@nhSnork The switch is a home console though so when compared to others it's outclassed by miles. Even still, now that steam deck is released, the switch is no longer the most powerful portable console.
@BabyYoda71 Surprisingly you can build a good pc that will run most latest games for 300-500$ USD. PC gaming isn't anymore expensive than the Ps5 or Xbox Series X.
@Emperor-Palpsy Hard disagree. Re5 is way more fun than Zero. Nothing in Zero is memorable or done right, hence why Capcom barely recognizes it's existence.
The complaints were it's half arsed co-op, frustrating controls, poor ai, and annoying need to switch between two characters. RE5 isn't perfect but Zero is way bottom on the list of good RE games. Only outdone by Operation Racoon City which is by far the worst.
Eh, what does it matter. Likely it will get a middling or average score from critics. Fans will love it regardless. People will go on another rant how critics are not to be trusted while ironically recommending their favorite critic.
All Nintendo has to do is sit back and watch their bank account numbers rise.
@Ratmasterd21 Agreed. How dare this reviewer not fall in line with the others. Let's grab our pitchforks! Our favorite games must score no less than perfect!
I'm glad he said this. Every since BOTW came out, every game under the sun has been compared to it. like Geez BOTW, maybe have added a few new cool ideas, but it didn't invent the formula and it borrowed many concepts from other games in same catergory.
@EffortlessMuppet So you don't watch content from DF, don't care about them or Bayonetta, yet here commenting how all they do is hate on the switch in every video.
That's alot of care from someone who doesn't like a channel. How do you know that's all they do if you avoid the channel like a plague?
I think you just wanted to complain about them at the end of the day.
@nessisonett I read it, personally I felt the reviewer spent more time talking about her personal history with the character vs the actual game itself.
But in all honesty, I have no idea what the reviewer expected. She's looking for something deeper in a game that never intended to be deep.
@wicktus No it wasn't. Cyber Sleuth was a boring slog with very little challenge, translation typos galore, and just an overall feeling of a bland generic product thrown out.
If Pokemon is uninspired with low end graphics, then Digimon is really at the bottom of the barrel.
I say that as fan who grew up with the series too. I'm not even a big pokemon fan, but I'd play every game in that series vs Digimon anyday.
@everynowandben @Davzilla For two people who love to throw around the word "gatekeeper" so freely, can you two actually even provide evidence of said gatekeeping?
@Tangerine That is a big issue. If one side admits they defeat, they feel like the loser. It doesn't help when the other side wags their finger and says "Told ya so."
We are losing the abilty to reasonably disagree without being jerks about it. It feels like people are in a battle for dominance.
I recall one time someone came back to me months after I made a comment and was gloating how wrong I was. I countered that excitement by admitting so, retracting my words and moving on.
The guy couldn't process what was happening. I guess he assumed I was planning to cry or get all defensive. haha.
@Andy_Witmyer You aren't the only one. You can hear he's forcing a lower pitch in that last scene. Not to say it's a bad thing, it's just something you notice from people with naturally high pitch voices trying to sound deep.
It might be one those occasions where an actors natural voice overlaps with their performative ones, which can't be helped.
Gohans new form feels uninspired and unearned. I really don't know what is going on with dbs just whipping out new forms from nowhere with none of the emotional weight attached.
@BloodNinja Well, technically he/she can blow them off if they want. While there is room for both, it seems most of the time that games that focus too much on pushing graphics to the limits, tend have the worst and at best mediocre and boring gameplay.
Most of the budget goes to B+ Actors and crappy scripts C+ scripts. I personally don't care about the artists and animators work, if the final product is terrible.
It's not like many of them do it out of the kindess of their hearts. Most of them get payed a check to come in and do whatever job they were assigned to do, on a project I'm willing to bet many of them don't even like. It's called "keeping the lights on."
@russell-marlow To be fair, he never said anything about Super sonic being regulated to final bosses; Just that a trailer ruined a surprise. Which to be fair is pretty accurate, given these days trailers pretty much are okay with spoiling everything. Leaving little room for surprises.
@Cia Thanks for reminding me I'm in the minority. I would have never guessed that. Masterpiece doesn't equal flawless nor perfect. Many reviewers have rated it highly while admitting some of it's faults. It may be a masterpiece to you, but it's not to me. Good on ya if you think so and citing random people isn't going to change my mind on something subjective.
@HamatoYoshi The majority of people Americans idolize are messed up individuals in some capacity. Either give up everything and live the life of a hermit, or learn to separate the art from the artist. You aren't going to find puritans.
I think nostalgia and wow factor alot of us felt back then when 3d was fresh and rising, blinded us to just how mediocre alot of games were back in the day.
@Cia Oh my! The ability to climb any surface?!!!! Truly innovative. I guess that alone makes up for the lackluster game play and side content.
As fare as copycats go so what? People have been copying big titles for decades. Thanks for pointing out the one reviewer though, I guess his opinion matters.
@Meteoroid Ok who said anything about the switch needing to be as powerful as home console? Does that excuse that it's current hardware age is showing where even first party titles and console exclusives games are having trouble? SMT V has some performance issues and that game was designed for the switch.
The switch is not equipped to handle some of the big titles in it's current state. No one here is asking for the next playstation but it would be nice to have a steady frame rate.
If you won''t give devs a free pass then you shouldn't give Nintendo a free one either.
@Would_you_kindly Of course but good luck getting hardcore fans to admit such a thing. According to many peeps, low fps is fine, nah the blurry resolution doesn't bother me.
One can still enjoy the switch yet be critical of it's shortcomings. At some point Nintendo fans have to stop excusing every last thing.
@Cia But they really didn't add anything truly unique and original to the open world format. Yeah it did a few cool things but nothing that changed gaming forever.
Sure it's got a 97 on metacritc, but many open world games with stale formulas also have high scores too. It just does those stale formula's well for most people.
Honestly, i just see the same things I see in other open world games. Passable gameplay, forgettable plot, and boring sideqeusts. It had way too many shrines to pad out gameplay and only a handful of them are unique. The world is amazing but not too much interesting things to do.
While It may be a new take on the Zelda formula, it's still the same old open world formula.
@somebread Welp I don't know what tell ya except get over it? I promise you the sacred Mother series will be safe after this game is released. That's what makes sequels so great! You don't have to accept them (In this case a fan game). Enjoy!
@Meteoroid Morally and creatively bankrupt? You can say the same about actual IP's and their uninspired sequels. You know the ones where they just now exist as a money maker by some of these big studios. Nintendo included.
Sometimes fans put more care in a fan project than actual corporations.
@somebread How exaclty is it disrespectful? Unless I'm missing something here, has the team stated that the game is a parody and a middle finger to fans? The creator is fine with fan games, the people behind this game are doing it for fun.
It's not being forced upon anyone to accept it. So many are already judging this thing based on nothing but a trailer. This game isn't going to harm the sacred Mother series anymore than the thousands of fan games out there in the wild.
@Xiovanni Well then upgrade your pc? The highest end pc's run circles around Xbox and PS5. It's just facts. Consoles are sold at lost for a reason. Sony and Microsoft are not going to give gamers top of the line specs for that low of a price.
@BloodNinja Hard disagree. Sonic farting to remind the audience that indeed hedgehogs have an anus is proof videogame movies can be a respected work of art.

That's not to say the present couldn't have been more interesting, but everything is so scarce you don't feel much impact.
The stakes just don't feel as high as past titles.
