Re: This Switch Case Lets You Store Eight Cartridges, Available Now From My Nintendo (Europe)

SlayerG

@Aneira no problem, glad to help!

Regarding your concern about the material, I just checked my case and it is definitely fabric. The company says it is a cotton tee shirt material. That said, it's not hairy, it's flat, so it definitely can't reach the gold pins on the cartridge, especially with the each pin being recessed below the plastic dividers.

Hope this helps. Have a good one!

Re: Game Originally Planned For Wii U, Then Switch, Winds Up As A PS5 Timed-Exclusive

SlayerG

This really frustrates me, because I backed this Kickstarter and selected Wii U as my platform. After it dragged on for years I eventually assumed that the game would never get released and I was just out the money. But to hear that it's coming to PS5, which I don't intend to purchase, as a timed exclusive is frustrating. They better at least hold to their word and release it on Switch in the somewhat near future.

Re: Talking Point: What's Going To Be Nintendo's Big Game For Christmas 2020?

SlayerG

I think both BOTW2 and Odyssey 2 would be huge releases, but I chose "Something Else" because I think Mario Kart 9 would be the optimal release to go against PS5 and XBox Series X. I say this because there is already a BOTW and Odyssey on the system and sequels generally aren't as impactful as the original release. MK8 Deluxe is a port, so a new release would sell by the truckload.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Thinks The Switch Home Menu Is A "Piece Of Crap"

SlayerG

I think the UI needs 2 improvements:
1. As everyone else on here has stated, give us the ability to create folders to organize our games.
2. Once the game icons reach a point where they would move into "All Games" make the game and folder icons 1/4 of their size so they are 2 rows x 2 columns in the place of a single icon. This would grant you 4 times the number of games/folders on the home menu. Once this fills up begin dropping the games that are least frequently used into " All Games".

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Pick Up On Black Friday And Cyber Monday?

SlayerG

I got a bunch of Switch games. Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age for $19.99, Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled, and Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy for $15 each, all from Target. I got Final Fantasy X/X2 for $24.99 and Chronicles of Mana for $19.99, both from Amazon. I also got the Contra collection for $9.99 and Valkyria Chronicles for $14.99, both from the eShop.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Games

SlayerG

@deusX Because it only has 25 user reviews and this list only includes games with 50+ user reviews. Based on it's current user rating it would sit at number 14, but it needs 25 more user ratings to achieve that.

Re: The World Ends With You Debuts At Number 21 In UK Charts, Super Mario Party Sales Drop 45%

SlayerG

@ReaderRagfish, I had the same reaction as you, IIII is not 4, IV is 4. That said, I looked up some information online and found a page that supports what both you and @NewAdvent are saying:

https://www.britannica.com/topic/Roman-numeral

The image of the clock shows IIII for 4 o'clock, while the table on the page shows IV as 4. In my opinion, the modern accepted norm for 4 is IV. Looking at the game package, it looks to me to be more of a visual design choice to use IIII instead of IV. In any case, IIII as 4 goes against my elementary education as well and feels wrong to me.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 6.0.0 Launches Alongside Online Service

SlayerG

@Cosats with all due respect, hacking isn't illegal, it is the term used for computer coders that write code, scripts, etc., typically to identify security holes and patch them. Cracking is the illegal act of finding and using security holes to steal info, money, etc. This site covers the differences pretty well: https://www.educba.com/hackers-vs-crackers/ . With regards to what NintendoLife is reporting on, I would say this is a gray area. Looking at unreleased code to leak incoming features is certainly not good, but I don't think it would be classified as illegal, as they aren't stealing anything or causing damage to the software. I personally think NintendoLife isn't doing anything wrong reporting on rumors, even if the source is leaked from unreleased code.

Re: Pokémon GO's Latest Event Is On Right Now, And There's A Brand New Shiny Pokémon

SlayerG

I grabbed a bunch of dog pokemon yesterday and will continue today and tomorrow to get that 3x Stardust. I didn't realize there was a shiny variant of Poochyena, that's good to know! I'll nab as many as I can in my pursuit. And before people ask, yes, I'm still playing Pokemon Go. It makes for some good entertainment when walking to/from work, and when walking my dogs.

Re: The Big NBA 2K18 Patch For Switch Is Finally Here

SlayerG

I'm not excusing 2k for releasing a broken game, I too think that shouldn't have happened. They should have waited to release the digital version to pair it up with the physical release, giving themselves time to release this patch. One point that I think many are missing though when being angry at Nintendo Life for "giving them a pass" is that many prospective buyers are waiting for the physical release, and therefore won't ever see the bugs this patch fixes. It would be unfair to physical media buyers to see an inaccurate score that wouldn't apply to their day 1 experience, just because some of you believe that Nintendo Life should give the digital version a punitive score. That said, I think it would be irresponsible of Nintendo Life to have not issued a score on the day of the physical release of the game, patch or no patch, but that isn't the case here.

Re: Nintendo Download: 7th September (North America)

SlayerG

@Paperboy they've been doing that on these Nintendo Download articles for North America for quite a while now. The ironic part is that typically going to the eshop results in no meaningful sales, so there isn't much reason to go there.

Re: Niantic is Expanding the New Tracking System in Pokémon GO

SlayerG

It's weird that they are just now announcing this. I was at a wedding in San Francisco over Labor day (Sept 4th) and this tracking thing was working there at that point. It was great, I caught 12 new pokemon there because of it. They implemented it here in Tucson, AZ about 3 weeks ago. I really like it and missed it after leaving San Francisco. Glad it's back now and hope everyone else gets it soon.

Re: Global Roll-Out of Pokémon GO's Nearby Feature Gets Closer as Niantic Plans a Long Run

SlayerG

When I went to San Francisco back in September the Nearby feature was working. It showed exact locations of 6 nearby Pokemon plus 3 sightings that were the same guessing game we've been playing. I found about 12 new Pokemon in my 3 days there. When I returned to Tucson I missed the Nearby functionality. It is now available in Tucson as of a week or so ago. It makes the game so much better.

Re: Best Buy Opens Pre-Orders on Some Re-Stocked amiibo in the US

SlayerG

@Knuckles Thanks for the heads up about Mega Man, I haven't been able to find him previously, but saw you post and was able to get him pre-ordered from Best Buy.

@Thomas84 you should add Mega Man to the article as well, as he's been pretty hard to find in the US. Dark Pit was hard to get initially, but the restock last year fixed that.
