Marvelous Europe and XSEED Games have confirmed that Senran Kagura: Peach Ball will launch on Nintendo Switch in the west. The game is expected to release this summer.
We first heard about this one way back in August 2017, when series producer Kenichiro Takaki revealed that the project was something he had "always wanted to do". The game is the latest entry in the genre-spanning Senran Kagura franchise, this time featuring a pinball twist. We have a description, taken straight from an official press release today, for you to check out below:
So...this is going to take some explaining. Haruka, the mad scientist of Homura’s Crimson Squad, is up to her usual experiments again, brewing up mysterious concoctions with unknown effects. Unfortunately for her fellow shinobi, she’s chosen the local arcade she works at as her laboratory, storing her experiments in the bathroom. After an accidental outbreak infects five of her shinobi friends, she learns that her latest concoction can transform those exposed it into animals, at least mentally.
Now, with Asuka, Yumi, Yomi, Ryona, and Murasaki causing wild havoc in and around the arcade, Haruka has devised a way to return these shinobi to their senses – the mystical Peach Ball. Applied to a subject’s body repeatedly, with the proper vibrational force, it can undo the effects of her experiment. Conveniently, it’s just the right size for a pinball table. Now all Haruka needs is a skilled assistant to operate the table, bopping each shinobi girl with the ball until she comes around.
You can see a brand new trailer for the game below. (Note: The video contains suggestive themes and an unsurprising lack of pinball content).
Here's a screenshot of some of that missing pinball content, should you be interested.
The game will launch in Europe, North America and Australia this summer; it has been confirmed that North America will receive a limited edition physical release which will be available from select retailers.
Will you be keeping an eye on this one? Why not 'bop' your way down to our comments section below?

Excellent news. I've been really hoping that this one would get localised ever since it was announced for Japan. I'll try to import a physical copy if it's NA only.
Yay boobies! Sorry, I mean pinball. Yay pinball!
i love pinball! so i'm look forward to getting this game.
"an unsurprising lack of pinball content" 😂😂 ah I love it. I'll be purchasing if not only for the laughs but clearly the titilation 😋
Let's not and say we did not
Hopefully it'll be good pinball, although I must say it's not quite what I expected. I thought the characters were going to be "the table" (in effect), but this just seems to have a fairly small character model in the middle of the screen. Still, as I say, could be good.
I've heard this game is pretty bad...
Have the Japanese CE, but will gladly buy an English physical release if I'm able to.
@JaxonH Personaly I enjoyed it.
I’ll get it for the riveting pinball action.
I'm surprised this is getting a physical release.
Anyway, I'm game. It looks like dumb fun.
It looks fun but for a non main Senran Kagura game it is very pricey at €40
The rhytm game on the Vita was the same simple spin-off setup but that game is €15.
Sweet, now I don't have to inport this one. Gotta get em all Pinballmon.
@tobibra Does the JP version have English text?
Ah, Japan. Never change.
Day one physical release! I'm uber excited for this game!
Oh this one actually looks cool! No idea if I'll actually rub one out because of it, but the titilation looks fun anyway. 🙃
@Sveakungen Sadly not. Unless they patched it in lately, sommoste likely it still does not.
Oh my, I just recently wondered if this would happen. Definitely a good thing, even if the game itself is not particularly stellar.
If it's actually good, then maybe....then again it's releasing in the summer. You know...when Mario Maker 2 releases? lol
I like the way they show actual gameplay in the preview (not).
Limited physical release for me, yes indeed.
@Joeynator3000 Mario can allways wait a bit, Mario Maker 2 is very unlikely to sell out that fast
What? No Rin in this game?
what... did I just watch? O_O XD
@Joeynator3000 I don't think Mario Maker 2's launch is going to have much of an effect on this game's sales either way.
@TempOr I think it's $40 USD from Xseed's store. But found no info if they ship internationally.
@MisterDevil the game's intro.
@KingdomHeartsFan There’s a reason why you watch them. Let’s see if you can realize why.
Not enough pinball games on the switch. This looks good. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I never got the appeal of stuff like this - but then again, if you knew what I'm into, you'd be confused too.
40 bucks because of the physical release tax I would assume.
This plot sounds about right for a Japanese game. Haha. I was browsing the Japanese eshop the other day and my little 4 year old daughter saw the thumbnail for this and wanted to see it. She thought it was cute and wanted to play it and I was like "yeeeaahhhh....mom probably wouldn't appreciate that." Lol
@Ralizah shrugs lol
Just realized, this spinoff STILL doesn't have my favorite girls in it, wtf?
@KingdomHeartsFan Oh wow, you figured it out pretty quickly
@KingdomHeartsFan you're such an open book...love it! 😂
@ozyr Well it is already out in Japan...... so go find the gameplay video somewhere else!
@PBandSmelly
Don't shoot the messenger.
Although I do think these types of games are useless considering... there's better stuff out there.
@PBandSmelly Why should your toddlers decide how websites are offered? Are they contributing to the discussion too?
Wow! This....this actually is pretty close to legitimately being Wayne Knight's Adult Pinball.....maybe the video wasn't an April Fool's joke after all.....
I'll have to see if it actually looks like a decent pinball game, but with as much a fan I am of the franchise it's a likely purchase for me.
this is so dumb, but hey if someone is buying i guess theres a market for it.
