Was going to buy this on PS4 until the grumblings of it maybe coming to Switch. I really love my RPGs portable now, and my patience has paid off. Cant wait to get this one!

@PBandSmelly First, blow on the cartridge. Then push the cartridge in as much as it will go and move the cartridge back and forth rapidly while pushing the power button over and over until the screen comes on.

After 5 minutes of that, give up, grab a magnifying glass and go burn some ants. If hairspray and a lighter is handy, it can make a pretty good impromptu flamethrower.

Wait MyNinendo is the same thing as the Switch purchase rewards? I dont have a 3ds or Wii u, so I've never really thought about joining MyNintendo. We can get gold coins to use in the shop though?

Yeah no way a new console doesn't have joycons. A new switch with an OLED screen and more refined finishes like the vita would be nice. But yeah, still totally expecting joycons.

5 hours for main story, 8 hours for main + extras, 11 hours for 100% via howlongtobeat.

Looks cool but I'll probably wait until it's around 10 bucks if it ever gets there.

One thing I'm confident of, if this is a port to the switch, it will be awesome. There is no way CD Project Red would allow their baby to release under any platform as a trainwreck. Still not sure if this is true, but if we find out it is....get excited.

@sportvater Either way but I'm using a walkthrough this time around so I dont miss anything. There really isn't a ton of missables. There's an html guide on ganefaqs that is pretty darn good. Just remember it's based on the international zodiac age so it doesn't know you can switch jobs later.

While I'm okay with your score, this game is a 10 in my book. It is such a huge improvement over the original. I love the speed up features and the way you can go back and reset both of your jobs. It's so freaking good, and has a grown up story. Just amazing game to me. The original would be an 8, but this is a 10. RPG fans that have never played this, it's a must own!

If you haven't played Shining Force Sword of Hajya, go get it!

I am so excited to play this in handheld form. There are so many great games that came out in the PS2 era that would be amazing on the go. Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, and Star Ocean to name a few. We probably wont get those, but a man can dream..

This is the only "mini" I would be interested in. Shining Force 3, Dragon Force, Panzer Dragoon Saga is all I need. Maybe throw in an English localization of Dragon Force 2, yeah buddy.

Best game of all time. My 15 yr old nephew who is really into games, just spent the time to play this one. It became his favorite game of all time too. When I started telling him about Chocobo farming to get the gold chocobo and mime/knights of the round, it blew his mind. I've beaten it about 8 times, but starting to get the itch again. For all my Nintendo friends that have never played it, buy it, play it, use a guide for all the secrets, and absolutely have a blast.

Not really interested in cuphead but this game looks awesome.

@impurekind exactly. And who knows if they have a bunch of part time employees and temps that drag down the daily work hours.

I don't get it...I played the demo for let's go pikachu and it wasn't fun at all. I'm an rpg guy but just can't get the appeal of this stuff.

As a home console guy that skipped the Wii U generation, I was really excited about Fire Emblem for Switch. The school thing is definitely a downer though....its so overplayed, the trails playstation series...persona..ff type 0...list goes on. However as the preview went on, it looked like it has a more serious tone and some of the mechanics look pretty neat. But man, that new school battle stuff looks great. I love how it's still the same feel but it zooms in from the over view and shows the attack happen while you can still see the other units. It immediately sold me on it. Here's hoping the story isn't kiddie and they don't have a bunch of squealing kid voice acting.

I like how this site always gets grief for rating games 8 and 9 all the time, but then when a 7 comes, you got people complaining and saying nah man, should be an 8...

@tameshiyaku you'll get past that. I remember running around for about an hour trying to find a quest marker before I got pissed and quit. The next day I looked it up online and was like...oh... It was right up that little bridge thing.

One thing I'd recommend though is learning how to take advantage of topple, launch, smash etc early on. It's not explained too well, and makes the battle system even more fun than it already is.

@nkarafo if you don't have a PS youre missing out. They have some ridiculously good exclusives too. No reason you can't support both companies!

I thought this game was boring. I've always felt that it got attention because of one of the plot twists that I won't share here. Honestly though, once I made it through the game I felt that some of my life had been wasted.
