This was the main reason I was ordering physical copies of games. Without the discount, I may as well go digital to get the extra gold coins. Not before I pre-order smash brothers, though.
I go in phases. I will drop a good 15 or 20 hours into Minecraft on the PC or my Switch, and then not touch it for months. Then, I pick it up again and the addiction returns!
I will be pre-ordering this one. I am just playing thru the last one on an old Xbox 360 I picked up. I really appreciate Bethesda's support for the Switch, and Panic Buttons skill at porting them over.
I never was a big Pokemon game fan. I just could not get past the first 10 or 15 minutes of any of them. The only recent thing that has tempted me was "Detective Pikachu" - I played the demo and enjoyed it. I sure understand why others are so addicted to the series, though.
@Yorumi - you mention that Nintendo has proven they cannot support two systems... They have been supporting at least two systems since the NES/Gameboy days, and have literally never had less than two systems available - a dedicated handheld and a console. I think they do just fine handling two systems...
Why would Nintendo discontinue it's line of gaming machines in the $80 - $200 range and ONLY have a solution in the $300 range? Especially since those gaming machines sell ten of thousands every month? It makes perfect sense to keep it alive. If you as an individual do not want more 3DS games, don't buy them.
Very excited about this one. I played the Wolfenstein from around 2009 or so and really liked it. I was a big fan of Doom on the Switch, but I will also really enjoy the story elements added to Wolfenstein. Day one!
I still have the C64 cartridge for this. If only I had a working C64... I always enjoyed this game - I pumped a lot more than $8.00 worth of quarters into it in the '80's!
He is my favorite in Mario Kart 8. I love it when he says "Everybody cheated..." When he loses. When you read that, you read it in his voice - didn't you.
I really wanted to like this game, but the constant death just got to me. I do enjoy the lore, and I certainly see the appeal. I will probably get it again anyways.... Sigh...
I am excited about the video capture! Several times I wished I could show my son a replay of a great shot. I am so happy they continue to support this game.
@stevenw45 One Terabyte SD cards don't exist, friend. If you bought one claiming to be a Terabyte, you got had. Some places sell big ones that are actually just small ones with fake formatting to make them appear large. Go beyond the 8 or 16 gigs they really are and your data get corrupted.
I think $40 would be a fair price for this game. I am tempted to just pick it up on the Wii U for $20. I still use mine almost as much as I use my Switch.
My son loves this game on his PS4 - it is pretty great. I cannot imagine any purpose for this to come to IOS or Android. Without any real controls, shooters kinda suck on those platforms. This would rock on the Switch, though. The cartoony graphics would be a great match. Don't waste time and resources on an mediocre mobile game, bring this to switch!
I have heard great things about this game. I will get this for sure.
A message for all you whining little kids bellyaching about ports - go hang out on the PS4 or Xbox one sites if you are not happy with the Switch and it's releases.
I never thought that Bayonetta would be my kind of game, but I got it on the 20% off Amazon Prime deal. Boy, was I wrong! What a fantastic game! I already put over six hours into it since I got it yesterday. I am looking forward to trying out Bayonetta 2 as soon as I finish this off. This is easily an 8.5 in my book.
@Racthet916 Please show us your rendition of the BOTW Castle that you have created that is better than this. We will wait right here until you post your pictures
I picked up L.A. Noire on sale this weekend and have put a few hours into that, and I am still playing Darkest Dungeon. Although I will admit that Darkest Dungeon is wearing a bit thin with all the grinding and regrinding the early dungeon the early dungeon just to level up new characters.
@Octane To quote @Octane - "Ever since Atari bought the franchise, it has gone downhill really fast" Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that what Roller Coasters are SUPPOSED to do??? 😂😂😂😂😂 Thank you, thank you... I will be here all week...
Getting used to the controls and some of the aspects of the game for upgrading your party take a bit of time, but it is worth it. I have been really enjoying the game, and discover new aspects of it every day.
My son plays the daylights out of this game on his PS4. It is quite good, and the graphics style would complement the Switch nicely. I would certainly buy it. Cross platform play would be nice, too.
I still use my Wii U for Breath of the wild and for Netflix. There are several games I will continue to pray on it for years to come. I do love my Switch, though.
I was thinking $30 to $40 would be the price point for these. Cool enough to interest kids, but inexpensive enough to interest parents. No cartridge, just the materials and a download code would be fine at that price point.
Dear author of this article, cardboard is the exact opposite of "Brittle". Brittle things crack and snap and crumble. Cardboard bends and is pliable. You may want to edit the wording and remove the word brittle.
I would love to have YouTube and Netflix on my Switch. I currently use my Wii U for Netflix many times per week. It sure would be convenient to have it on my Switch. I do miss themes like I have on my 3DS, and also the catchy tunes from the eShop!
I played this on my stepson's PS4 - and I can vouch that it is a total blast! The humor is fantastic, and the graphics are perfect for this game. The fact the players who are knocked out can do crazy things like cause a shark to attack other players is so incredibly fun! I agree with a 7.5 or even an 8 score on this one.
@Sandvich422 So help me understand... Your tip in a nutshell, is to strip naked, then sneak up and punch elderly, praying men in the back of the head? You need a new hobby, my friend.. 😂😂😂😂😂
@Oubie Oh my, Skyrim will deliver a massive RPG and a great story! So many people have put so many hundreds of hours into this game because it really is incredible! I own it on PS3, PC and we have it on our PS4 - and I am still excited to get it on the switch and play it again.
This was on my must buy list until the reviews came out. Ug. The stuttering is just not acceptable. The graphics are so much like Wind Waker - and they can't even make it perform as well as the original GameCube version. If they manage to patch it, I will consider it.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Sorry you did not good value out of the hundreds of hours of Zelda you likely played for $59.95 - maybe Nintendo will read your post, and then start releasing games for free just to please you.
Wow.... Great news! I found nothing misleading about the article. After reading these comments, it looks like a lot of people are whining just a bit because they just read a headline, and not the entire article, and then they were not quite as excited once they actually READ the article. I, too wondered if Bluetooth headphones would work work, then read the article and UNDERSTOOD. Then, I conveniently moved on with life without whining.
Except... Now I am whining about whiners... Geez...
@LegendOfPokemon They did say it beat every other console's launch on day one, and it was a third above their target, so they set the bar at least as high as other console's launch sales
I am about halfway through Oxenfree, and really enjoying it. I also will play some more Metroid Samus returns on my 3DS, and the new Skyrim survival mode on my PC.
I would have been thrilled if they would have added some unique motion controls for the puzzles. We waited long enough for our version, they should have thrown us a bone. I am excited about here HD Rumble, though. I love that feature!
I bought the game for my son and I - and I liked it OK. He really enjoyed the sandbox mode. I kept thinking that it felt kind of "Beta" when I was playing it. Looks like the update may have solved some of my complaints. I will play it some more and see how nice the improvements are.
