I would definitely do this if I wasn't such a cheapo. I don't want to download crappy games that I have no interest in and review them. Besides, I already waste enough time on the internet as it is! (not that reviewing game is a waste of time....oh, you know what I mean!)
The video has some nice and relaxing music but I think I'll pass. For some reason, I really like Monkey Ball Billiards even though it's just a mini within the second main game.
It's a pretty cool channel that I've been waiting for ever since Japan got it, but I was hoping it would have more DS demos than that. Where are some of the earlier games like Mario Kart DS and Brain Age 1? (although I already have those so it doesn't REALLY matter)
I wonder if they changed the voices in this release as some people have been murmuring about in the forums. For those who don't know, 4Kids no longer takes care of Pokemon anymore and Nintendo replaced all of the original voice actors. Does anybody know if you can turn off the voices in PPL?
It's great that imports are continually coming but I'm not a big fan of shooters...I'd prefer to see what Dracula X is all about.
And on a related note, when is the US going to get Mario's Super Picross? I believe that's the only import game from the original Hanabi Festival to never come to North America, correct?
@ pdrydia It's from the newest issue, V229 with Guitar Hero Aerosmith on the cover and as NintendoBrad said, only the top 5 are listed, which is a shame. I wonder if SNES Star Fox made it into the top 10 at least....
Australia has no reason to complain about no C64 games, only America. Why? Well, can't you guys just change your system to being from any European country and then you can get Europe-exclusive games? I remember you guys talking about it when the TurboGraphx was not in Australia.
Yes!! Finally the Nintendo Channel is announced for the US...but what took so long? I'm sure we missed plenty of demos for the DS during that time unless they keep all the demos there all of the time.
I don't own any of the top 5 games...but that's only because I already have them in some form or another. You really can't blame anyone for these games being on the list because 90% of them are great games. The only ones that concern me are that people are getting ripped off of games like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man since the NES versions aren't quite up to par with the arcade versions they may be expecting.
It's just like what I said for Yoshi's Cookie when it was released: Why don't they just release both versions of the game when they were multi-platform? Sure, it may be more work but don't they want us to have the same options as we had back when they originally came out? It makes no sense to just choose for us.
Oh, and I've only ever played EJ on the N64 and that didn't give me a good impression but based on the comments here, I guess should still check the original anyway, huh?
@Rapadash6 I wouldn't call that a good reason to spend 5 bucks on each Megaman game though. I mean, I have the collection for the PS2 and I'm perfectly fine with it.
I'm going to be checking out River City Ransom when it comes out but the others.....pass. Plus, the only reason I'm really interested in RCR at all is for the classic "Barf!" that I have yet to experience first-hand. (that IS this game, right?)
I'd rather have an N64 controller as Bensei and a few others have said. Currently, no controller options emulate it well because of the sheer amount of buttons and it's shape. It's just not the same to use a C stick in place of C buttons. (it's also harder)
My C64 wishlist: Bring the system to the US VC! I mean, come on Nintendo, what possible reason could they have for not bringing the system over to the US? It's not like it never came out here. (I would also list some games I would like to see but I'm too young to have played any)
Heheh, wow, this brings back memories. I haven't been on that website for like 3 years now since I promised myself not to go on it. The reason? Simple, I spent waaaay too much time on that site but this is still great news.
I hope we do get the Sega CD, although as Dark Jinjo stated, it's probably not going to happen since it's a pretty complicated piece of equipment and Nintendo can't even emulate some of their own stuff such as Mode 7, passwords in games such as Kid Icarus, and rumble in N64 games.
Why doesn't Nintendo just release both versions of a game at the same time? Like with Yoshi's Cookie, they just release both SNES and NES versions and let US decide if we want to get a better game or spend less money. Don't make the decision for us, Nintendo! (same thing with Wario's Woods and I believe Bubble Bobble or something had multiple versions as well)
This is the list I gave them in order from least wanted to most wanted but I really wish it was top 10 and actually had an influence on what games would appear. Top 5 wanted Virtual Console games: #5: Earthbound Zero (NES) (finished but never released) #4: Earthbound (SNES) #3: Star Fox 2 (SNES) (finished but never released) #2: Star Fox (SNES) #1: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars (SNES)
If numbers 5 and 3 are not eligible, then I would have: #5: Marble Madness (NES) #4: Earthbound (SNES) #3: Sonic the Hedgehog (Master Sytem) #2: Star Fox (SNES) #1: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars (SNES) Oh, and remember guys, you can't send them games from systems that aren't on the VC yet.
Even though this is probably an early April Fool's Day joke, I hope this is true. The VB wasn't all that bad actually, I mean Wario Land was on it, 3D Tetris was on it and this one Punch-Out-type game was on it and they are all supposedly pretty good.
I hope it's just this one game that's 500 points because I was looking forward to 400 point games at last. Somehow, people always get stuck with 400 points...
So, is this system going to remain exclusive to Europe since it didn't originally come out in North America? It seems a bit of a shame but the prices are a bit high.
Yeah, I have 3 bongos (mainly because Gamestop was practically giving them away) but it will be nice to have a reason to use them again. I hope this game is good for being so expensive!
Yeah, I have 3 bongos (mainly because Gamestop was practically giving them away) but it will be nice to have a reason to use them again. I hope this game is good for something so expensive!
I hope the C64 reaches our shores in the US although it does stink that they are all being priced at 500 points when it seems like most of the games don't deserve such a high price point.
Is there an option to have health spelled correctly? I'm sure if I bought that game I would be really annoyed every time I would look at it. (yeah, I know that's a bit obsessive...)
Hmm....maybe North America will only get imported systems if imported games do well.... Come one everybody! Buy The Lost Levels and Sin & Punishment so we get more systems like this one!
I thought this game was awesome. I almost got 100% in the game too but my sister deleted the file......man was I angry, but at least the game was fun enough to play again. Also, it should be noted that the game had some pretty decent minigames in it as well. The puddle one was very unique.
Hey, Sega weeks are great and all but when are going to get Zero Wing!!? I mean, that game is awesome! (I'm just kidding but it would be cool to see it on the VC)
This game seems a lot better than I thought it was going to be but until I know the price and the VC:R's final review comes, I'm going to remain semi-skeptical.
Kevin, you know you can just get the Mega Man anniversary collection for the GCN or PS2? It probably costs like $15 used and $20 new so that would be like 3 or 4 NES mega man games. OH, and for Vectorman, there is the Sega Genesis Collection for the PS2 and PSP if you have them.
When is the US going to get the Nintendo Channel or whatever it was called? Japan has had it for almost 2 months and we have to wait?.................for what? There can't be too much to do.......oh well.
Luigi: Yes! We've finally entered the real wor-AHH! Mario, whata happened! Youra girl! Mario: Uh, I can explain. Peach appears as a muscle-bound man in a dress Peach: Yes, please.

