I know it's been said many times in these comments, but I don't see how Baten Kaitos was left off the list, it's easily better than half of the games on that list. Also, I'm sure I'll get some hate for saying this, but I don't understand peoples' love of Windwaker, it was so slow and boring to me. It wouldn't even make my top 20 list of Gamecube games. My top 5 from the list are (in no particular order):
Resident Evil 4
Eternal Darkness
Fire Emblem
Rogue Squadron 2
Tales of Symphonia
I wonder who owns the license to this? It has Nintendo assets with Fox McCloud, so I would think it would be similar to the Donkey Kong games that Rare did. I loved Starfox Adventures and would love to see it as a virtual console game or even an HD remake.
@Tempestryke again, your statements make no sense. You said: "its CGI. Ergo it's Pixar." I named 3 Disney made CGI movies, which weren't made by Pixar, that were all excellent Disney animations to disprove your point. I only added the movies from DreamWorks and Fox to further illustrate that CGI isn't exclusive to Pixar as you say. I was giving further examples to demonstrate why it's ridiculous to make blanket statements as you did.
They needed to have Call of Duty Black Ops 2 on this list. I have spent countless hours playing local multilpayer with my brother in that game. I play off screen on the gamepad, while he plays on the TV. Typically against bots or in zombie mode.
@Tempestryke Your statements are ridiculous. Just because it's CGI doesn't mean it's Pixar. The 3 movies I named are done by Walt Disney. Dreamworks has made a ton of CGI movies (most famously the Shrek trilogy), Fox has made a bunch as well (See the Ice Age series). Aside from that, what does it matter if Disney makes hand drawn movies or CGI movies. As long as they are animated and good, that is all that matters.
Looks great! It reminds me of a modern Gradius. I love the humor of having his cat swing at the ship as it approaches (in the video). You can definitely tell that's a David Wise soundtrack.
@SuperiorTech @Josaku I agree with you both. I really didn't enjoy the Windwaker. The sailing was awful, the dungeons were easy, and I didn't feel engrossed by the plot. Playing it on GC was enough for me not to buy the HD version on Wii U.
@Squidkid49 I just looked into this today as well and found the same thing. I'm guessing it never actually was coming and that the GAME posting was and errant page. Oh well...
@GLA technically that poll is multiple choice, as you have multiple choices and can select one. What you mean is that the poll should be multi-select where you can select multiple options (and I agree, it should)
@TeeJay I picked up lucario at toys r us today. They had just gotten a restock before I got there. They had about 20-25 lucario and the same for greninja. I got one of each of those, plus I snagged one of the 4 lil mac's that they had. They had about a dozen captain falcons too, but I already have him. I'd suggest checking with your local toys r us this week if you have one close by.
I'm amazed that almost nobody in the comments so far have voted for Banjo-Kazooie so far. He's who I voted for, and to me is by far the best choice. That said, I'm not sure that Microsoft will play nice, even if they profit from it.
For anybody who is interested, Jigglypuff, Silver Mario, Charizard and Rosalina are available to purchase at Target.com. Additionally, the Splatoon 3 pack, the inkling boy, the inkling girl and the Dr. Mario amiibos are available for pre-order at target.com. I just ordered Rosalina and pre-ordered Dr. Mario and got the confirmation email from Target.
I pre-ordered my Ike amiibo from Gamestop back on December 29th and still have yet to receive it. The best they can tell me is "sometime in May". It's not like my not having an Ike amiibo is negatively impacting my life, but it's pretty pathetic that an amiibo pre-ordered, and promised for February, isn't arriving until maybe May. Pathetic on both Gamestop and Nintendo' s part.
@fantasytiger86 The phone call I got today from Gamestop said otherwise. They specifically said that due to the popularity of the Ike figure, they are placing a limit of one per customer in the interest of fairness.
I got a call from Gamestop today saying my Ike is coming in "later this spring", so who knows when that is. Awesome... Sucks too because I pre-ordered it on December 29th.
I pre-ordered Ike from Gamestop on December 29th and haven't gotten it yet. They originally told me February 1, that came and went. Their website said expected in on February 13, which also came and went. I called them yesterday (the 17th) and they said they are expecting Ike on the 21st, and that they have a shipment coming in Friday the 20th that MIGHT have Ike in it. I guess I'll find out soon.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii) 3. Super Mario 64 (N64) 2. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) 1. Super Mario World (SNES)
@NaturalGus the game you have been playing for 2 years is Mario Kart GP 2, as that was released in 2007. This article is about the sequel to that game, Mario Kart GP DX, which was released in the winter of 2013 in the US. See this wiki page if you want more info: http://www.mariowiki.com/Mario_Kart_Arcade_GP_DX . While they are a bit late in reporting this, this is both new and news.
@Pixel-Perfect I live in Tucson as well and keep seeing these Dave & Busters commercials. Odd since the closest locations are Tempe and Scottsdale. Pretty cool to see a fellow Tucsonan on here.
@aaronsullivan I agree with everything you said. The problem though is that Microsoft has a licensing agreement that forbids publishers from releasing a game on their console if it has previously been released on other consoles. This means that if it had come out on Wii U as planned Ubisoft could have released it on PS3 in September, but not the 360. They wanted the extra sales opportunities on the 360, so we all had to wait. If anything, blame Microsoft for their stupid policy.
I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo is looking at ways to move something like Wii Fit out in the real world even more than the Wii Fit sensor does. When I read this article I thought of Nintendo partnering with companies like Nordic Track to build a workout machine that allows interactive gaming to happen while you are working out. They could make games that help motivate and entertain you while you workout on a fitness machine. You could have your phone hooked up to the machine via BlueTooth, and post workout this machine would then send all the stats for your workout session to a Nintendo produced app for smart phones.
If the machines took off they could partner with large corporate Gym's to get these machines into their workout gym's. You could then sync your phone with these machines so they know your history, your info, preferences etc. This way no matter where you workout you will keep all your info with you, whether you are working out at home, or whatever gym you are at (so long as they have these workout machines).
Additionally, the phone app could also keep track of your distance walked, elevation change, speed and time of the walk/run, etc so that you could get that added to your stats. Just a thought.
I would definitely buy this game. I loved vice city and red dead redemption. The gamepad showing the map and weapon selection would be awesome in that sandbox environment.

@MadAdam81 Pokemon Go finally updated today in the US. I just wanted to follow up in case you haven't seen it in Australia yet.

@MadAdam81 I just checked Google Play in the states and it's not available here either. Last update was from August 7th.

@Achoo actually, the gamecube wasn't the most powerful console of its generation, it was now powerful than PS2, weaker than Xbox.
Just saw that @LeRaposa said basically the same thing. Oops.

@ThomasBW84 Oh, my bad, I thought Nintendo released gamed in Europe on Mondays and North America on Thursdays. My mistake.

@ThomasBW84 Just a heads up that you have May 26th in the title of the article rather than the 23rd.