@invictus4000 @PBandSmelly One thing about this, and SK in general is, it's only suggestive if your mind is already in the gutter. The metaphors and euphemisms are actually well thought. For a kid that doesn't understand such things, there's nothing harmful here. For a kid that does already understand such things....good luck controlling euphemistic and suggestive content for an early pubescent pre-teen on the internet. They've probably thought of interpretations we're not even capable of thinking of....
Oh. Those are some large "peach balls" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@KingdomHeartsFan Just those delightful days of the month...it's getting worse now menopause is almost here too.
@PBandSmelly Do you also want them to keep every news related bloody violent games on a separate or is it only ecchi stuff you got a problem with? This is no more problematic than other PEGI 16+ or 18+ games.
I do love me some pinball.
No, that isn't a word swap.
@NEStalgia - I remember when middle school was nothing but penis and boob euphemisms and jokes cause that's all we thought every joke was. Literally turning the popsicle jokes into dirty ones cause puberty was a thing and we were all dumb dumb kids.
@PBandSmelly In this particular case, at least, I don't see anything wrong with this article. The video has some somewhat skimpy outfits, but that's about it. SFW news about a NSFW game shouldn't require an age lock.
Lol at 40 secs of that video...
Every day, Yumi grows closer to completely usurping mascot status of the series from Asuka.
@KingdomHeartsFan there's a difference going out of your way to show it to kids and the worry about kids stumbling into it. It's safe for them to stumble into. Nl is a Nintendo news outlet not a kids games outlet.... Doom, sk, Diablo etc aren't off limits. Even Nintendo power covered M games.
@BRAINFOX Well, Yumi is a popular character. (Asuka is my personal favorite) In one of the bonus chapters in EV they even outright joke about it by having Asukabeing worried of her status as the main character (I don't remember exactly what she said)
For all who liberally use the term NSFW, i just watched this in the office on a 24" screen, it suited.
@KingdomHeartsFan it would be possible, but I'm not sure how useful it would be since you'd need to log in to get the filter, and kids could just log out and get the normal version. And making the censored version the default would financially devastate in lost search traffic. Probably not worth the sizable/costly effort for most sites. Nintendo does the enter your age gating.... For whatever good that does for kids that can count
I think there's
@NEStalgia Uhhh... "Well thought out?" Did you watch the same trailer I just did? They strip off clothes and their ludicrously over-sized boobs are bouncing all over the place. Even if young children are oblivious to the titillation-factor of imagery like this, it can still give them some pretty messed up ideas about how young girls should dress and behave.
Seriously, who needs this sh**? Jerk off and move on, people.
@KingdomHeartsFan yeah, i do agree actually. Though, it's hard to be a family website dedicated to Nintendo content when Nintendo content now covers all ages. It reminds me of the infamous Castlevania Nintendo power cover with the severed head.
In a way i think the pretense of "for the children" regarding language should be dropped and just admit that it's because nobody wants NL to becomea cesspool like Gamefaqs
@WaxxyOne Fact: boobs are one of the first things an infant sees. I'm not trying to be too edgy, despite playing devils advocate I'm a total prude....(and very not into SK series as a result) But, i also love the hypocrisy of "kids can't see boobs, it's wrong!".... When that's the first thing shoved in their face at birth. The video has no actual nudity. Much, much worse than this is the Victoria's secret store front in every single mall in the US, and the Victoria's secret ads run during family Christmas specials on network tv in the US. Now that's racy, with nearly nude real women strutting provocatively. I find that uncomfortable as an adult along adults let alone that that airs during something watched by kids. This pales greatly. If the standards are wrong it's at a cultural level, not NL.
I could see the argument pertaining more to doom, wolf,, mk11, even SMT more than this, as that actually does have things kids really shouldn't see. Animated (or real) girls in bikinis is something thell see continuously anyway. Bleeding demon skulls isn't. Our priorities are so messed up.
@PBandSmelly Then watch what your brother and cousin are doing online. It's your responsibility to make sure they aren't seeing the wrong stuff, not the site's. Besides, any young boy who goes online nowadays has seen a nude/lewd/racy picture at least once or twice. Senran Kagura is child's play compared to the other kinky crap they have out there, and I doubt this pinball game is worse than actual porn.
I've already played the Japanese version. The game is basically knocking the girl down so you can attack her huge jugs with the pinball to score points.
@tobibra Yeah it's crazy how popular she became in Japan. Kind of a shame too since there's a lot of other great characters starving for merch while Yumi seems to get something new every other day.
@IceEarthGuard I prefer it if the actual preview video shows actual game play. If it doesn't, it is not a good indicator that the game is actually any good, IMHO.
@ozyr Well, it is called an "Announcement" trailer. Their are more than just game play trailers nowadays it seems.
I'll take 7 physical copies please.
@nintendolie sounds awesome ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@tobibra Yeah, I picked it up too. I have a habit of purchasing these games in multiples lol.
@tobibra so the Japanese import doesn't have English language support?
@AUMWolf No, only Japanese.
@tobibra ah ok, no big deal, learning Japanese anyway. Still wondering if I got the import now then an English option would be added in an update, or if it will only be in the western version?
@AUMWolf My guess would be only the western version. Atleast as far as I know, the Japanese version of Reflexions never got the english translation either
