@TheMelodiusRose mate, the Xbox 1 and Ps4 are LAST GEN consoles with more power than the switch.
Like I said, this doesn't make the switch not fun. The switch is very fun.

It is however, a fact. You keep saying it's more powerful than last gen. It isn't. It's weaker.
It's more on par with an xbox 360 or Ps3. Still impressive to have in a hand held (hybrid home console since you just keep going on about it like it disproves how weak the switch is relatively) but still weaker than Ps4 and Xbox 1 WHICH btw are last gen just to repeat it for emphasis.

Even though the switch is good. It's main draw is always gonna be the first party offerings and portability because the Xbox and Playstation are just better home consoles. They however, are not portable, which is what makes the switch special. Again this DOESNT mean that the switch doesnt have good 3rd party games. But it still means its worse off as a home console than the other consoles that are made to be that.

@TheMelodiusRose Multiple people have broken down the chips and hardware used in the switch.

It is weaker than the Xbox 1 and PS4.

yes the switch is powerful but by modern standards it is evidently quite weak compared to even last gen consoles.

The switch's main draw will be it's portability and first party offerings which make use of the limtied tech.

The switch IS limited compared to other consoles this is a fact.
It uses tegra chipsets which ARE mobile chipsets.

None of these are a problem. It doesn't make the switch not fun. The switch is fun. But they are still facts.

@Kilroy Since 2010 there's been 3 mainline Fire emblem games only. Fates was received ok at worst the other 2 really well.

Other M being a failure doesn't mean Nintendo hates the series.
Federation Force is a spin off so you can't hold it to the same light as a main series metroid but it IS a game in the metroid series.
Dread has been amazingly well received and the post release updates are meh but fine.

There's nothing there that suggests Nintendo hates metroid.

And Samus returns? If it was developed for 3DS they can't just put it on switch, that's not exactly how it works.

Prime 4 restarting development is a good thing in the long run.

Fans of metroid should be eating right now.

I don't like the approach to this free updates, but for multiplayer games it's almost a must to keep having updates these days.

Mario Strikers will be an online game so it DOES make more sense. Kirby Star Allies NEVER should have had free updates like it did. But online games want to maintain playerbases.

I think the problem comes when they are releasing the base game with what is obviously less content to allow for these updates. Daisy is missing for god's sake.

When it came to Mario Tennis Aces the base roster was good enough that I thought the updates were fun and exciting, the characters we got were actually new, like Pauline, Luma...etc. The update for Mario Tennis Aces that were bad were the update to story mode, that is the type of content that SHOULD be finished at release.

But I think as Super Rush and now this is releasing, it is clear that the content is lacking in both. Super Rush had like 4-5 maps? It was bad.

Nothing wrong with these free updates imo. I think the execution of the content at launch and the content they contain is bad execution.

They refer to her being trans in some other games too. I think the most recent one was Super Mario Party but it only referenced it in the Japanese version and was removed for the western localisation. Though I could be remembering incorrectly.

@MostHandsieBoy Yeah it's so easy to just quit your job, losing all your income, and just get another job. Because it's a well known fact if you quit your job you are guranteed another one with absolutely everything you want.
The company that employs you if you leave the job you depend on to survive will totally not exploit anybody in the world at all because every company except Blizzard is perfect.

Seriously this is such a stupid take. "just quit your job and get another". People rely on their income. It's what pays their bills.
And the video game industry is notoriously quite difficult to get into. So why should these good people QUIT THEIR JOBS AND LIVELIHOOD BECAUSE THEY WERE ABUSED BY MANAGEMENT.

@Snatcher On dps I solely play Symmetra. I have nearly 250 hours on her alone and climbed to masters rank with her. She is by no means gutted, she is very strong.

You are claiming that the thousands of innocent employees that are victims of the terrible culture there are all as terrible as their abusive coworkers and bosses?

And if you knew anything about the lawsuitsz the overwatch team actually had many Devs come out and claim their work environment was actually a nice place to be and it was mainly contained to other teams.

So no the employees that were victims are not the problem. People like me who still play and buy blizzard games are not the problem.

And many many of the employees have been striking in solidarity recently. It is much easier to stand up once you know everybody is behind you. It's difficult alone.

I love this DLC already but it really disappoints me that is isn't the same quality as base game. I would have happily paid more.

@MostHandsieBoy Blizzard employees have straight up said that boycotting and not supporting the company isn't helpful to the thousands of good workers there.

I am not complicit with the actions at Blizzard but I do love their products and I will buy OW2.

This is like saying you are complicit with child labour because your switch chips were made in a labour camp (which I'm pretty sure came out a while back). Bad stuff is everywhere.

