IGN didn’t praise this game as much. 6.5 from them...ouch. I love platformers but very hesitant about this one. It sounds very short and uninteresting. Shame.
Very strange, considering a Nintendo audience is perfect for a 3D platformer. It’s as if the developer is pissed at Nintendo for some reason. Well, it will cost them sales if they remain stubborn like this.
@Einherjar Well, let’s say this...we’ll see what the final review is when it comes out. They already said the AI aspect of the Allies is good. So maybe it will be confirmed with a solid review, and it will be phenomenal. Then you might be enticed. 😉
@Einherjar Don’t get me wrong, some games that force you to play with multiple characters can be a drag. But, if you read the article, it states “The AI controlling your partners is intelligent and easy to work with, which will be a boon to those that prefer a single-player experience.” I trust what they are saying here. Don’t you trust your NintendoLife writers?
@chtan69 If you read the article, it states you can play entirely in single player mode. The allies that join you will be controlled by AI and are very reliable.
@KIRO Never played Kirby? They are great games man...there are so many you can go back and play. As a Dad gamer myself, my son and I played Return to Dreamland on Wii like a million times. We love that game and still play it. I recommend most Kirby games, especially that one to play with your kids, and this one looks like it won’t disappoint.
@ShadJV I’m a huge fan of Nintendo platformers. Loved them ever since I got my hands on an NES in 86. So it’s an insta-buy for me, especially since I loved Wooly World so much. Can’t wait for it! But not everyone feels the same way, and I respect that.
@ShadJV certainly didn’t seem like a joke. It honestly seemed like you didn’t know what it was and you were making assumptions. Anyway, it should be a good game.
@MeloMan just check out the existing gameplay online. It’s a different style where you can completely flip the environment to see new paths. It’s cool and unique.
@PorllM You mean successor. I agree it won’t be until future consoles when the tech is more reasonably priced. And it really doesn’t matter to Nintendo and their gamers anyway, they’ve always been behind when it comes to specs. It’s all about software for them, while providing a unique experience.
Played this on PC and really enjoyed it. It’s underrated in my opinion and better than a 6. I would say 7.5 is more like it. Very funny and it’s a blast when the zombies splatter gore all over the place. I recommend it for the short bursts of fun action. And the sequel to this game is coming out soon and will enable you to shoot diagonally, which I’m sure will improve overall gameplay.
We need some sort of sale here on the Switch in the US. Prices are just too high right now, but I understand the demand is there and they have been selling well despite that. I just need to wait for some sort of sale to justify the purchase.
Galaxy 2 is my all time favorite Mario game, but I do think it depends on which Galaxy game you played first, which probably has an influence on your preference. I can't comment on Odyssey, but the Galaxy games, especially 2, are pure 3D platforming perfection.
@NinChocolate No worries, just fire up your PC, do a little downloading, and you can play every SNES and NES game on it for free. Why waste time waiting to buy something you may never find?
@retro_player_22 Let's not go overboard here. If I want to play a game that's 30 years old and hasn't been on sale anywhere in forever, I don't feel that it's a big deal to play it on your PC for free. Developers aren't making money on it because it isn't sold anyway, so who cares. And there aren't any emulator police out there arresting people, so go ahead, play away. That's just my opinion, and you don't have to agree with it, which is fine by me.
I'll stick to playing these games on my PC for free since the SNES Mini will be non-existent in stores, then Nintendo will inexplicably discontinue it anyway.
The original with Mike Tyson was awesome. Tyson was tough at first but once you memorized his moves he wasn't that bad. I actually found myself having more trouble with Mr. Sandman from time to time. So many memories with this game...just awesome.
@KoopaTheGamer Don't worry, if I play a game on the computer, it's a game that hasn't been sold in over 25 years. Otherwise I buy all Nintendo products and support them fully.
@NEStalgia True, but you can buy a gamepad that will perform just fine...plus you can play all 700 NES games for free instead of just 30! Not a bad trade off to me!

@Einherjar @Muddy_4_Ever Guys, you can play completely solo...the Allies that join you will be controlled by AI. It is NOT forced multi-player.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Gotta keep grinding in Mario Odyssey.

@Prof_Yoshtonics Return to Dreamland was great. If you still have a Wii or Wii U, you should pick it up cheap somewhere. It’s a blast.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE For this one, it doesn't matter how long it is. It is still one of the best games I've ever played. You won't regret it if you play it.

@Kimyonaakuma It is better. I have it on PC and it's one of the best games I've ever played. You gotta buy it.
