I wish Nintendo didn't impose these restrictions on their devs. It doesn't prevent the game from being good, and I can understand having some restrictions on how characters are depicted, but this is too far.
In computer science we always say use git. I learned the hard way overwriting homework. git wasn't a thing back then though. Version control sucked back then, so I can't blame them for not having it.
If Bethesda just released a volume 1 and promised a free volume 2 to purchasers this could have been avoided. I'm sure they considered it and decided against it because of the advertised pre-order bonus, but they already delayed it once. They've disappointed more fans than if they delayed it. Sure Mick Gordon could have been more timely but they hired him only 3 months before release. What were they expecting?
@Kirk Pretty sure MS can decide what they do and don't want on their store, and if you don't like it boycott them. It's not like they're being prejudiced or anti-competitive, they just don't want to enter this gray area. This would allow you to load any ROM, including pirated ones. Sure, it can be used legally, but it's still an unprecedented ability to pirate games on a video game console. They still offer it on PC, Mobile, and even HoloLens. I can see both sides to this argument, but it ain't a crime to go either way.
@LetsGoRetro Edgy. You just graduate middle school? Nah, that'd be too old for that. It might just blow your mind, but just cause you disagree with someone doesn't mean you have to call to arms to attack them off the site. I'm a professional world-renowned douche bag expert and I know a douche when I see one.
This'll be interesting. 1 way this could go is MS could force them to blacklist certain ROMs, especially if one for the original Xbox comes out. Most likely Nintendo's lawyers will be foaming at the mouth but kept on a leash.
@Billsama I'm good. Think I'll be using my Wii with an NES Mini controller when those come. Just saying the law is the law and not all emulation is bad. I got plenty of games on my Xbox One.
@SanderEvers It's a console. If it was a Windows 10 PC with exclusive games you could sideload software. Unless you're in Dev Mode with the source code for a UWP app, you can't.
Edit: It is the only console with modding. But other than that, it just has better app support than its rivals. If you can say just anyways.
@ALinkttPresent Emulators aren't illegal, only pirated ROMs are (though practically all ROMs are pirated). MS will almost certainly allow this so long as it contains none bundled. They did on PC and mobile. Interesting gray area to come out of universal apps though. On a related note, I know the weather app recently started working. Brings back memories from the Wii.
A shame, and if what we've heard about the NX is correct, it probably won't be able to handle this game for that matter. At least this looks good (and is from what I've heard), hence why I'll be getting this for my Xbox today. Still, maybe the console market is too crowded for Nintendo. On handheld they'll miss out on 3rd party games like this, but they'll have little competition to worry about.
I bet it's Nintendo asking them for Fallout Shelter, maybe a last gen port like Skyrim at best. Highly unlikely Bethesda is willing to port anything current gen to NX, even if the GPU is all that the CPU is still ARM.

Re: Feature: Warface Devs On The Challenges Of Bringing CryEngine To Switch
@Varkster Yeah, the critically acclaimed Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric was based on CryEngine on Wii U. The Wii U was a different architecture than Switch.

They also leaked the working title of the game. It's called Assassin's Creed Not Prince of Persia.

Not surprised, can see why they did it. Will Edge be for a JavaScript-based solution?
Re: Xbox One NES Emulator Passes Certification, Could Hit Console In The Next Few Days
@plug313 Highly doubt Nintendo or Sony would let that through.

@rjejr It's not surprising in the least, but it doesn't make it burn any less than being roasted by a witty sentient ex-oven.
Re: The Xbox One Might Be Getting A NES Emulator
@jimi If something's overpriced and piracy doesn't exist it just won't sell. If it's reasonably priced, some will still pirate it because cheapskates.
Re: The Xbox One Might Be Getting A NES Emulator
@Kirk It was acting funny shortly before it went down and came back up within an hour, likely emergency.
Re: The Xbox One Might Be Getting A NES Emulator
@faint It'll be interesting if an Xbox emulator becomes available on the One.
Re: The Xbox One Might Be Getting A NES Emulator
@SunshineHunter If they sue that doesn't make it lawful, because unless they change the law it would be frivolous.
Re: The Xbox One Might Be Getting A NES Emulator
@Samurai_Goroh Nintendo did crack down on a Pokemon party, and it's not like the emulators on Android are under attack.
Re: The Xbox One Might Be Getting A NES Emulator
@SunshineHunter He is right cause it is within the law, it being in the shop is a testament to that.

@faint True, but shareholders won't be happy. The NX will probably get by at the least. I bet it'll do well.

@-DEMISE- Only on a smartphone can you judge it. And only the 3DS can show the 3D effect, which is pretty well done in this game.
