Namco Bandai has announced that its quirky WiiWare title Muscle March will be hitting the North American WiiWare service on Monday, January 18th. As if this amazing news wasn't enough, the 800 Wii Point price tag of the Japanese release has been dropped by 300 Points to a very manageable 500 Wii Points.
If you haven't checked out the game in action, you can take a look at the official trailer below, along with a group of screenshots showing the title in action.
We'll have a full review of the game (assuming we can find someone to review it) next week when the game is released on the WiiWare service and we'll keep you up-to-date on any news of a European release.

Where's Phil when you need him?
I will be getting this. This looks hilarious. XD
Wheres Chuck Norris when you need him? XD
This game fills me with hope. Plus some other emotions which are weird and deeply confusing.
OMG i'm so happy ^^ lol
Ooh only 500, I'll probably get it somewhere down the line.
Although it'll be quite a ways down that line...
"Where's Phil when you need him?"
Ordering snacks for the all-night Nintendo Life Muscle March marathon I'm hosting on Monday!
Stuff like this makes me reeeeeeeally wish my work schedule didn't prevent me from reviewing stuff. >.<
I'm straight, so...I'll skip.
WTF!?!?!?!?
Where?! Oh...
I look forward to the review, should be amusing.

Stuff like this makes me reeeeeeeally wish my work schedule DID prevent me from reviewing stuff.
Got this when it came out months ago. Freaking hilarious and well worth a 500 point price tag!
Hooray! It's coming, and only 500 points . This game looks hilarious and fun, I'm just worried about new music, I'd have liked that it kept all the japanese songs, but that wouldn't happen .
LOL Corbie
@Infernape1000
When did sexual orientation start factoring into what video games people play? And why would anyone openly state that when nobody asked, as though it was important to know?
The only reason Im holding off until a review because of Reception claiming "limited replay vaule".
@ts: This is multiplayer right? If I somehow got atleast one friend to play this after offering him many things to accept a match with me and spectators in my house would think stuff beyond what I can think of. Still I await a review.
my eyes just got molested.
What the hell did I just watch? I think I'm gonna have to go watch some Rambo movies to recover. Yikes! This should have stayed in Japan.
Excuse me, I'm 12 years old, and what is this?
Oh... wow...! Didn't expect it so soon... and at 500 points, might just be tempting to get...
WOW! Too awesome for me ill past on this one.
I agree with Tsuchinoko-san. Except for "Brenda," I think that I might buy this game. (Besides, that game became the unofficial "theme game" for a tournament that I am entering on dA.)
@Natie31 sigh. whatever. i give up...
Only 500. Nice. Price drops are always good.
@Infernape1000 and @Natie31: Listen to Tsuchinoko. Please.
I'll definitely be picking up this one.
Where the heck is Monkey Island?
@Hardy83
No one wanted to know that. I might just get this game but I will wait for a review.
I think I'll pass on the sausage fest. = )
Honestly, the game doesn't appeal to me.
I would have liked it if they kept a lot of stuff in Japanese; it just fits better, including the music, but, as Twilight Crow said, that wouldn't happen. I don't know why, but I am REALLY excited about this game. I never thought we'd see it in the US back when I first saw the trailer for it coming out in Japan.
Day 1 buy if if it comes to the Old World. =)
I'll just stay away from this odd Japanimation-like creation that the world deemed a video game.
Uh, no comment.
.... I have nothing to say, I'm just going to leave now.
Wow, that looks so random. If it ever came to Australia I would possibly consider getting it. I'm not entirely sure why though...
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Bizarre.
This is just too weird for me.
Yay?
The VC release better make up for this, LOL.
This game scares me....I'm staying away from it, lol.
"The excruciating wait is finally over."
Really? People have actually been waiting for this? People who like bad games maybe, but seriously where the **** is Cave Story? This thing was supposed to come out May of last year.
Since CB can't review this, it will have to be Panda.
If the VC is good, I'll just pretend this weirdness does not exist.
500 pts? heck why not? XD
I'm all for quirky games like Earthworm Jim or Monkey Island, but the Japanese constantly take the idea way too far and mesh those (possibly drug-induced) ideas with dumb gameplay systems. I'm not touching this junk with a digital 10-foot pole.
i'm guessing this is made by same people who did Katamari?
Clearly the people calling this gay are just uncomfortable with themselves, and are none of anyone elses concern.
Is Bridget a man dressed in a women's bikini or a woman who looks like a man?
Wow this game looks creepy.
I would buy this game for the strangeness alone. If only my college server would let my Wii connect to it
Also I agree with what twilight said. Where the bloddy heck is Chapter 5 of Tales of Monkey island? Should have been out last month.
WTF!?
kinda looks like that bubble popping game in wii play
No. Just no.
YES!!! This is going to be freaking awesome!!!
@saivm
It was a quote from Futurama. I thought it was fitting for this news.
I will get this But i probably will be laughing more then i ever have in a LONG time .
And we wonder why people hate on the Wii.
EDIT: I removed your incredibly insensitive reference, Rowdy. Don't go there again. -Vendetta
it looks a little amazing
but it looks like fun
Wow,
it's really a shame there is so much, ignorant homophobic junk coming from people here. This looks like a really fun, hilarious, game and for just 500. no one lets out the hate on Wario ware stuff which is the same kind of fun absurdity. Even the suggestion from Nlife that no one will want to review it , as if we're they're not supposed to like something like this is really a dissapointment. What's the deal guys? Time to join us in the 21st century. I'd gladly review it on day 1.
Just having some fun with a quirky title. I think some of you are taking this a little too seriously. And let's keep it nice, shall we?