They pull music from youtube, then never release it.
They dripfeed small amounts of their HUGE backlog instead of releasing as much as possible to get all that money.
They make like 2 of every single amiibo to the point they sell out day 1 and they get sold by scalpers instead of just simply making more stock to meet demand.

Nintendo always has the cake, but they never eat it. Ever.

I like some things that aren't generally standard, but that's just it, they aren't standard. Still OK but again I don't think it matters, if people don't like F,byleth then that's OK. I do and others do, that's OK.

I could not care less that you don't like it. I do. I don't think we should be changing this stuff because some people don't like it.

There's always other characters in real armour. They exist in the same game ffs. The pegasus knights wear full body plate armour. The heavy knights like Edelgard wear full armour. It looks cool as well. But I like female byleth's design too.

@Ryu_Niiyama Almost like sexual standards for males and females is different.
A man in bulky armour can still be seen as hot but women are held to a different standard hence the different armour.

Nobody says it's impractical for Dante from the devil may cry series to have his abs out or even kratos. Not everything has to be accurate down to the armour because I'm sure you'll find that a lot of male armour is impractical as well. HECK that guy in the DLC is literally shirtless (I don't remember his name)

I don't care if my characters are kept alive by their armour because it doesn't affect gameplay and I'd rather they look cool.
But it sexual appeal applies to both genders in the game and it doesn't matter cus you don't have to like it. Other people do. It's hot on both the men and women.

I think clunky armour doesn't suit female characters as much anyways.
I don't really care for practicality in fantasy games.
I'm sure if we delved into it a lot of male characters have impractical armour too.

@JakedaArbok I think it will have been due to the characters themselves. Almost all of them have new animations for simple things like victory screens, and then on top of that for every minigame and even some board specific events.

Super Mario Party had very few of these if I remember correctly.

Not to mention stickers n stuff.

10 is still a bit small but I find it more than sizeable personally.

@Screen Literally no competitive matchmaking and you've still failed to tell me how duplicating a pokemon you already had is breaking the matchmaking.

It only has play with friends online.

@Snatcher from what I've heard, you can play online with friends but there's no random matchmaker as the core competitive is over in gen 8 SW/sh games

@Screen Instead of just saying "factually incorrect", how about you tell me the facts? And I don't think it matters I haven't played this specific game. I've played diamond and pearl, sword and shield, XY, Sun moon, Lets go. They all amount to similar experiences. But explicitly this particular game does not include online multiplayer. All the competitive scene is specifically focused on sword and shield.

So tell me:
HOW exactly does this ruin the experience for everyone? How does this remotely affect you?

If I duped my shiny ditto, what difference does that make to you?

It's a single player game, people can play how they like, if I had the game yet I'd certainly use it.

All the competitive multiplayer stuff is locked over in sw/sh anyway

@snarls200 Then cut whatever 3rd party characters you can't bring across, and replace them.

Give us a real story mode, some new modes, add friend leaderboards to the score based games, make custom smash, smashdown and squadstrike online. Make World of Light Co-op.
Streamline the menu's with quality of life changes (why is custom balance restricted to 70-130% and why is it not in the rules menu?) .

On top of this rework all the echo fighters to still be clones but with unique aspects of their own. Give Daisy a move or 2 that references super mario land. Give Dark Samus some phazon energy stuff.

There is so much potential to take Ultimate, and build upon it, even if you can't bring all the third party characters. The majority of the roster after all is nintendo owned. 75/89 of the characters can return pretty much no legal questions asked.

I really want Endless Ocean remade or a sequel.
I played it in HD on an emulator and while fun I just wanted that precious remake or sequel.
ABZU and Subnautica aren't endless oceany enough for me. Not being based in the actual ocean on Earth makes them not for me. Nothing recaptures Endless Ocean for me.

Wouldn't mind if the local multilayer wasn't terrible

I am not as excited for this update as I otherwise would have been. I'd much rather they pushed this back along with 1.17 to make a huge update together rather than sprinkling it out. It takes the oomph out of it.
It's all so cool but without the complimentary features releasing together it keeps feeling lackluster. Hoping the wild update is better.

I think somewhere Minecraft said they WILL announce the next update. Though I can't exactly remember where they said it. But I'm pretty confident they did.

@sparkyfilm Pretty sure a few years back GAME went bust, and then someone took over and did exactly the same strategy.

I think GAME might rely on parents and grandparents who buy for other people going in and buying from there without looking elsewhere because they know its the GAME store and it will have the games.

@Anti-Matter Lego Sports isn't the same as Lego City Undercover though.
Lego City is a well established toy line already and still followed the same general LEGO gameplay loop. All the Lego games have a similar gameplay loop with new levels, new coat of paint and maybe a new interaction or two.

But a Lego Sports game wouldn't be this, it'd be a game collection of sports which isn't exactly a Lego game if you ask me, there's few Lego games that have strayed from the formula, none did too well. How often do people talk about Lego Castle or Lego rock band?

