We're just weeks away from the launch of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus on Switch, but if you're finding yourself in desperate need of new footage, you're definitely in the right place.
The video above was uploaded by the folks at Nintendo World Report TV who have shared some juicy hands-on footage of the game from E3. This gameplay shows what Wolfenstein II looks like running in handheld mode, and you can watch nine whole minutes of non-stop action. We think it's looking very nice indeed, and we're sure you'll agree.
If you want even more polished goodness, and if you missed it the first time around, make sure to check out the game's official Switch trailer, too. Remember that Panic Button is handling the Switch port of the game, just like it did to great success with DOOM, so we have pretty high hopes for this latest Switch offering.
There isn't long to go until that 29th June release date - are you looking forward to this one? Let us know if you'll be buying a copy in the comments below.

Port looks solid so far
My sister pre-ordered me this for my birthday! Can't wait.
Pre-ordered it already
This is going to be fun I know it. I will enjoy the last full 3d game Bethesda they bring to the switch.
It looks good but I can't pick this up unfortunately.
If they put the whole game on a cartridge I would.
Never played any Wolfenstein game but that’s about to change. I’ve had this preordered for quite a bit now. I cannot wait to play this it looks FANTASTIC!!
Looks fantastic imo. I've predownloaded on the eshop so just waiting for it to Drop now. Can't wait 👌
Shame there is no physical version or I would pick this up.
Day one of course. @Giygas_95 you have a great sister there bud.
@NintendoFan4Lyf
They did definitely improve it a bit when they released the patch that added motion controls. I suppose you can always tinker with it, but I'm pretty sure Doom is going to stay the way it is now. If any patches come out for it, we're probably talking about very minor fixes.
It looks amazing. My only complaint after watching the video was that the AI seems dumbed down. Why are the enemy units just standing there and not moving around? I haven't played the game before so maybe that is what it is like on the other platforms.
@Nebnosneh
Where you live, you're not getting a physical version?? If not, I guess you could always import a copy.
@Lordplops Indeed I do.
This looks really good, and also keep in mind this looks like a video of gameplay. It's going to look better in person.
@Nebnosneh there will be a physical release
I'm going to have to get the digital version. I don't see the point of buying a physical copy with a required download. I want my games to be playable after all the online services have been taken down.
I’ll be buying
Great. Awesome game, even the DLC was good. If not played it -should definitely pick it up.
Love Wolfenstein - Time for young blood 😊
Undocked is looking legit.
Day 1. Crap that looks good.
@Savino think it’s a sarcastic comment on the fact that you have to download most of it. It’s subtle but I’m sure that what he’s trying to say.
Looks like they're outright toggling off certain texture and filter effects entirely in undocked mode.
Which is probably the smart move.
@NintendoFan4Lyf
Oh totally, Panic Button has become one of my favorite studios these days. They've proven that they are no joke and can really work magic to keep the essence of the game even though they absolutely gut the file sizes. Doom was a great port cause it still maintained the feel and essence of Doom. Not easy to accomplish for sure.
so does it come with the DLC or not? Because if not, no way am I paying $60 for a game I can get for $20 on PS4
Hahahaha, look they've got Wolfenstein 2 running on a portable.
Day 1.
@Savino
Seriously.
@wolfhammerr
It may be dumbed down for the E3 demo. Usually demos in these kind of events are set on super easy difficulty.
However I can't be sure, so please double-check gameplay videos of the final retail version.
Looks very, very good. Quite impressive.
@NintendoFan4Lyf They already updated DOOM and it looks and plays even better. You probably missed it.
@Nebnosneh there is a physical version! Lol
@Akira_1975 huh that makes zero sense
@Zuljaras buy an SD card they cost nothing
@wolfhammerr could be on an easy difficulty maybe. The game is essentially the same as PS4 with lower graphics quality
@PinkSpider So? If I wanted to go digital I would just buy it from the eshop. When I buy physical game I want to be played off the cartridge alone. I will NOT buy physical DRM key.
Especially for a single player only game.
I am ok for DLCs but this is insulting.
Either do it right or dont do it at all. The shelf space is nothing for me. I hope it serves them well. They got my money with skyrim and doom but wolfenstein 2 they will get nothing at least from me.
@ryancraddock Do we know if or when the dlc will be released?
I am very tempted by the game after I tried Doom but before preordering I want to know if I can play the "whole" game.
Good luck gaming in the future when physical games don't exist. You would be better off with a PS4 or Xbox for the time being i guess as all you have to do is install a mandatory part of the game.
I will be pre-ordering this one. I am just playing thru the last one on an old Xbox 360 I picked up. I really appreciate Bethesda's support for the Switch, and Panic Buttons skill at porting them over.
@PinkSpider that "future" is far away. Also physical media will never go away. It just needs to be good.
On xbox and ps4 you can install the game from the discs and play it right away no download needed. Only small number of games are breaking this rule.
I do want it but already budgeted for next month. Also I don’t want to have to buy a memoru card so will likely skip this one for now. Had it been entirely on the card then may have caved in but not if i need to buy extra. May end up being the first full game I buy digital; once a sizeable discount occurs and i’ve acquired an SD card.