Re: Cho Aniki
After seeing the link in StarDust's post....I'm scared. I'm not going to come anywhere near this game if it comes to the US.
Re: Playtest: The Shaft Virtual Console joystick
If it was cheaper, I'd get it. But at $40? Pass.

Re: ESRB Update: EarthBound Finally Coming To Virtual Console!
YES! Now hopefully it'll be released at least in the next few months. I don't know if I can stand waiting another year for it.

Re: WiiWare: Pop Pricing Still Unconfirmed
The game needs to be 500 points, no casual shopper will buy a popping game for more than that.
Re: South Korea gets their own Virtual Console
@ Roo
Hey! What's wrong with Wario's Woods? That's a good game albeit the SNES version would have been better.
Re: US VC Releases - 28th April - Double Dragon
Only one game? Oh well, it's not like I really need more games anyway. I never beat the ones I already have! XD

Wow, the digitized speech is really erm..........something. (but definitely impressive for the time) I might get this if it comes to the US.
Re: EU VC Releases - 11th April - C64 And Master System Madness
I hope the US gets the Commodore 64 considering the SMS was supposed to be OUR exclusive system. Please, Nintendo!? Make it happen!

Re: Mega Turrican
Are the Turrican games more like Metroid or Gunstar Heroes? I downloaded Gunstar but was disappointed while with the 2D Metroids, I have a good time.
Re: DoReMi Fantasy: Milon’s DokiDoki Adventure
It's a bit strange that the US is getting Import games again when they never received Mario's Super Picross from the last time there were imports.
Re: WiiWare interview - Plättchen Twist 'n' Paint (Bplus)
Yeah, I have 3 bongos (mainly because Gamestop was practically giving them away) but it will be nice to have a reason to use them again. I hope this game is good for being so expensive!

I have it on the Sega Genesis collection but only played it for a bit. I didn't enjoy what little I played but it was just kinda blah in my opinion.
