Re: The Pokémon Company Sues Fan for Copyright Infringement, Demands $4,000 in Damages

Worthy

The Pokemon company are getting worse.

It's bad enough that Nintendo have to twist their arm to make a 3DS/WiiU game these days (and still the 3DS won't be getting Pokemon Go or the Trading Card game).

Then there's the stupidness with the Pokemon Amiibo's such as compatibility and the sound effects in Super Mario Maker.

...and now this fiasco, which despite the Pokemon Company looking more like an IOS app company these days, will still have people pointing the finger of blame at Nintendo (as evident already by some of the comments on here).

Re: Some Western Splatoon Players Would Prefer Not To Compete With Japan

Worthy

I'm the opposite because I prefer to play the Japanese players because when Splatfests come around, it seems to be full of lower levels, none painting people, paint your own area first, etc..

However, they should have regional mode like Mario Kart does anyway for those who's internet isn't that good/playing up. Surely that would fix half of the disconnecting issues that people talk about?

Re: Here's Your Next Helping Of Guitar Hero Live Tracks

Worthy

I was sceptical at first (especially after seeing Ed Sheeran and Skrillex listed), but the set list improves with every set list release and this is only a small percentage of the songs in the game.

If all this talk of "100+ songs" is true then I can forgive a few duff tracks, LOL!

Re: Nintendo Outlines Confusing amiibo Save Data Limitations

Worthy

So let me get this straight:

If a game saves onto the Amiibo itself (ie: Smash Bros), I won't be able to use it on another game that saves onto the Amiibo without deleting the previous data?

However if a game that saves onto the Amiibo itself (ie: Smash Bros), I can still use it on games that don't save onto the Amiibo (ie: Mario Kart 8) without looking any data?

Re: Bandai Namco Announces Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy Plus For 3DS

I think those saying "this should be paid DLC instead" are missing the point of Amiibos:

If it was paid DLC you'll have to buy each content separately per game which is costly, but if you own just 1 Amiibo, then depending on who it is, you can use it to unlock more stuff without paying extra in many games.

ie: let's say the Mario Amiibo is going to be compatible with 10 games in the future, that's 10 extra content for the price of 1 Amiibo, but if it was paid DLC and you got charged for them extras in them games, unless it comes to a £1 each (i've yet to see £1 DLC yet) you're getting you're moneys worth.

My advice for Amiibo buyers is to avoid the obscure characters for now (ie: Little Mac) and focus on one's that you know will be in alot of other games too (ie: Yoshi).

Re: I'll Take Zelda And Mario Over Sharing Call Of Duty With Sony And Microsoft, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

Worthy

@Caryslan I agree with you 100% and to add to your point:

1) Them Wiiu 'gimped' ports you talk about cost the exact same price as the Xbox/Ps equivalent, but often get less features or no DLC.

2) Delayed Wiiu games cost the same when they are released, even though the Xbox/PS equivalents have come out earlier cough*Watch_Dogs*cough.

So if you own either an Xbox360, Xbox1, Ps3 or a Ps4, would you wait patiently for several months to buy a 'gimped' Wiiu port at same price as the non-Wiiu version, even though it'll have less features, no DLC support and by the time of release, you could probably be find an Xbox360/Xbox1/Ps3/Ps4 copy in a bargin bin by the time the Wiiu version gets released?

Seriously if any game developers are reading this: either sell your games for £20 or include unique features and DLC built on the disc to justify selling it full price!! IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!!

EDIT: This was in response to your previous post.

Re: I'll Take Zelda And Mario Over Sharing Call Of Duty With Sony And Microsoft, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

Reggie makes a good point here, After all you don't see Xbox One owners say "i'll buy a PS4 as a secondry console" and you don't see PS4 owners say "i'll buy an Xbox One as a secondry console", but you do see both PS4 and Xbox One owners say "i'll buy a WiiU as a secondry console" because it's different to the console they currently own.

As for 3rd party, I still say most of them hold a grudge from the early days when Nintendo were strict (ie: no blood in Mortal Kombat) or a recently developed grudge (ie: EA Origin fiasco). This is becoming more obvious with excuses like "adult games don't sell on Wiiu" getting proven wrong by Bayonetta 2's success and with the install base rising, it'll be interesting to see if they do release AAA games or make another excuse up?

Re: Watch Dogs Wii U Release Dates Confirmed

Worthy

For those saying "if we don't buy it, then Ubisoft will think Mature games are not for the Wii-U"...

...simple solution: buy Bayonetta 2 and show them that Mature games released on Wii-U do work when they are released at the proper time, with actually marketing and not run by a company who delayed the Wii-U version of Rayman Legends to release it alongside the Xbox/PS versions, but couldn't delay the Xbox/PS version of this game to release alongside the Wii-U version?

