@jhewitt3476 Its not being shoehorned in though. Birdo has been this way since introduction and at a time when transgender enemies was probably a good concept. So its right for it to be addressed properly.

@jhewitt3476 Well if they said mario was straight that would be unacceptable because it would be unnecessary and we know mario is straight. But LGBT communities are underrepresented and Birdo is an issue that was brought up years back and was a part of their original character design. There is no black characters in mario, no gay characters in mario and birdo adds that bit of diversity to the game. Might not be necessary but it's cool to see representation and people just want to see it. It was never an oh btw situation. It was just a part of how birdo was designed and people want answers.

@gloom I mean to be fair they couldve changed it for countries that are less open to the idea of gender fluidity for business purposes. For example Americans are a large audience and LGBT communities arent truly equal across the entire US.

@jhewitt3476 Dude, it might be weird but people have an attachment to these games and the characters and learning more about them is always cool.
We shouldn't shun gender and sexuality from gaming, not while representation is an issue. Maybe in the future when no one cares what anyone else is, but not now. Personally I think having an entire species of transgender dinosaurs is a perfect fit for the mario universe since its just the right level of weirdness

@jhewitt3476 Your concept is cost-effective for Nintendo til you said all 6 of those games would have updated graphics. Nintendo could sell all 6 separately and make more profit. If they were just ports, it might be feasible but even then if we have virtual console or something similar they'd still make more

@datamonkey Yes the switch mini wouldn't have detachable joycons bc its be smaller and the joy cons wouldn't fit. Also imagine having even smaller joy cons theyd be unusable so itd be worth cutting them to cut costs.

It triggers me that people are just accepting this is news when it's just speculation.

Also the one controller scheme makes sense to utilise a variety of features. I know some people might have mostly other controllers but if you think about it most people have joy con so its not an issue really. Its not rendering it unplayable, simply only with less people if you don't shell out for joycons. Personally Id rather have a creative game utilising all the features than some joy stick minigames we had for mario party 1-7

I feel like a black sheep. I bought it for Mario Tennis Version 2 Because if I missed those Boo Hats Id be so sad Xd

@c2017nlifemedia Well there's not many issues with switch hardware. Plus if they were gonna do a switch XL they'd have done that by now. This is also a home console too. I think its unlikely we'll get different variations until a next gen switch comes along. A switch U maybe hehe. But then again just my opinion

@BlueOcean If there was an issue with tbe software, they'd just update it. And releasing a switch revision next year would be a grave mistake. You can't just get everyone on board with your device and then upgrade it so quick, thats just a big middle finger to anyone eho invested early on.
Also there's debate on whether they will revise the switch, since they never revised home consoles (except the wii mini) so they may not revise the switch.

@huyi Oh I agree its a really good format and I'm interested to see how it develops. Just whenever I've seen anyone use it, there's a bit of messing about before hand. And then there's the issue of space. But each to their own.

@ReaderRagfish Same, I've tried it and it makes me feel sick. I know people say you get used to it. But it also takes a bit to set up and I prefer to just pick up and play like on the switch or on other consoles.

@NotSoCryptic They do not ever need to reach 20 million. There are minorities in the market like you who are not worth the hassle to appeal to. They create a service and if it is not profitable to adjust that service enough to reach you then why would they.
When I said only one of its kind I was referring to the console not the service. It is the only hybrid console as of now.
It is not Nintendo's fault if you dont choose to try find a way to connect to the Internet. Your argument is the switch will drain data? Well turn it off then. that's your responsibility not nintendo's.
This is not an annoyance Id like to deal with you are right. But it isn't anything massive for the majority of the market. The majority of people with a console of any kind tend to have an access point every 7 days. I think you're the one being self centred and entitled actually since you admit your in a minority yet you expect the company to pander to your needs.

@NotSoCryptic Yeah but, your in a minority. Also all you gotta do is connect your switch to your data, when you need to reconnect turn it on, wait 1 minute, turn it off. WOAH! I appreciate there might not always be data but all the switch has to do is confirm it is connected wver so briefly from what I understand. I doubt that'll eat your data + if you leave it on thats no nintendo's fault

One other thing. Like i said b4 in this day and age its extremely unlikely you'll be somewhere for 7 days where you have no form off wifi or data. So this makes sense and is fair. Your unwillingness to turn on data briefly is a minor issue. Also this is kinda the ultimate portable, given its the only one of its kind and the fact that you need brief wifi for one feature doesn't knock it down a peg.
And ye know just bc YOU dont want to play online doesnt mean that this is bad. I mean besides that one easily fixable issue, the sub service is pretty cool as it is ever expanding for the forseeable future. Idk how they can rip you off with this as each game would cost about a quarter of the price of the online anyway.

