@spottedleaf Thank you for sharing this! I've been trying to remember what the concept was called. You are absolutely right that people are in danger, including myself, by right wing aggressors.
Video Games have been not only an escape, but a place to explore and express myself safely without repercussions from hateful right wingers. Being able to read about games that not only allow for that kind of self-expression, but celebrate it, is so important!
RCT Classic was ported to PC as well and does support mouse usage on that version like the original PC versions of the games did.
I'm more interested in the possibility of getting the DS and maybe 3DS as NSO apps. There are so many games that just work better with being able to use a mouse over even the stylus!
@-wc- The number of times I experienced this practice to get rid of me because I have autism is astounding. The fact that it's also a thing in Japan is beyond disgusting as well as heartbreaking.
Gameboy Color and N64 were my first Nintendo consoles, so both are special to me. The GBC won out because of the transparent plastic. 3DS is 2nd place for handhelds due to the reasons others have given above, with the GBA being in 3rd. SNES is 2nd for consoles, followed by the NES.
@Markiemania95 Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 2 are both better games. 3 gets better toward the end, which does flow nicely into Knuckles, but as a solo title it's not great.
Ice Cap is my favorite, but Hydrocity Zone, especially Act 2, is absolutely great. When I was a kid, I hated Hydrocity Zone. I rarely made it to the miniboss, and when I did make it that far the mad-dash run that begins Act 2 was where my game usually ended.
Adapting Ocarina of Time would be a massive mistake for the backlash it will receive when it doesn't live up to the game. There is literally no way that it wouldn't be slammed. The Mario movie did it right by taking the good parts of the Mario universe and then doing their own thing with those parts.
@Croctopus The PlayStation brand being highly successful in spite of Nintendo trying to kill it 30 years ago does speak pretty loudly for there to not be a reason for hard feelings.
The ones I usually go back to are Cities: Skylines and Starbound, though it's been a while since I played the latter. Both of those games are comforting. I get the feeling that Starfield is going to fill that niche as well with how much I'm still enjoying it.
This is the first time I'm actually glad I didn't finish the Game Dev degree I was going for. The school was teaching Unity, which means that if I'd continued, much of that gained knowledge would now be useless.
@Don They take a while to ship, which isn't really a lesson so much as a given since they don't start manufacturing until they have the final count of orders.
@Axecon I would absolutely love to revisit Kalos as end-game content, ala Gen 2. One of the reasons Gen 2 (and its remake) has remained my favorite is due to the unlocking of the entirety of Gen 1's region.
There's references to Sonic 2 on Genesis as well. Sky Chase Zone with the plane battle, Emerald Hill Zone with Seattle (the nickname of which is the Emerald City), The Hornet drone shown briefly during the plane fight is the same design as what was seen in Emerald Hill Zone (though it has a different color scheme).
For me it's got to be the sound of collecting a key in the N64 Rush games, followed closely by the Mountain Dew can sound in Rush 2. Even Zelda and Sonic's sounds don't give me the nostalgia that those two sounds give, and they're my favorite two series.
@LXP8 I was using my NES Classic SP until I finally got a DS Phat again three years ago. That thing got so beat up over the 14 years of use it got before then, even when I originally got a DS two years after getting the GBA. I just can't justify risking more cosmetic damage to it at this point.
I think the only thing blocking the Harry Potter games is that Warner Bros. has their own publishing house now, with Harry Potter being included under that. EA has blocked other license holders (Middle-Earth's games) from re-releasing and repackaging titles developed under them.
@bimboliquido A person can love their job and still complain about aspects of it. If anything, Sakurai has been more open and honest about the toll that creating games can take than any developer I've known about. It doesn't mean he should leave the industry.
NA for me. I like how it doesn't spoil the surprise of Zero Suit Samus, and has the little details that others have pointed out. I do like the border artwork for the Japanese release, but having the Zero Suit advertised on the box art rather than just the surprise partway through the game is disappointing.
As long as the compilation of Battle Network and Starforce are on their way, I'm happy. They were my first foray into Megaman, years after playing the Game Gear release, and will always be my favorite iteration. The RPG spinoff era of the 2000's was truly great.
@SuperCharr Fortnite is the first free to play game that I have willingly, and excitedly, paid for character skins. I feel it's supporting the artists, whether they work for Epic or not, and the prices are actually reasonable. There's also not really a story within the game, outside of the odd event that more or less sets up changes to the map.
The transistors in ROM (Read-Only Memory) cartridges are essentially locked into a single configuration, and as such lose much of their mechanical/electro-chemical functionality when the data is written on the chip. With Flash Memory the transistors are generally not able to be completely locked, and if even one part of the memory is set to be rewritten often, the chemical separation within the transistor eventually becomes non-existent. USB Thumb Drives from the mid 2000's are a great example, I had a high-end one fail after only three years of use, but I used it enough to degrade the flash memory.
All of you talking about encountering Shinys in the wild just reminds me of my terrible luck with Pokemon. I have never even encountered a wild Shiny over the years I've been playing, including Pokemon Go.
Lotsalegs. I'm generally stable, and the only times that I can be pretentious are when people I know dispute my knowledge when I've already shown that I know my stuff. I'm always supporting my friends too.
Europe's gives an idea of what you're going to be doing in the game, rather than the random camera lens and overload of Pokemon that both Japan and NA had.
I got one via ShopGoodwill here in the states for under $100. Installed Homebrew stuff specifically to unlock Gamecube compatibility. I've loved playing Rogue Squadron 2 again, even though I use a PS4 controller rather than a GC adapter and controller. It's definitely worth it if you can find one for cheaper.
I like to have at least the instruction booklets. If I can get a CIB for a good price, I will. If I can only get the cartridge, then I'll do that. I'd love to have boxes for my loose games, but it isn't a priority. The one thing I will definitely do is get top labels for my N64 carts. That is the single biggest mistake that Nintendo made with those cartridges.
I think the Switch version looks better. It's more in line with the cartoon style of the original releases, giving a better sense of nostalgia to the game.
I'm really interested in this game due to the art style. The 3D pixel art is really appealing. While it is a bit too close to present reality for most, even the plot intrigues me as someone who has struggled with dating over the last year especially.
The Space Pirates will definitely be redesigned if this becomes a set. The part that is used for their heads in the fan design have been out of production for nearly 20 years, and their molds were likely destroyed when LEGO went through and purged tons of their one-off part molds a few years ago. Same with the old Super Battle Droid legs that are used. I would like this one to become a set regardless though.
There's a house level?! I got the best kind of childhood vibes from this game, Banjo-Kazooie, Spyro, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, Star Fox Adventures, etc. all rolled into one beautiful looking title!
I could see Sonic Team going to Nintendo, as I don't think that their PC sales have been as good as the other studios. The other developers would definitely be more suited to go to other publishers and/or spinning off on their own. Nintendo likely has no interest in Total War.