Re: Nintendo Titles Fail to Infiltrate the UK All-Format Top 20

Worthy

@Jamesy2013 i'm from the UK and I also remember when the 3DS first came out and nearly everyone was slating it because according to the media 'it makes people go dizzy' and ironically that same media is now proclaiming the 3DS to be the best handheld, plus people don't seem to get dizzy or sick anymore because of it, lol!

Sadly we Brits seem to look down on Nintendo until sales rise in other countries and then we Brits suddenly change our tune and jump on the bandwagon because 'everyone else is getting them'... ie; like what happened with the original Wii.

BTW i'm not having a pop at my fellow countrymen, just pointing out how quick we are to change our tune when something is 'the in thing' at the moment and it's not just Nintendo as even iphone apps have a bandwagon. Seriously my mate said Bejewelled is rubbish and is another boring 'swap stuff to get three in a row' game... and now she plays Candy Crush which is basically the same thing, I WONDER WHY? lol!

Re: Parent Trap: StreetPass Makes Social Networks Social Again

I've not been to a pub for years, so imagine my shock when I returned home after taking my dad to local old pub for his birthday, to pull out the 3DS from my pocket and this time not get a green light, but a blue light with a notification telling you are in a Nintendo Zone hotspot?

As if getting Nintendo Zone in an old fashioned pub full of oldies wasn't weird enough, that thing alone gave me 7 Street Passes including a Special Nintendo Mii with gold pants.

BTW I have no idea what Nintendo Zone is, but i'm guessing it has a relay system where it stores Mii's and classes them as Street Passes?

Re: Nintendo Applies Minor Miiverse Update on Wii U and Web Versions

Worthy

@DestinyMan I know what you mean because i've seen the 'Final Boss' stamp posted in World 3, but I didn't think much of it at the time (I didn't even know it was Bowser, lol!).

I think the real spoilers that are ruining the game for people are the one's telling you how to get the green stars and stamps. I'm not talking about the cleverly cryptic posts like "want the 2nd star? Get a cat suit then!", i'm talking more about those that give you a detailed exact location, lol!

Like you said, people need to use the spoiler tag more.

Re: Former Sony Developer Feels The Wii U "Won't See Another Christmas"

Worthy

@Frapp I agree because the man was a genius and I ment no disrespect by bringing his name into it because I used to own a ZX Spectrum. (yeah you kids talking about long loading times should be thankful you didn't have to wait hours for a game to load, lol!).

BTW just to add to the point I was making in a previous post on here about Atari founder Nolan Bushnel slating Nintendo and that he worked on Project NEMO (see the article on here further up). I noticed in that article alot of Nintendo hate and that NEMO might have stood for ‘Nintendo Ends Mid-October'... interesting!

Re: Former Sony Developer Feels The Wii U "Won't See Another Christmas"

"Kenny Linder — a former developer at the now-defunct Sony-owned BigBig Studios"

So to recap:

We had the guy in charge at NOW DEFUNCT Atari (who according to another article on here worked on project Nemo) slate Nintendo.

A head of NOW DEFUNCT THQ (also Naughty Dog grew when this guy left) slate Nintendo.

...and now another guy from a NOW DEFUNCT company slating Nintendo.

Maybe my joke about them being jealous because Nintendo outlasted them, has some truth in it? LOL!

BTW I remember joking yesterday on the THQ guy article, saying something along the lines of "i'll await the next article from a guy who's company is NOW DEFUNCT to slate Nintendo", and even though my joke guess of 'Former ZX Spectrum creator: Clive Sinclair" was wrong... you gotta admit that I was half right, LOL!

Re: Super Mario 3D World Struggles Against PS4 Titles in UK Charts

Worthy

@jrob23 it can't be advertising as i've actually see alot of adverts for Mario 3D World.

Xbox One have the most ad's because i've seen 5 mini adverts in 1 ad break, each with a funny Shazam symbol. (Dead Rising, Forza, Fifa 14, Ryse and Titanfall)

However i've not seen many PS4 adverts (not as frequent as Xbox One) but they started sponsoring alot of Channel 4 shows and the newspaper ad in the Sun saying "sorry Rosey, 22 from Middlesex, this page 3 is for the players" got alot of news coverage because it pushed a topless model to page 5 (instead of the infamous page 3).

Personally I think it's more to do with the shops themselves because WiiU games are not well stocked, often hidden amongst Wii games, relegated to a tiny shelf or in some cases, not sold at all.

Seriously when I bought my WiiU from Tescos, the staff had no clue what I was talking about and I, a shopper who has never been in the store before, had to lead the guy WORKING IN THE VIDEO GAME SECTION of the store, to the Wii section and point out the WiiU price sticker to him... ironically as soon as i'd shown it him, he conveniently said "oh that, yes, we have 1 left" (he said this without even checking, then after actually checking, he came back with 2 bundles).
