first load up the game, you'll need to choose your starter monster (sound familiar?), before heading out and gathering plenty more. Each monster comes with its own special skill - such as flying to reach higher places - and can help you to unlock new areas and treasures.
The game has already been successfully funded on Kickstarter, smashing its €60,000 stretch goal to release on Switch. The campaign is still live, though - with nine days to go at the time of writing - so feel free to visit its Kickstarter page to learn more and pledge your support.
Naturally, the project is still rather early in its development cycle, with a release not expected until 2020. Still, if you're confident in what you see and want to support the creators, the option is there to do so.
What do you think? Will you be backing the project? Let us know in the comments.

i just wonder how it works
Designer have Terraria.
Looks like it could be fun, so ill keep an eye on this one
I've already got a pokemon clone kickstarted so probably avoiding this one, we'll see how that one goes since it comes out early next year and hoping it will tide me over until pokemon gen 8.
This could actually be a lot of fun. However I'm only going to remain cautiously optimistic for now since I'm a bit wary of Kickstarter at this point. It seems that for every Shovel Knight you get a dozen Mighty No. 9's.
Looks awesome! Won't back it though, I'm kinda burned by the waiting I endured on Shantae, Yooka-Laylee, and still on Indivisible and Bloodstained. I'll happily buy it when it's out!
Has a terraria vibe to it. I love terraria. Maybe, just maybe...
No physical, no buy. It is a cool idea to blend side-scrolling, platforming-exploration with turn based battles and monster collection. Looks interesting, so here's to hoping they do a physical release.
it's cute, Metroid meets Pokemon with a turn based RPG style
worth watching but gotta go with @googles789 on this, no cart, no go
Not bad for a "Pokemon" type game. Looks more interesting than Pokemon now-a-days IMO >_>
If i hear 'Metroidvania' one more time.........
Hmmm interesting.

"If i hear 'Metroidvania' one more time......"
LOL !!!
AMEN to that bro !!!
Love the music
Looks awesome but see no physical options. Late 2020 oh man I be old and retired already. I already have some KS that I am waiting for right now. I'll decide before the deadline I hope.
Looks intriguing, I'll keep a watch out.
@diablo2 LOL!
Nindie Switch games are awesome!
Dang, this looks pretty good! I don't think I'll be throwing money down for the campaign seeing as it already hit its goal and I just pledged to Hazelnut Bastille, but I'm definitely looking forward to this game's release and I'll buy it then. This year has been stellar for indies on the Switch and honestly I think I'm mostly going to buy indies with only a few AAA purchases a year from now on. At least until the AAA industry gets its head out of its bum and stops making soulless cash grabs.
I've been watching this one's development for awhile now since I saw it on funnyjunk. He's been working on it for a few years now. Saddy sersh got banned from funnyjunk and had all his comments deleted cause funnyjunks admin got irked by him putting a kickstarter link in his conetent

Sarah has been laying down the groundwork for this for quite some time and did most development on his own
