Re: Soapbox: Resident Evil Zero's Train Scenario Is Still One Of The Franchise's Best

WaffleRaptor01

@Emperor-Palpsy Hard disagree. Re5 is way more fun than Zero. Nothing in Zero is memorable or done right, hence why Capcom barely recognizes it's existence.

The complaints were it's half arsed co-op, frustrating controls, poor ai, and annoying need to switch between two characters. RE5 isn't perfect but Zero is way bottom on the list of good RE games. Only outdone by Operation Racoon City which is by far the worst.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Bayonetta 3

WaffleRaptor01

@EffortlessMuppet So you don't watch content from DF, don't care about them or Bayonetta, yet here commenting how all they do is hate on the switch in every video.

That's alot of care from someone who doesn't like a channel. How do you know that's all they do if you avoid the channel like a plague?

I think you just wanted to complain about them at the end of the day.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Bayonetta 3

WaffleRaptor01

@nessisonett I read it, personally I felt the reviewer spent more time talking about her personal history with the character vs the actual game itself.

But in all honesty, I have no idea what the reviewer expected. She's looking for something deeper in a game that never intended to be deep.

Re: Bandai Namco Has "Multiple Digimon Game Projects In The Pipeline"

WaffleRaptor01

@wicktus No it wasn't. Cyber Sleuth was a boring slog with very little challenge, translation typos galore, and just an overall feeling of a bland generic product thrown out.

If Pokemon is uninspired with low end graphics, then Digimon is really at the bottom of the barrel.

I say that as fan who grew up with the series too. I'm not even a big pokemon fan, but I'd play every game in that series vs Digimon anyday.

Re: Bayonetta 3 Dev Responds To Voice Actor Dispute In Official Statement

WaffleRaptor01

@Tangerine That is a big issue. If one side admits they defeat, they feel like the loser. It doesn't help when the other side wags their finger and says "Told ya so."

We are losing the abilty to reasonably disagree without being jerks about it. It feels like people are in a battle for dominance.

I recall one time someone came back to me months after I made a comment and was gloating how wrong I was. I countered that excitement by admitting so, retracting my words and moving on.

The guy couldn't process what was happening. I guess he assumed I was planning to cry or get all defensive. haha.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Mario's Movie Voice?

WaffleRaptor01

@Andy_Witmyer You aren't the only one. You can hear he's forcing a lower pitch in that last scene. Not to say it's a bad thing, it's just something you notice from people with naturally high pitch voices trying to sound deep.

It might be one those occasions where an actors natural voice overlaps with their performative ones, which can't be helped.

Re: We've Played Sonic Frontiers, But What Did We Think Of It?

WaffleRaptor01

@BloodNinja Well, technically he/she can blow them off if they want. While there is room for both, it seems most of the time that games that focus too much on pushing graphics to the limits, tend have the worst and at best mediocre and boring gameplay.

Most of the budget goes to B+ Actors and crappy scripts C+ scripts. I personally don't care about the artists and animators work, if the final product is terrible.

It's not like many of them do it out of the kindess of their hearts. Most of them get payed a check to come in and do whatever job they were assigned to do, on a project I'm willing to bet many of them don't even like. It's called "keeping the lights on."

Re: Super Sonic Shines In New Sonic Frontiers Trailer

WaffleRaptor01

@russell-marlow To be fair, he never said anything about Super sonic being regulated to final bosses; Just that a trailer ruined a surprise. Which to be fair is pretty accurate, given these days trailers pretty much are okay with spoiling everything. Leaving little room for surprises.

Re: Gallery: Here's What Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Looks Like With Raytracing

WaffleRaptor01

@Cia Thanks for reminding me I'm in the minority. I would have never guessed that. Masterpiece doesn't equal flawless nor perfect. Many reviewers have rated it highly while admitting some of it's faults. It may be a masterpiece to you, but it's not to me. Good on ya if you think so and citing random people isn't going to change my mind on something subjective.

Let it go and move on.

Re: Talking Point: Great Game, Poor Performance - When Does A Bad Frame Rate Not Really Matter?

WaffleRaptor01

@Meteoroid Ok who said anything about the switch needing to be as powerful as home console? Does that excuse that it's current hardware age is showing where even first party titles and console exclusives games are having trouble? SMT V has some performance issues and that game was designed for the switch.

The switch is not equipped to handle some of the big titles in it's current state. No one here is asking for the next playstation but it would be nice to have a steady frame rate.

If you won''t give devs a free pass then you shouldn't give Nintendo a free one either.

Re: Gallery: Here's What Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Looks Like With Raytracing

WaffleRaptor01

@Cia But they really didn't add anything truly unique and original to the open world format. Yeah it did a few cool things but nothing that changed gaming forever.

Sure it's got a 97 on metacritc, but many open world games with stale formulas also have high scores too. It just does those stale formula's well for most people.

Honestly, i just see the same things I see in other open world games. Passable gameplay, forgettable plot, and boring sideqeusts. It had way too many shrines to pad out gameplay and only a handful of them are unique. The world is amazing but not too much interesting things to do.

While It may be a new take on the Zelda formula, it's still the same old open world formula.

Re: Mother 4 "Unofficial Fan Project" Revealed, Here's Your First Look

WaffleRaptor01

@somebread How exaclty is it disrespectful? Unless I'm missing something here, has the team stated that the game is a parody and a middle finger to fans? The creator is fine with fan games, the people behind this game are doing it for fun.

It's not being forced upon anyone to accept it. So many are already judging this thing based on nothing but a trailer. This game isn't going to harm the sacred Mother series anymore than the thousands of fan games out there in the wild.
