This expansion pack move really put the nail in the coffin for me. I don't plan on buying anymore Nintendo consoles or pay for any more services until they get their act together and stop being greedy. Boy do I sure miss Iwata.
I don't understand why people care complaining about the price. It's three incredible games with pretty slick improved visuals (IMO). Yea they are old but extremely high quality titles if you ask me.
It's not even the price that annoys me here - it's the convoluted method of adding this content. N64, Animal Crossing, and Genesis games....like they don't even go together. Why does the online service have an "expansion pack"? Why is not one all inclusive service? I how does a billion dollar company have the worst approach to online marketing in 2021? Nintendo needs a shake up big time. This is just pathetic and I'm not getting the next console unless they get it together.
Wow this is bad. I could see if the service was improved with better features, but not just for old 64 and genesis games (which you can get on the eshop). I'm really disappointed in Nintendo these days.
They almost had me until they announced the N64 and Sega games would be locked behind a price increase. Their online strategy is so convoluted and backwards. Wake up Nintendo!
I'll never forget picking up my Gamecube on launch day. I woke up at 3am and drove to Walmart to wait for them to open. On the way I witnessed a crazy meteor shower.
I really can't wait until I have some time to get into this. I never finished the Wii version because I just got frustrated with the controls and hand holding crap. Plus it looked like a blurry mess on Wii.
@Zeldafan79 I don't mind the annual 20 bucks, but put some more effort into the service. Same with the E Shop. I wish they would make online a priority and not a tacked on feature.
@Dezzy70 Yea man, Nintendo is really doing the bare minimum. They know people will buy up each iteration of the Switch and accessories, no matter how lackluster of an upgrade. I don't like that. Between Nintendo being sleazy and Sony being moronic, Xbox is looking like a future purchase for me. They offer the best all around service and most content.
Yea man...it's 2021. Nintendo has no excuse at this point. Their approach to online gaming is maddening. I guess it's great for children since their "service" is more restrictive, but for the rest of us it's incredibly frustrating.
It wasn't awful but it also wasn't great. A more in depth look at BOTW 2 or some Metroid Prime 4 footage would have sealed the deal. But we didn't get that. Microsoft/Bethesda was the best part of E3 this year.
I knew it wasn't coming until 2022 when the first teaser was shown. Blah blah is uses the same assets blah blah. Nope this is a main Zelda title...this kind of game takes forever to be complete.
@ZeldaNX Gotta take into account that the pandemic slowed them down tremendously, since apparently Nintendo does not let many employees on projects from home. That's why I'm not too upset about the content of the direct...2020 wasn't normal.

Re: Random: Oh No, People Don't Recognise GameCubes Any More
I remember driving to Walmart on launch day at 3am to wait in line for Gamecube.
Re: Soapbox: The Switch Online Expansion Pack Is Great Value – If You Love Animal Crossing
They should have just called it "The Animal Crossing Pack for NSO Family Memberships" then.
Re: Exclusive: Mobile Smash Hit 'Retro Bowl' Will Bring American Football To Switch
I just tried it and I'm not into the auto-defense thing. Everything else is really cool though.

Re: Top-Down Vehicle Combat Game 'Gearshifters' Speeds Onto Switch Tomorrow
Needs to be UP/DOWN perspective. Not LEFT to RIGHT. What a terrible design choice.

Re: Soapbox: 4 Years On And Switch Finally Got Bluetooth Audio, So Voice Chat Next?
@Arkay You can already do that with the NSO app. It's chaos.
Re: Soapbox: 4 Years On And Switch Finally Got Bluetooth Audio, So Voice Chat Next?
Voice chat for some games would be nice, especially if they make it convenient to use like other services.

@mattmanvsuperman Same here. We've heard about this for three years now. Let me know when it actually gets announced.
Re: Feature: Game Boy Games We Probably Won’t See On Nintendo Switch Online
I don't expect to see more than 25% of the GB or GBA library, since that's about what we got with SNES and NES.
Re: Review: Quake - The Definitive Version Of An Iconic, Flawless FPS
Just started playing through it yesterday. Holds up incredibly well - yes very addictive!
Re: Feature: 20 Super NES Classics Nintendo Should Bring To Switch Online
So someone help me. Is the problem that they can't add these games due to licensing, or that they won't add these games due to licensing?
Re: Feature: 20 Super NES Classics Nintendo Should Bring To Switch Online
They should seriously add Base Wars. Still my fav baseball game ever.
Re: Community: What Was Your First Ever Nintendo Game?
I remember getting the NES, Super Mario Bros/Duckhunt cartridge, and a light gun on Christmas morning back in the 80s. My first Nintendo experience.

Re: Random: 'Switch Vs Steam Deck' Memes Are A Thing Now, Apparently
Only thing bad about the Steam Desk is that its bulky as hell. Switch is at least more portable and designed well.

My childhood right here. Instant purchase.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch OLED Model Looks Lovely, But May Also Disappoint
I'm actually kind of glad the improvements were lackluster. Saves me $350 this year.

Re: The E3 2021 Awards Winners Are In, But Nintendo Lost Out
@tanaka2687 Same for me. I want a series x now. Lots of good stuff on the way for it. Elden Ring and Halo especially
Re: Roundup: Here's What Was Revealed In Nintendo Direct E3 2021
@WhiteTrashGuy You're right - The pandemic did screw up development for many games.
Re: Roundup: Here's What Was Revealed In Nintendo Direct E3 2021
Slightly underwhelming.
Re: Roundup: Here's What Was Revealed In Nintendo Direct E3 2021
It was everything I didn't expect aside from Breath of the Wild 2 footage. 2D Metroid, Advance Wars, and Wario Ware look good.
Re: New Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Footage Shown, Aiming For A 2022 Switch Release
I knew it wasn't coming until 2022 when the first teaser was shown. Blah blah is uses the same assets blah blah. Nope this is a main Zelda title...this kind of game takes forever to be complete.
Re: Nintendo Plugs Zelda: Skyward Sword HD With New "Button-Only" Control Scheme
@Shiiva They would have to alter the entire game for that. Most of the enemies and puzzles rely on hitting things in a precise direction.
Re: Nintendo Plugs Zelda: Skyward Sword HD With New "Button-Only" Control Scheme
@Dezzy This might be it for new additions. HD and a button only scheme. Of course we may find out some QoL improvements after release.
Re: Chilled-Out Mech Adventure Stonefly Soars Onto Switch This Summer
Gotta say this is one of the coolest games I've seen in awhile.
Re: Feature: Forget Saving Hyrule, Zelda: Ocarina of Time Is All About Fishing For Me

Re: Introducing Pokémon Legends: Arceus, An Open-World Prequel To Diamond And Pearl

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Tops "Best Seller" Chart On Amazon, As Pre-Orders Sell Out
This is why Nintendo charges so much...because tons of people will pay.
