The way I see it, even when there were only 151 Pokemon, there were only a few of those I actually cared about. Now that there's 256,000 Pokemon, that means that many more worthless Pokemon.
I liked the first one a lot, and I welcome the changes in this installment. While the first one was a lot of fun, and confusingly so, as it is the most lax game I've ever played, I wouldn't mind a game with a little more structure. What's the point in making a sequel if it's not going to make some changes?
@CH405K1N6 No, I'd say your parents are pretty smart not to let you play this game. It has more blood, sex, and profanity than any game I've played, except maybe MadWorld
Holy crap, man, what is it with you people and being paranoid about your Wii overheating? I'm with Link-Hero here. You all must have had a faulty Wii to begin because I always leave it on standby, and I've never had problems. The Wii is designed to be on 24 hours a day.
I think you people overestimate the average Wii owner. I did too, until I realized one of my friends and my sister in California didn't realize what WiiWare was, and I had to tell them both how to connect their Wii to the internet.
I love this game, for what it's worth, I give it a 8/10. It was never meant to be anything deep and engaging, and it's only 500 points, so how can you go wrong. I beat the game in about 3 hours, after I finally got the hang of it. It's true, once you do, there's not much motivation to go back and play it again, but the endless rainbow stairway to heaven is always fun.
I didn't really have a problem with the controls. They get kind of frustrating at times, but nothing too bad. I think the obvious reason they cut the price is because US gamers are not willing to pay 800 points for such a strange game.
I did like the first one, and I never understood why so many people were so disappointed. I guess if you were expecting something amazing then it would have been pretty bad, but I went in not expecting much and I liked it. If this one is better than that's awesome, but Ubisoft has always been kind of hit-and-miss.
@Gavin Same here. Red Steel was fun, but not that great, and a lot of the charm and appeal came from the Japanese setting that really gave the game a mood and environment I liked a lot. This one looks better, gameplay-wise, but I'm not attracted to the new setting
I would have liked it if they kept a lot of stuff in Japanese; it just fits better, including the music, but, as Twilight Crow said, that wouldn't happen. I don't know why, but I am REALLY excited about this game. I never thought we'd see it in the US back when I first saw the trailer for it coming out in Japan.
I liked this game a lot better than God of War. God of War was just boring to me. This one was so overtly over-the-top vulgar and violent that it was hilarious and engaging to the end. I welcome a sequel, though the ending was pretty final
I liked the first one a lot. It's one of those games you just put in and say "meh, this is pretty good" and before you know it two hours have gone by. If I had money this would be an insta-buy, but I'm still waiting for NMH2.
So, did they change any of the old files, or just add new ones? I downloaded pretty much everything on ZREO way back when, but I haven't been there in forever.
My dad works for the TSA, and I thought this sounded a little sketchy so I asked him, and I can tell you that this is a bunch of bullcrap. This article is based on hearsay, and what is really going on is that you can't leave your seats for the last hour of the flight, and very few flights MAY ban electronics for the last hour, but there's nothing like that going on right now.
AHEM! funny you should mention Opoona.... Yes, I find that to be the case with Opoona as well. It's not a perfect game, but I think it has more charm than any game I've ever played, and a lot of that is due to the music. I am a composer too, and being a video game composer has been a dream of mine for a long time. I've never heard of Sean Beeson, but his stuff isn't bad. I would like to see more of these articles about composers.
@Machu, I liked TP as well. I thought it was an amazing game. If they follow those same lines for the next Zelda title, I will have no objections. Of course, I also have no objections if they try and revamp the series. Windwaker did it well.
I got the first one several years ago but never finished it. It's pretty fun at times, but it's just missing something, and I was never too excited about it. I was actually kind of disappointed by the game, to be honest. If they made one for the Wii, I might look into it, but I'm not holding my breath.
@sak904 No, it's definitely not Christmas music, because it's the first few measures of the first movement of Mozart's "Piano Sonata No. 15 in C Major"

Re: New Pokémon Revealed in CoroCoro Magazine
Holy crap, how many of them are there now? I'm pretty sure it's nearing the 50,000 mark. Just stop. 151 was fine.
Re: GhostSlayer Jumps Out, Goes "Boo"
hmm...looks like it could get old fast. I doubt I'll be picking this one up
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 Coming to Wii
Wow, I was half-expecting Wii not to get it. I agree completely with Chunky.

