Re: Football Manager Touch 2018 Kicks Off Today On Nintendo Switch

WaitroseDad64

Bought it yesterday and played for about an hour. Never played the touch version and havent played the pc version for a few years. I've played on my mobile recently though.
For those like me who didnt know FM touch, he game is a lot closer to the PC version. The game seems to have evolved a bit in the last few years - which is not necessarily a given with this type of game.
What I don't like so much at this point is the interface. Only a few things can be really done with the touch screen given it's smaller than the typical tablets the game was originally designed for. Moving the pointer with the left stick is slow and a bit frustrating for me at this point. Hope I'll get the hang of it quickly.
I personally wish the game was a bit simplified and quicker. I like the mobile version for this. I'm not interested in setting specific training and I don't want to be tweaking my tactic all the time. But some people will definitely see this depth as a strength.
To finish on a high note, the match engine is great and it's the closest thing to watching a real game of football its ever been (in FM standards). I don't mean graphically but the way the teams play.
Hope this helps people who're on the fence with this game...

@RazumikhinPG
I'm only b*tching about people who are b*tching.
I don't say we shouldn't express a negative opinion when we have one. But I don't get how this article is a problem to anyone. It's been useful for me and a few other people who are interested in Labo. The rest should just move on with their lives...

@WolfyWardark
Did the exact same thing. Thanks NL.
I can see some people complaining in the comments that it has nothing to do with Labo. Well, it does. Several people will use this to purchase Labo.
And for those who are not interested, that's absolutely fine. I'm not interested in Kirby for example. The difference is that I don't b*tch about it in the comments section if there's an article about it.

Re: Nintendo Reiterates That It's Not Interested In Virtual Reality Or 4K Support

@Savino
I don't think you get it. For Nintendo it's about coming up with new tech that can be available to the mass without big entry barriers. The Wii didn't require anything but a TV (of any kind) to play.
VR is a different story. I think the only reason they're not interested in that tech at the moment it's because it's only available to enthusiasts. In a few years, I'm sure they'll get on board. VR needs Nintendo!

Re: Review: DOOM (Switch)

3 reasons to buy this game:
1. It's a great game. Port or no port, a great game is a great game and this one my friends is a great one.
2. Bethesda is a great game publisher and they're supporting the Switch. I want that to continue.
3. The art on the box is just too awesome. I think I'd buy this even if there was no cartridge inside. Lol

Re: Wii U's Failure Is Responsible For Switch's Success, Says Reggie

WaitroseDad64

So much hate for Reggie. I don't get it. If the Wii U concept was deeply flawed, I don't think he had much say in it. I imagine Japan stirs the ship and NOA do with what they're given. Not saying they haven't done any mistakes, but it seems quite harsh... Can anybody maybe explain me what he did that was so terrible?

Re: Nintendo's Updated Switch and 3DS Infographic Shows Off Winter Line-Up

@Proust
I think we will know more about Q1 and Q2 before the end of the year, at least in terms of 3rd party announcements. Nintendo may wait until Jan for their next direct.
Now that Switch is a success, I personally don't worry at all about possible droughts. I don't expect there will be quite as many Nintendo games next year (and if only one could be as good as odyssey or botw I would sign with both hands right away) but I expect 3rd party support will increase significantly. And all indie devs will want their games on Switch as they do now already.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE
I don't think anybody needs to look past 2017 to be convinced the Switch is worth every penny. Please don't encourage Nintendo to go down the path of announcing games too early. They are the example to follow.
Personally I've been gaming since the late 80s and even if I'm in my 30ties now I think it's the best first few months I had with any console.
I suspect by reading your comments that you predicted the Switch would fail, that Nintendo would get it wrong once again, and now that it's a massive success, rather than putting your arm up and saying "well done guys", you feel you have to stand by your original thought, hiding behind silly arguments like a Web browser is missing or God knows what. I can totally understand how people expectations can be different but that's just ridiculous.
Or maybe you just like the attention...

Re: EA Says It's Still Too Early To Judge Demand For More Games On Switch

WaitroseDad64

@Ralek85
I realise it doesn't look good. It does seem money wasted though if all they do with Star Wars is Battlefront. I mean surely a lot of people would buy Star Wars games. In the Lucas era, the games were hit and miss but at least the universe was being exploited and the games were very different gameplay-wise. Here it looks like a situation where everybody loses (EA included because you could easily imagine they could make a lot more money with this)