Looking good. I just wish they weren't charging full price for it, especially without dlc.
@FX102A
Keep your eyes open for micro SD card deals. I just got a 128 GB for $31. The prices are becoming very reasonable.
It's still a poo game
Getting it. Physical.
Daaammmmnn, this looks great!!
Looks far better than the Doom port imo
Anyone care to recommend a memory card for Switch? I don't know what to look for in them... I have DOOM downloaded on Switch and if I want to download this I'm gonna have to invest in one. Thanks in advance for any help!
@Grant007 I meant, I'll get the digital version. There's no point in getting the physical if you don't get the entire playable game.
@Mando44646, still love how people compare prices to PS4, it's been out for months on the ps4, so 60 for a portable seems good to me , is Vita getting a version of this game for cheaper we don't know about ?
I read the comments and I am baffled. So I have to download a portion of the single player campaign if I buy the retail version?
Doom and Skyrim play from the card. Obviously one should download the updates but they function.
@Brett_is_dead thats how competition works. How long its been out elsewhere doesn't matter. Typically when games arrive late on other platforms, it includes DLC to make up a bit for the higher pricepoint. See Tomb Raider's port to PS4, for instance. It included all paid DLC sold separately on XBO while it was only on that platform. Its a good pro-consumer practice
@belmont Right, so far all indications point to a download being required to play the single player game. The cartridge will save you from having to download a large portion of the game but that's about it. If this is all true, then I'll get the digital version. I don't see the point of buying a physical copy for only a portion of the game.
Isn't it the same whether it's docked or undocked? 720p and 30fps?
@Akira_1975 OK thanks. I was looking forward to it but if this is indeed the case I may simply get the digital version.
So I checked local retailers. In the box art it says "Internet Download Required"!!!!
That wraps this up they chose the cheap cartridge. Now if they tell what their plans for DLC are.
Preordered instantly after been announced.
Looking very good. Can't wait for this!
@Mando44646 negative , tomb raider was a whole year , it was an Xbox exlusive at first , you can't compare home console release to a portable , Wolfenstein on the switch is the only portable version ever , can't compare the ps4(Home) to switch (Portable)like you can PS4 to Xbox which are pretty much the same damn system.
I don't have a shooter for the switch yet. Maybe this will be my first.
@Giygas_95
Lucky you, can I have your sister? haha
I didn't like the look of this video... is it supposed to look foggy and smudgey (new word?) everywhere more than 2 metres away from the character or is that mostly part of this video capture you think? If this is not the video's fault but the look the dev is going for it'll not be for me; I'd prefer plainer graphics but sharper.
Or... It's just my very tired eyes (new father of 2)
@Brett_is_dead thats nonsense. Nintendo themselves calls Switch a home console first and foremost. It released Oct 27, over 7 months ago (as of when this releases). It is a late port and is not worth $60, as most of us already have a PS4, XBO, or PC to play it on for a fraction of the cost
@Mando44646 nintendo can say what they want , it's a portable(With somewhere between ps3 and PS4 graphics ) with a dock that hooks up to your tv . The whole beauty of the switch is the portable form , anyone thinking otherwise is kidding themselves . Let me know how playing it in your PS4 in handheld works out , simply impressive it's running so smooth , remember when people said switch will never have current gen games running on it . Lol
@Brett_is_dead Why does it matter what they call it?? I can play it anywhere portably... It looks fantastic... The end.
@Pod I used to care - now I just look and think “looks great plus I can play anywhere”. 5 seconds after I start playing I’m not noticing which effects are on or off. This looks fantastic.
Having to download after buying physical however - now that is damn annoying. Meanwhile I’m sure there will be a day 1 patch even if they release it all on the cart.... #stopitalready
So, undocked confirmed to be sub 30fps with framepacing issues. This looks like the low 20’s.
Hoping the higher clock speeds when docked will improve the situation.
I don't know if it's cuz I know how amazing it looks on PS4 but this looks awful just like it did in the trailer. Maybe not completely awful but really, the graphics look almost nothing like the PS4 version other than the particle effects. Lighting and textures are no where near PS4. This is like Doom and Rocket League but way worse. Panic Button really sucks. Shame 3 of Switch's best games get ported by a studio that can barely handle the task. If only Bluepoint could've done it.
Ugh...you shot a dog. DOGS ARENT NAZIS!
@Akira_1975 you can sell it, or lend it. I hate digital games.
It looks nice, runs well, the lightings are good, shadows are there and looks good, post-processing effects looks good, textures look a bit blurry but understandable from 4GB of ram the switch has.
Hmmm its o.k. Some of those textures looks rough though and you notice some graphical popping about six seconds in.
Do we know how big the download will be if the physical version is purchased?
@FTL not relevant to the discussion. I wasn't the one who brought up definitions as a way to take a stance either way
@Mando44646 It was completely relevant to the comment made by the person I intended to reply to - my apologies as it wasn’t you - fixed.