Even Lego city undercover isn't the most popular Lego game.

There isn't much chance TT takes a risk when what they have works fine and still is.

base game is fine, we didn't pay extra for that.
But you are forgetting how many people buy this DLC and still have no clue who Sakurai is. He isn't some god and he didn't make this game alone. For the majority of consumers it would either be such a MEH addition or outright disappointment.

But people paid for this and are expecting a character of some kind. Not the developer's self insert.

Ordered a POP Vinyl, It was supposed to come at the end of January, then February, then early march, then they told me definitely start of April.
I cancelled and paid a little more to order from eBay, came next week...
I was on customer service to Zavvi constantly trying to find out where my order was. Would not recommend this company.

@Yosher I agree that sexy characters are fine! I mean look at Widowmaker in overwatch. It fits! It's just I feel they took Cia a bit too far and neglected that she is the villain over the fact that she's sexy.

It didn't ruin the game for me or anything, just the story took a hit in my own eyes but like I said it's not about the story and the story was good for what it needed to achieve. I think Cia is a fun character to play I just didn't like her portrayal. it's a minor issue overall. I love hyrule warriors (not enough to do all those adventure maps though).

I'd love to see that Mario crossover though. I've wanted it since the first Hyrule Warriors, I just never thought anything of the sort would happen. And by the sounds of this interview it seems like a longshot

@Yosher The first Hyrule Warriors was terrible for this. It actually ruined Cia as a villain.
Wizzro and Volga got cool intros when you meet them on the battlefield, Cia's just... zooms in on her ass, and... other parts.
In my guide book for the game it has concept art and Cia's design has a comment somewhere along the lines of that her sexualised nature is to symbolise her greed.
Personally I think they simply took it too far. It's just unneccessary and undersells her as a character imo. Not that the Hyrule Warriors 1 plot was some marvel of storytelling, but it isn't an excuse to have poor characters. All they had to do was make her cool.

@Kalmaro I play everyday, just... not on switch because it kinda sucks in comparison. Not bad overall just not as good.

I've been having a ton of fun on Mario Party 5 6 and 7 with my friends recently. The way the game swings and everybody is still in feels so good. The bowser spaces, DK spaces and duels feel like they're meaningful and the items feel genuinely powerful.

In Super Mario Party the boards feel simple and uninspired. The items are absolutely pathetic. WOW I STOLE 5 whole coins. You only have 600 hundred left because the game dishes them out like everybody is a charity case. This is enough to drag it down. Battle minigames being absent is a wrong step too. And I've not even mentioned how pathetic lucky and unlucky spaces are. Or the final 5 turns? they don't mean ANYTHING in this one. In the others Bowser comes and spews 10 bowser spaces or every value is tripled or theres suddenly 5 stars on the board. It's wild in such a fun way.

However the minigames are stellar and the dice blocks are cool. Although I'd like to see more limitations on the dice blocks? maybe a cooldown since some characters have SUCH an advantage. But I like the uniqueness it adds to character choice.

@JR150 As much as I like the FE characters.
Lucina Marth Chrom and Roy all have extremely similar movesets it's hard to justify them all. Even with 2 being echos.
It's not really their personalities I think people hate but more the lack of moveset diversity for those 4. Granted the Echo's traits make them play very differently and Marth and Roy do feel different.

But at face value they seem the same. And a lot of them look very similar.

This was my opinion too. Having every pokemon there is rather pointless, when it only benefits those who carry pokemon between all the games. And if they can focus on what they have, then great. They didn't.

But I am aware that they have HD models and animations of all the pokemon because they future proofed them on 3DS. So it was strange.

If the rest of the game was up to scratch and not ugly. Perhaps I'd have been more understanding.

Island Designer? A few seconds per tile.
Imagining a location? A few years.

It's painful. I need the game to speed up so I'm not waiting for the hours to do a simple chore.

This I wanted Wario Daisy or Pauline or Yoshi.
It would've been so cool. Toadette would've been alright and I love characters in general so I hope she comes in an update.

But why they're so hesitant to ever give us some cool characters so play in mainline mario games is annoying. And I don't get why the likes of Daisy is left out because she was introduced in a gamebody game or something but Toadette is a mainstay because she was introduced in Double dash! I don't get the logic. Nintendo being nintendo I guess...

But I do believe some aspects of this game were in fact terrible.

I am by no means some kind of Pokemon fanboy but I was dissatisfied and I want it to be better. Ive played the games casually since gen4/5, I havent bought every entry but on Switch I was excited for a home console pokemon and let down heavily.

That's not the case for everyone but I do think the amount of discontent surrounding these games does not come from a place of malice. Just genuinely disappointed fans and casuals who wanted more.