@Blizzia Well I mean they don't have to offer any bonuses. The main reason anyone should pay for it is to play online, just like the other 2 consoles. So you know you just kinda bought it for playing online. Thats what your supposed to be paying for....

@NotSoCryptic M8 When you ever gonna be without internet for 7 days. Even then you can briefly just connect it to your phones mobile data for it to register you've been online and disconnect it again. And if by a small chance you've somehow lost connection because of that there's always the entirety of the rest of the switches library. Im not saying there isnt issues with the service, but that aint one of em

@sanderev @Blizzia Fair enough. But the issues with that are. Minecraft is a game both me and my sister play and if we had a physical we could play it one at a time anywhere without internet. But we bought it before the physical. I suppose there's no way to check if you are playing it while offline. I need only physical games where possible from now >_<

I HATE THIS! It means when I get my switch my sister can no longer play my games (like minecraft) without Internet... If they want households to have more than one switch this needs improvements.
edit: Also to use these games on a non primary switch you have to load up the game with the user who purchased the game. WHICH IS STUPID.

@GKO900 I wouldn't say greedy. Id say lazy. They clearly didn't study the competition. But the price of this is way cheaper than the other two. Though id rather pay for ps+ switch edition. They shouldve done better. But Im just glad its not expensive and undervalued rather than the cheap and still undervalued service we have

@GKO900 1. It never states they delete it and its extremely unlikely that it'll break before you renew it if that were the case.
2. Theyre preventing cheating. I appreciate that they're doing this despite there being other ways to do it. Id rather functional online games rather than online game that don't work and have data
3. I admit save backups to an sd would be ideal for some games like botw but for the games they've blocked from having cloud saves would never be able to be backed up to an sd anyway bc of cheaters. But o see your point there.
4. 20$ isnt much for a year. I mean you do get NES games, special offers and the ability to play online on top of cloud saves. I admit it would be nice to have more. But cmon man its 20$ and Im certain they'll add more features down the line. I mean 3 NES games a month + Special offers yet to come.
All in all i see your point and I see the issue but its not terrible but its no great either.

@GKO900 Its not even that anti consumer. The only issue is if your switch brakes and your service runs out simultaneously. Even then it never says deleted on the FAQ. Plus its only 20$ as lackluster as it seems. It is cheap.

You'd think after the NES classic's success they'd think. Well a lot of people have nes libraries now as well as snes, we can add those later. Lets give them N64 games and Gamecube games because there's not a good modern way to play these. BUT NOPE. But in all honesty this online service is bad. not god awful but bad. They just need voice chat built in, to tell us where these other vc games fit in, and to stop pissing about!

He probably has has his family with him and doesn't have to choose between a switch and the family. How can you be so insensitive to this man's wishes just because he wants to play a game he loves. @TeeJay I can almost 100% confirm pokémon will not be able to follow you in the next game. There's over 802 when they add new ones to it. How do you animate that much. And it's not over casualised: they only changed the catching mechanic, added co-op and changed the safari zone as well qs stats a bit. But is it really too casualised? Co-op should stick around. The catching mechanic is better because it doesn't take as long. The safari zone is a bit meh. And stats are only slightly simplified. I dont the see issue. None of these ruin any of the fun.

We currently have a family switch and I was hoping to get my own and use the data I have on the family one on the new one. Does this mean I cant do it with splatoon? and other games that don't support clouds?

@Prof_Yoshtonics Link would not sell that game. He simply doesn't fit the mood of the rabbids or the art style as well as mario. More mario characters though pleasssseeeeee!

@SimplyCinnamon53 Certain pokemon can hold an item to temporarily evolve digimon style. You can only use one per battle but that pokemon is permanently in that form til it dies in that battle. it doesnt even use up a turn to evolve. Some Mega evolutions change the typing but its not many. One example would be mega charizard X becoming dragon fire type.

Let's Go looks fun! The only thing I'm not too sure on is the catching system but it looks tolerable even if I don't like it. I'm actually more annoyed that all the gimmicky crap such as Mega evolutions are back. I just want some pokemon to beat some other pokemon without one being so strong the rest of the party is on the bench.

I get people like Rayman but people saying they shouldve used him instead I just cant agree. The rabbids bring a humorous touch to the game that couldn't be fulfilled by Rayman. Also the rabbids are more popular, Rayman sales have been slumping. I dont see what Rayman could bring to this that the rabbids dont. But if you are judging this game bc it has rabbids in it, just play it its just some character models.
