this is not actually an "alternative reversible cover".
hate it when people mix this up. this is just inside artwork, yes you can rotate it to show the artwork, but doesn't show the game name or anything, and looks terrible.
go look at proper examples or reversible covers: eg. donkey kong tropical freeze, advance wars re-boot camp, metroid prime remastered.
this includes at least having the game name and spine strip.
@Crimson_Ridley It's stop charging at "approximately 90%".
Everyone moaning it's not stopping at 90%, it's not an issue., 87,88,89% is approx. It can be that it goes to 89% then drops a couple percent if you haven't checked it.
I remember a patent or some technology they talked about a few years ago now I think where they said the switch 2 will know the difference between a switch 1 and switch 2 game, games will have different "profiles/profiling" when the game cart is inserted. why would you do this? to then apply all this upscaling/AI to the old games, of course!
maybe the same will be used for some switch 2 games, but I can see greater performance enhancements coming for the older switch 1 games. that will give some great added value to switch 2 console to!
I hope this works with switch 1 games. something like it will know when you put in switch 1 game, or downloaded game, and then it will apply some of this processing, or something. maybe to make them all run at 1080p/60fps or something that is at least better than on switch 1. I wonder if it can do this from the hardware side to upscale and apply these performance enhancements.
I'm holding back on playing some switch games so i can play them on switch 2 with these improvements!
@Bunkerneath it's also on amazon japan, which ships to us/uk, not sure where you're from. but i think it's only like £14/£15, obviously shipping is about £20.
just buy a few more games, might have to pay around £100-£200, but shipping/customs and taxes should stay around the same £20, you won't get hit with these fees on your doorstep like other import sites, amazon is pretty good and it's all included and can see at the checkout. plus! they'll be with you in about week! pretty mad!
there are quite a few japanese exclsuive games you can get, that also have full english lang. support. i got shante and seven sirens, binding of isaac repantance, this bo game, tetris effect connected, cave story+, pheonix wright collection, okami hd. the actual games are all pretty reasonable, like £15-£25.
i was gonna wait for a eur/uk release but i don't see it happening. it all happened around the same time when humble bundle said they're going under, or laying off all their staff, i can't remember.
@Duncanballs not really, it's psychological pricing. one game is gonna cost say £50 and you'll want to buy one game at least with it.
if the console is 350, you can say "nice", i can get a game with that for 400 odd. if it's 400 then 450 with a game, yeah people might be able to afford it, but with parents or some people there is a psychological barrier where you don't want to pay.
@romanista true. i don't think anyone will rival the switch at the moment and nintendo's brand, it's also that and how would they market the steam-deck for mums? it's not as friendly and "nice" as nintendo's family-friendly image. nintendo's price-points are always lower, because they keep their hardware-costs down by going under-powered to other consoles, that are in a different league really, and again, appeal to a "different" type of person.
there's not a lot of overlap on the hardware as i said, nintendo mums or more casual gamers and for kids will go for a switch.
multiple kids in your family and they both now want their own console or handheld... there's only really one option, another reason why the switch is the second best-selling console, they are selling to multiple households now, not just one home-console, like the others. nintendo's hand-helds have mostly always seen these good numbers because families and children would have multiples per household. steam deck is not really a thing many young children would want. add nintenod's great ip's and exclusive games and it's hard to rival.
@John_Deacon yup, totally agree, that's my point when I said i look at all these scores but i don't really take away anything from them, especially when they're big hyped up games from big publishers, not just nintendo games of course.
and i totally accept the opposite, and glad you rate that game a 9, i'm not gonna bash anyone for that, also why i said that this review is titled "Easily The Best Mario & Luigi RPG Yet!"... well only to this reviewer. Everyone see everything different, especially writing for a nintendo website or publication and that's where my bias/other peoples can come into it
We can all argue what deftones album is the best until the cows come home
probably because ppl have different expectations as this is a new game in the franchise that has been dormant for ages maybe? or ppl are expecting more or something brand new!? i don't know.
There has, and always be some sort of biased. I don't think NintendoLife would ever rate a Nintendo game less than 6 or 7 on their scale. Yes the IGN might hate on Nintendo or just has more of an unbiased view on it.
DigitalTrends and some others down in the 70/7's. I don't really care for any reviews at this tbh, but they're interesting to see nonetheless.
Nintendo have always been competitive on pricing and making money on them. I don't see any different with Switch 2. Family friendly games + pricing for everyone.
£349 max in the UK I reckon, with a new game + whatever other extras looking at £399. I think that's high enough for them. Price drop on the OLED to £199.
@Zeebor15 I don't think so, not here in the UK at least.
Another Code is readily available on many online retailer sites and it's not hard to find. Also, i've seen many online retailers have got Emio up for pre-order here too (standard version only). But I want this Jp coll. edition.
@Zeebor15 Yeah made by Mint Rocket but pretty much financed by Nexon who are massive. Just because it has pixel art doesn't make it an indie game (which most people jump to). I think this game had a pretty big team size too.
Any it seems it will get worldwide release so should see it in the UK soon.
I think they are waiting for the latest possible time to release the physical. If they can release a near complete game with all updates and fixes that would amazing.
Not many companies are doing that. They release both at the same time as they rush to get them out and are left to patch them. This could be there approach to make it as complete as possible for the physical version.
it's the classic... these companies grow too big, and as some have said before, they get a bit complacent, and reluctant to try stuff.
and what do you mean by "alot of money".?
that's probably why at least 50% of my switch collection (over 100 games at least) are indie games, a small team. there costs are lower, they can take risks, they don't need to sell millions of copies to make it, Stardew Valley and few others are outliers that they've sold millions and that was made by one bloke. But Many other indies can be successful and not selling millions. there are no corporate overlords, they have more freedom, and generally the games are better and to my taste.
@PessitheMystic most of these guys left Capcom/Clover Studio in their heyday, the tri-fecta of Shinji Mikami, Atsushi Inaba, and Hideki Kamiya now at PlatinumGames.
I guess they got their freedom back then with Capcom set up Clover Studio... which only lasted a couple of years
it's easy to understand, you will cannibalise your own sales offering a subscription service AND a physical.... makes no sense! of course people will not buy the physical
Hence the switch here, and this is actually better for the developers. they are making more money. switch is the best machine for these smaller and indie games, you see how much success they are having and people actually buying their games!
i reckon after the sales die down they'll chuck the game + dlc's on the cart and ship it for a half decent price by then. maybe £25-£30... end of 2022, 2023?

I will keep an eye out, i'm sure it will go up on other online retailers soon, base.com, shopto.net.

£299.95 for base switch 2
switch 2 oled re-fresh in 2/3 years for £324.95
like they did with switch 1
Re: UK Charts: Black Ops 6 Fends Off A Wave Of Nintendo Hits
@JS_Comics it was down to £20, or £24 on amazon for a few weeks, maybe the last two weeks or so? so maybe it just sold well then.

@wiiware
the market is video games / console or pc doesn't matter.
the audience is what is different, pc gamers and young people vs nintendo's catch all audience, young, old, families, kids, dogs.
the machines, nintendo's and valves hardware, and nintendo's software specifically are vastly different in who they target, audience wise

@Shepdawg1
no. the markets are the same, the audience is different.
people need to get this right

Metroid Prime 4
This new 3D DK
maybe another 3D Mario (Odyessey 2 would be nice)
That would be a nice few games for Switch 2 launch!