Trust me I'd buy this game because it looks awesomely weird and hilarious. But my family would bash on me forever if they would find out I bought it, so I'm gonna pass...... :-/
Just wanted to apologize for the secondary portion of my comment (#56), it was meant an entirely different way than it came out and was insensitive and not approporiate.
And no, I wasn't asked to told to do this.
@Vendetta, I was actually coming to edit that out when I saw you already had so once again, I apologize for it.
Pssh, this is the same kind of awesome weirdness from games like Katamari, Feel the Magic, and Cho Aniki. If you can't handle the subject matter (which is really just for laughs) then, like a game that may be too violent, etc for your tastes, don't play it. Myself, I will be downloading this ASAP. It's quirky as hell and looks like fun and a lot of laughs.
I think I'm the guy on the left
wowsers u just gotta love it whats next lol
Hah, looks hilarious. Wouldn't be surprised if 90% of the population don't "get" it though. Some people need to lighten up!
360 and PS3 get Bayonetta, we get Muscle March.
@Jakob: Shhh! Don't make them jealous of Wii owners
Ohhhh, it's gonna be a fun day here at NintendoLife. Can't ya just FEEL it?
@Rowdy, 56 & 61: I lol'd I admit it... but yeah, that was a bit extreme. Coming back to clear it up was a standup move on your part. Your slate's clean, buddy.
Riiiiiiiiiight........................Ok, no I don't get it at all. But I am almost certain that we were not meant to. American culture is very different and quite frankly needs to lighten up and open it's collective mind a bit more. I think that if I "got it" it would not be as intriguing. I'll look into the game though and wait for a review
Well, I guess I can be glad so many Americans won't get it because that's probably why they cut it to 500 points for us.
@Corbie, Phil: I'd be more than happy to handle this review!
This also makes me wonder if Phil's gonna host his Mario Kart competition to gift this game to someone like he promised?
@Chunky: One could only hope.
Um
Reminds me of WarioWare for some reason.
For all the guys skipping on this because they think it'd be "gay" to play it: It's the fact that all the characters are huge, over-the-top muscle bound men that MAKES IT FUNNY! The whole scenario of a bunch of burly guys running around Benny Hill style is just plain hilarious! It looks quirky, it looks entertaining, and it looks like good arcade-style fun.
With this game coming, I wonder when Namco will give us a Wii Katamari!
The iPod Katamari uses accelerometers and the Wii remote sideways would do it much better. I may get this just because it is like a crazy Japanese game and I love them. The only game I play on my PS2 are the Katamari games. And Katamari Forever is ALMOST enough to make me want a PS3. A Wii one would be great! I do have and love The Munchables, though. Close enough for now.
I don't understand what is "gay" about this game unless you have some deep-seated desires being stirred that you're afraid to acknowledge -- in which case it's not the game, honey, it's you.
Anyway, 500pts. does seem more appropriate for this though I have no regrets about 800pts. It is a novelty arcade game that was never put into general circulation, but it is definitely zany, fun and challenging. You won't spend hours playing it, but the fact this got localised at all amazes me.
@Grenworthshero: I don't recognise the track in that clip, but it does seem to have some Japanese in it; I'd need to buy it twice to know for sure -- I like the game, but not that much!
No thanks on this game, and this is coming from one that bought (and liked) Cho Aniki.
That's funny, I passed on Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball because it was too straight
On topic: THERE'S A POLAR BEAR IN IT!
A Mardi Gras game?!
I wouldn't call the game gay but I do find over-muscular bodies of either gender uncomfortable to look at. Its just unattractive to me. Especially when pics of them are pretty much aimed to be pin-ups for the opposite gender to drool over. Like in the pic at the top here.
The game is alledgedly terrible which may be what convinced the developers to drop the price but considering how receptive many North Americans were towards recieving the Tingle game for DS it's not surprising that the price has been lowered to try and attract more buys. I wonder if the price drop will also apply to the usually more open minded European market when the game get's released there.
@Ren I definitley agree. This game looks very funny and entertaining.
@BlueFlameBat: I understand. There are tons of minigames in WW which are as quirky as this game.
@Bass X0: considering how often games display images of women with chests so large it's a miracle they're able to run and jump without obvious pain (or without striking themselves in the face), i find myself able to bear your discomfort (and the discomfort of everyone else complaining in this thread) with enormous fortitude. :3
Well i still think this is "totally and completely awesome"-)LOL!
@theblackdragon: LOL! Right on!
This does look awesomely insane.
I'll pick this one up as long as the reviews are decent.
Just downloaded it. It's a lot of fun. I can tell it'd be really fun with friends.
Epic!

It's not just that's it's so weird. It's the weirdness mixed with the dumb gameplay (as explained by the coverage of the game here). It's just way too simple and doesn't look very fun. If I'm going to watch a weird video, I'll go to Youtube.com for free.
DO WANT.
lol i got this game just an hour ago , funny and seems pretty challenging.
Hey, at least it's not Cho Aniki...
Wow! This just gives me the creeps...
After playing this I can see why they decided to cut the price down to 500 points. The controls in this game are totally broken. The motion based gestures are way too sensitive and unresponsive. It simply ruins the game. Too bad because I was really looking forward to this game.
I didn't really have a problem with the controls. They get kind of frustrating at times, but nothing too bad. I think the obvious reason they cut the price is because US gamers are not willing to pay 800 points for such a strange game.
This game is insane and fun for short bursts and to show people. I didn't have any problems with the controls.
