Re: Opinion: Pokémon Legends Z-A Is The Creepiest Entry Yet, Not In A Good Way

Yel333

@LastFootnote @LastFootnote you are right, I can tell you about games that look better: Jak 3, Dark cloud 2 and Sly 2 come to to mind. The details, art style, animation and voice acting blow all pokemon games out of the water. Sure, maybe ZA models have more polygons and it may look sharper but everything else is worse than many ps2 games.

Re: Opinion: Resident Evil Requiem Represents A Turning Point For Switch 2

Yel333

@fenlix I get your point but the gaming landscape is different now.
We are at a point of diminishing returns with graphics and AAA publishers are going to start prioritising less graphically advanced games with a shorter release cycle (According to IGN during Gamescom this year).

My guess is it's also easier to make games with less fidelty to run on less powerful hardware than before.

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?

Yel333

I find my feelings contradicting - MkW was a let down and there was no killer app at launch. However, I haven’t stopped playing my switch 2 since launch. Fantasy life on switch 2 was awesome.. i didn’t want to get the switch 1 edition because it ran like crap while the ps5 version would bind me to the couch for such a grindy game. Then I played Echoes of Wisdom, which I have been holding off on because it didnt run well on sw1, then I played bananza and now silksong.

So, yeah.. not a great launch lineup but having the switch 2 has been awesome with no shortage of unique experiences.

Re: Talking Point: Would Drag x Drive Be Better With Miis Or Non-Mouse Control Options?

Yel333

I only tried a little bit of the demo then deleted it. The presentations is indeed boring but the mouse controls is what ultimately turned me off. It’s just a chore to play this game.. I get trying to mimic sword fighting, driving or even boxing with motion controls… there is a cool interesting factor with these examples. Here it’s just tiring.

Not to mention the fact that it’s a competitive game, maybe a single player game that slowly builds up with a character in a wheel chair and an interesting world could save this idea.

I don’t know man, can’t believe this game came form Nintendo of all gaming devs.

Re: Poll: Ahead Of Silksong's Release, Are You 'Finally' Playing Hollow Knight?

Yel333

The poll is missing an option for me. I have played it before but I don’t want to play it again right before silksong to not sour my experience or burn me out.

I have done that with TOTK by playing BOTW in anticipation and it really turned me off. Mainly because it was more of the same so it really made TOTK a slog and I couldn’t stop comparing everything.

I don’t want that to happen with silksong.

Re: Reaction: What's Your Gut Feeling On The Zelda Movie News?

Yel333

@NintendoDadI I think complaining about which game or setting the movie will choose is a good problem to have.

Most are just worried it will be trash. I hope it will be a good quality movie with good actors, writing and soundtrack. Regardless of all the things you mentioned

Re: Reaction: What's Your Gut Feeling On The Zelda Movie News?

Yel333

They need to get the composers of the botw/totk trailers involved with the soundtrack.

I hope they utilize zelda’s music correctly. I think that will make or break the movie for me.

To me zelda’s emotional connection is to the atmosphere the games set and that’s usually done through the aesthetics and the music.

I hope they don’t drop the ball like they did with the mario movie soundtrack.

Re: Retro-Inspired Indie Sea Of Stars Receives A New Switch Update

Yel333

@Quiet2down I didn’t pick it up exactly because if that. The writing in the demo was very bland. Weird because the messenger had outstanding writing. I liked how meta it got in the end as well.

I would have expected an rpg like this would have unlocked the full potential of the writers but alas.

Re: Poll: Hasn't Nintendo Always Been An 'Entertainment' Company?

Yel333

While I understand that point of view and indeed Nintendo didn't start with video games. However, it has been mainly about video games for the last couple of decades. Everything is centered around their games. Even these new ventures are all about their games. So.. yeah.

They aren't making characters only for movies or figurines. The characters are created for the games then everything else follows.

Re: Talking Point: What Makes A Good Sidequest, Anyway?

Yel333

Ffxvi does side quests wuite well. I guess it falls under character development and world building. If you look at the side quests only from a gameplay perspective, they are nothing better than fetch quests. However, every single builds the world further and makes it more believable. You get to see how people live, the things they struggle with, the things they need, conflicts, worry or triumphs. It really drew me in and I do every single side quest immediately.

Re: Japan's Switch Sales In June Were Reportedly A Record High For The Console

Yel333

@Serpenterror I mean, just last month we got a new entry of one of the biggest IPs in gaming (zelda) and we are getting a new pikmin and a new 2d mario. How is it only relying on indies and remakes?

The only reason the switch is doing so well is because nintendo is still supporting it with new well made, and fun games. Sure there are many remakes and indies but that’s not all it’s running on.

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW

Yel333

I 100% agree with this article. I enjoyed botw more because it was quiet and the distractions were few and far in between. Finding something out of my way felt earned.

Totk has so many things on the surface going on that trying to do something I want is difficult because there is constantly something pulling on my attention that I forget what I wanted to do in the first place. That feeling of guilt you mentioned rings true.

However, this is exactly why the depths is my favorite part of the game and where I personally spent the most time. It’s quiet and empty with very clear direction, intriguing and just gives me the botw and subnautica vibes.

At the end of the day totk’s ability to give me this kind of experience and it’s only 1/3 of the experience says a lot about the game. I may not be in the right place to enjoy the chaos of the surface as much as other people but it still gives me the depths.
