Re: Looks Like Some People In The West Are Playing The Mario Kart 8 DLC Early

Glad to hear you just recently got a hold of MK8D! You are right about being somewhat apprehensive of what new features will be added/dropped with the next instalment… I heard some people say MK9 is already pretty much finished and Nintendo just recently changed their minds about postponing it to next gen seeing how MK8 is selling so well on Switch still 5 years later. I don’t know if it’s true but I can imagine how that makes a lot of sense from a business point of view and in the meantime I will probably give those new tracks a shot too

@Not_Soos I played it on PS4 pro and I think it looked a lot better beyond even just resolution but I agree Nintendo probably can’t do much more with current hardware and I don’t blame them altogether… I would rather a slightly underpowered Switch than a louder and heavier machine like the Steamdeck but hopefully next gen will be at least one Tflop

@Late I may be in the minority but I have been playing MK8 for so long I feel it’s visuals fairly dated compared to the competition (such as CTR) but then again waiting until next gen might help with the graphics and I also long for more single player content especially some sort of campaign. But I am sure there are loads of things other people would want out of a MK8 successor if anything I am shocked so many people are content playing the same game for so long (but then again lmao who had a Wii U?) I wish these new tracks came with new racers as well… anyways glad so many people are excited for these new tracks.

Re: Soapbox: As A Recent Pokémon Convert I'm Excited For Scarlet And Gen 9

I have never played anything Pokémon outside of a couple hours of Let’s Go Pikachu and Sword which I both disliked. The world, combat, everything felt so slow and boring to me. I like the direction they have taken with Arceus although I prefer a more modern setting so this new announcement had me excited to give the franchise another try.

Re: Random: This LEGO Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Figure Could Make It To LEGO Ideas' Final Round

@Nintendude78 @Preposterous I don’t know why they get refused but I thought it was LEGO rather than Nintendo I mean there are plenty of licensed Nintendo toys otherwise and even multiple Mario LEGO which seem pretty successful even if too gimmicky for my tastes… either way I do hope we get more Nintendo licensed LEGO sets whether through Ideas or LEGO designers I don’t care just give me more!!

Re: Round Up: The Pokémon Legends: Arceus Reviews Are In

dil_power

@StarPoint funny you should say that… I would like the art style normally for any other video game but I find it really weird to have a Pokémon game set in any time period other than modern. I’m hoping the next mainline game evolves the mechanics introduced in Arceus and returns to a modern setting.

Re: Xbox Boss "Trusts" Nintendo To Not Do Anything That Would Harm The Games Industry

@HamatoYoshi interesting. I do have to say my excitement decreased over time too but I do think it’s in part my taste becoming more defined over time. Although I am nearly 40 I only started gaming in 2010 but still gaming changed a lot since then. I grew to despise games as a service among others. I gotta say although initially I feared good single player RPGs would be killed off by cheap mobile games and multiplayer games, that hasn’t happened at all and probably never will. If anything there are more options today than ever before! You can still find brand new releases of excellent quality 8 bit/16 bit games on the indie side, there are still top quality rpgs and single player games… on top of all those other mobile and multiplayer games. Essentially there are more gamers than ever before and more game diversity as well and I feel as though you can still find quality games catering to your own taste if you look for it

Re: Xbox Boss "Trusts" Nintendo To Not Do Anything That Would Harm The Games Industry

@HamatoYoshi why? I think in a way services like game pass is the most affordable way to play games ever given to gamers. And it’s available technically to all of us without purchasing a new device. I mean if you don’t have an Xbox console you may have a decent pc and if you don’t even have that you can stream it all… on your phone… I feel gamers have never had these many options but I would be curious to hear your take on it.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Lining Up A Huge Year Of Gaming In 2022

dil_power

@NielsNL I never got into Pokémon but I am really curious about Arceus. I would looove a sequel to Mario Odyssey though but I am not too sure given some are already expecting the release date of BotW to be holidays 2022. I would totally buy them both day one though. Keeping an eye out for the reviews of Arceus.

Re: Talking Point: Will Nintendo Abandon The Switch Concept For Its Next Console?

dil_power

@BloodNinja I gotta say I agree with you about not buying a new Nintendo console without backwards compatibility although I would probably still end up buying it for the exclusives… with the steam deck around the corner I feel as though I should stop buying 3rd party games on the switch anyway and just get the nicer looking/performing versions on PC which are cheaper anyway and forever backwards compatible. I have my fingers crossed though the Switch successor will at least play switch games as all their handhelds did (DS played GBA, 3DS played DS, I think GBA original models played GB games? Wii played GameCube and Wii U played Wii… it’s not stellar but it’s still encouraging)

Re: Nintendo Scores Another Victory In Its War Against Switch Piracy

dil_power

@sanderev emulation is not the same as piracy... I mean technically Mario Sunshine and Mario 64 are emulated. Granted the games are licensed by Nintendo but I have no problem if someone wants to use their own licenses of older games and run them on emulators on newer platforms... Although I agree most people probably dont and just pirate them. Personally the only games I would emulate are the SNES ones and I am very happy with the way nintendo handles them with Switch Online sub. (I love the save feature which is the main reason why I would otherwise use an emulator - because I suck at early mario games)

Re: Nintendo Discounts Three Major Mario Games On Switch For A Limited Time (Europe)

dil_power

@Clyde_Radcliffe I have tried Donkey Kong and although I will probably buy at some point the difficulty was a little steep for the kind of gamer I am... I also like the visual simplicity of NSMBUD where it's easier to see what is going on vs the amazing but crowded screen on DKTF. I liked Rayman Legends better than DK though because I felt it was just as pretty if not more and more accessible.
