Re: Review: Chrono Trigger (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)

I can't agree with this score, because this game is guilty of the "boss with 1000 forms" which is my biggest peeve in video games. Yes, yes, I know you can skip a lot of Lavos' forms and fly straight to him, but if you actually want to beat the game as intended, there are WAY too many forms to deal with and it takes over an hour of annoying battling against a boss that isn't even fun or difficult.

WiiWare may "suck" from a developer's viewpoint, but the fact remains I like games on WiiWare loads better than those on PSN. I don't know anything about XBLA, so I can't say much about that. Though a game featuring a wiener dog in a fez would be freaking awesome.

It's all a matter of preference. I don't know about the staff here, but I have a PS3 and I still play the Wii a LOT more than the PS3

Re: Talking Point: Your Favourite Nintendo Christmas Memories

Getting my Nintendo 64 is definitely my best gaming-related Christmas memory. That system changed my life. I started to become obsessed with the NFL, Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers, because of NFL QB Club 1999, and Ocarina of Time started my obsession with Koji Kondo and video game music in general. I got into writing because I wanted to write an epic like Ocarina of Time (which was pretty epic at age 10). That system is what cemented my adolescent Nintendo fanboyism, and started my real obsession with gaming in general. I had played a lot of NES and SNES back when they were the only things available, but not until I got the N64 did I really get into gaming. Many of the games I played back then played a big part in forming my personality.

Hmm, I was wondering if this was supposed to be a good game. It seemed it was sold out at my local Wal-Mart, much to my surprise. Unless they just haven't stocked it yet, and there's an empty space where it should be.

Yeah, the first one was pretty...not-good. I'm not going to say it was bad, but I REALLY regret spending 50 bucks on that game. I've barely played it since I bought it. I am excited to hear there might be a sequel, but, I think this time I'll just wait to see reviews before I spend money on it.
