The Mario Twitter Meme Cycle: an ok or somewhat funny joke is Tweeted -> it takes off like crazy -> tons of tasteless “variations” are made of it, sometimes with very few actually funny ones -> it eventually dies out -> an ok or somewhat funny joke is Tweeted
I'm suddenly reminded of this one Brazilian (I think it was Brazilian) board game "based" on SMRPG, "based" as in the designer probably saw just the box art and decided to make something off of that
@Silly_G Better yet, don't buy any of the recent ports at all because the guy who has the rights to this specific Keen game is a racist piece of human garbage
I don't think Goombas actually die, they just use black magic to warp themselves back to Bowser's current hideout so they can be reinflated by a Koopa and sent back out again
I don't exactly "hate" anime, but I am incredibly tired of 99% of people taking heavy influence from it for their works, especially like Smash fancomics or animation
So that's why I'm opting to take inspiration from G.I. Joe instead for one of my two planned Smash fic universes
@TG16_IS_BAE To be fair, the Glory Kill mechanic was really based on a mechanic from Doom 4 1.0, which was in development years before Mark shat out Brutal Doom
I was interested up until I read that it was Piko handling it. I'd rather not support a bunch of jerks who refuse to release unmodified prototypes (alongside the completed builds) for us preservationists to, uh, preserve (like they did with Socks the Cat Rocks the Hill).
EDIT: Turns out that wasn't exactly Piko for Socks, but I do recall them doing the same ***** for other games
if it weren't Smash-related I'd be very pissed off at Nintendo rn but I think the competitive community deserves it for being 99% garbage in general and ***** on me and my fic ideas
@KingMike NES Super Turrican's a bit of an enigma, as it takes some levels from Turrican 1 and 2 and heavily modifies them, along with adding its own flairs (such as music from Enforcer, a C64 game Manfred Trenz did in 1992).
They stopped calling it "Action Force" in 1990 or so and did a mini-comic in an issue of Transformers explaining the name change to "G.I. Joe The Action Force":
@DJ_Cheemstar Well, honestly, I can't comment on that entirely because I've never played Overwatch, and (not to get too political) I probably never will (along with not wanting it to have any representation in Smash) because, well, Blizzard.
(No, that doesn't mean I don't think it deserves have representation, just that I don't want it in)
From my point of view, no one truly "deserves" to get in Smash. They can all get in, as long as they properly originate from a video game and have good enough moveset potential (which Steve certainly does have, so I don't quite think it's too high of a bar either).
@Stocksy This is the retail version of the Turrican compilation, which is rather unfairly even more cut down compared to the SLG version according to here:
"As revealed in a 1993 developer interview, the character was known as ‘Twinkle Popo’ until the game was finished and it was decided a name change was in order to better appeal to American kids."
Or rather, Popopo, as "Twinkle Popo" was the name for the setting
And "Popopo" fit with some of the other naming schemes anyways (Dedede, Lololo, Lalala)
If they're gonna do a Kirby movie I'd like some of the cast to be actors from RBAY's English dub and some of my own personal picks like Trace Beaulieu (the first voice of Crow from MST3K) as Taranza

Turrican, and there's still hope going off the Retro Gamer interview from November
Re: Talking Point: Is Zelda An RPG, Or Not?
No, and it has no right being associated with that garbage genre

Re: Hell Yes! DOOM And DOOM II Just Got Another Add-On, And It's Out Today
@3RedTriangles No, because
1. They'd have to throw out the Unity-wrapped engine work for GZDoom and there's a ***** ton of licensing issues with that
2. Brutal Doom isn't that good of a mod (at least IMO)
3. The creator of Brutal Doom is literal human garbage
Re: Japan's 'Super Mario-kun' Manga Series Gets An English-Language Release For The First Time
@mrmememan Again, that's from a different manga, it's called KC Mario and is chock-full of crazy ***** like that
Re: Japan's 'Super Mario-kun' Manga Series Gets An English-Language Release For The First Time
@BoyfriendOfDeath I actually have checked out a few scanlations in the past, but they only do the first few or so chapters (which are based on SMW)
@mrmememan Unfortunately, that's a completely separate manga
I honestly really hope they do a rerelease of the Valiant comics