Re: Review: No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle (Wii)
@retro that's kind of the point in this game. You're missing it entirely. It's a satire on games like that, and nerd/otaku culture in general

Ummm, you can press the 1 button to pause, so there most definitely is a pause button....
Re: Nintendo Download: 26 & 27 January 2010 (Japan)
Yay! Oh, wait...it's only in Japan. Boo!

Re: Podcast: NLFM Episode 3: BIT.TRIP Down Memory Lane
Pleather For Breakfast is one of the best from Takada.
Re: Muscle March Coming to WiiWare on Monday
Just downloaded it. It's a lot of fun. I can tell it'd be really fun with friends.

Re: Muscle March Coming to WiiWare on Monday
Well, I guess I can be glad so many Americans won't get it because that's probably why they cut it to 500 points for us.

Re: DSi XL Gets The Hands-on Video Treatment
Wow, that IS huge. It didn't look that big in the first pictures I saw.
Re: Mega Man 10 Robot Masters Unveiled
I still haven't even gotten Megaman 9, but all the Megaman games are pretty much the same to me, and I already have 1-8, plus Megaman X
Re: Aha! I Found It Coming to NA January 25th
sounds fairly fun, and for 500 points, there's a small chance I'll pick it up, but I tend to be very picky with my Wiiware purchases.
Re: Review: Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland (DS)
Ah. That explains why I didn't know it left Japan. We didn't get it in the States...

I didn't even know this left Japan until this review, because, as you said, we all thought it wouldn't.
Re: Sega: Nintendo Should Support Mature Gamers
I'm still waiting for Super Mario FPS
Re: Nintendo No Longer Publishing Metroid Prime Trilogy in US
I wasn't going to get the trilogy just because I already own the originals, but I may change my mind now.
Re: Endless Ocean 2 Comes Up For Air in February

Re: NBA Jam Might Be Making A Comeback
Man, what made this game so good was its simplicity, and that corny nineties humor. I don't think a new game can match that.
Re: Talking Point: Are Rereleases Killing the Retro Market?
This is good news for me, as I much prefer to buy the originals, rather than any form of emulation, even if it costs more than twice the price.
Re: Fast Draw Showdown Un-Holstered This Monday
I loved Mad Dog McCree as a kid. I still have that game in my desk right now. I may just go play it. Ah, MS Dos.

Yes. I'm ready.
Re: No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle Web Site Launched
SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!
Re: Interviews: Legendo's Pearl Harbour: Red Sun Rising
This one looks pretty interesting. I'm generally pretty skeptical when it comes to WiiWare purchases, but this one is worth keeping an eye on.

Re: Review: P.N.03 (GCN)
What!? A 3? I thought this game was pretty decent. I reviewed it myself, and I think I gave it a 7.

Re: Review: Just Sing! Christmas Songs (DSiWare)
I like how the sheet music in the title has nothing to do with Christmas music...
Re: Review: Mahjong (WiiWare)
"iTunes-like ease of use"? Count me out.
Re: Review: Stunt Race FX (Super Nintendo)
YES! One of my favorite games. I played this SOOOOOO much as a kid. I still have it, but I don't play it all that much anymore 10/10
Re: Review: Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (Nintendo 64)
This game is easily a 8/10. With the debug mode on it made it even better, 9/10
Re: Review: Copter Crisis (WiiWare)
nothing more or less than I expected from the outset of its announcement...
