Freelance concept artist Gray Shuko has taken two of the most talked-about video games of modern times and fused them together in a piece of stunning artwork.
Shuko's radical interpretation of Link from The Legend of Zelda sees the famous Hero of Time transported into the near future, and equips him with sci-fi weapons and gear reminiscent of the much-hyped (but critically-mauled) Cyberpunk 2077.
The outfit incorporates elements of Link's costume from Breath of the Wild, mixing it with cyberpunk stylings, such as V's iconic coat.
The artwork reminds us of Jeremy Vitry's mix of Zelda and Overwatch from 2016.

Erm, once again, this is from 28 November, how is this NEWs
Fanart is endless for such a massive franchise, so choosing one example to be featured is kinda weird/pointless.
Not a fan anyway, but what the heck is with Link's expression?!
@PessitheMystic He is unhappy cause he doesn't want to be associated with Cyberpunk 2077
@Bunkerneath The source is here, which was posted yesterday: https://www.cbr.com/legend-of-zelda-cyberpunk-2077-link/ We didn't see the original tweet.
And the piece isn't news, it's clearly marked 'random'. Thanks for the feedback, though!
My main editorial complaint is pretending that Zelda and CP77 are two of the “most talked about” games like uhhhhhhhh CP is a single game that is just over a year old and a huge dumpster fire VS. one of the most critically acclaimed series in the history of the medium?
Okayyyyy!
Is he gonna glitch like V?
@GannonBanned The line reads:
"...two of the most talked-about video games of modern times..."
Cyberpunk 2077 is most certainly one of the most talked-about games of recent years, just not for good reasons!
It's a good piece of art! I'd love to see more of a fan art gallery or something over a single image though. It might make for a really nice weekly or fortnightly article
Not saying I could do any better( I can't.) ,but this really doesn't look that impressive.
Well, the combination between a perfect game like botw and a disaster game like CP 2077, could only lead to an imperfect piece of fan art 😉.
Link isn't falling through the game world or being chased by police that spawn behind him, so it can't be a Cyberpunk.
@Damo hahaha fair enough! Also, not slamming your piece, I know you probably have a big kanban of article cards to grab and you did a commendable job
@CactusMan allegedly that was Miyamoto’s idea for a Link To The Past with a future world instead of the dark world but they couldn’t pull it off
This is really cool. I'd love to see a Zelda game reimagined in a different universe. I'm picturing it something like CrossCode.
I know I'll get dumped on but I prefer Cyberpunk 2077 over any Zelda game. I love CP but the Zelda games have always bored me.
@JustMonika I'll agree with you on the Zelda part. I played two of them and they were... OK. Not interesting enough for me to finish. I haven't tried Cyberpunk 2077 but I've heard it's been patched up into a pretty decent game, even if the story is kind of meh. I might give it a try, but not until I have a PS5, and who knows when that will be.
I've always thought a LoZ taking placing a futuristic setting would be really cool. You can approach the story in a way where the world of Zelda as we (gamers) know it is nothing but myths and folktales in Hyrule's present (kind of how we have Greek or Roman mythology or the Loch Ness Monster in our culture). Magic may or may not exist. But when it appears, no one really believes it's magic and chalk it up to scientific phenomenas.
Same way we have Egyptian pyramids or Mayan ruins, the temples from Hyrule's past would serve as this games historical sites. The Triforce could be this mythical object, like the Holy Grail, that only exist in movies or fiction of the day. As far as the story goes, Ganondorf ends up reborn, which then leads the Link and Zelda of this period to slowly start experiencing moments of awakenings to the lands past and the legend of their previous incarnations.
I could go on and on. But it could be really cool
Removed - unconstructive
I'd be all for Nintendo making a futuristic fantasy game, but I'd much rather it be in the form of a new franchise rather than retrofitting Zelda into the role. That would allow the designers more freedom rather than worrying what needs to be in the game to make it "Zelda-esque."
@UmbreonsPapa Exactly! I love it! This isn't probably comfortable for Zelda purists. But the cross-over style it creates is just very cool. I can see the shaping vision of very good game using this. You need open mind to enjoy this and see potential.
A Link to the Dystopian Future.
Nearly a thousand followers, good for him
Promptly say goodbye to cyber link. Let’s take something cool and make it generic!
Hyrule in BotW is a high tech world. Guardians, ancient weapons, the sheikah slate. How does Link's fast travel work? It almost looks like he's being digitized, uploaded to some world server and then downloaded to the next location. Is Hyrule the Matrix? One could argue that BotW is canonically cyberpunk.
I'm not a fan of this.
@Purgatorium Stonepunk?

@JustMonika over any Zelda game? Man now THAT is an insult.
@Arkay Well I remember playing the first two on NES back when I was a kid and they were fine. It's just personal preference. I enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 but don't care much for the Zelda games. I'm not saying they're bad or anything, lol
@TheFox I played it on the base PS4 and it was ran fairly well. Can you imagine if it was released for the PS3 and 360 like it was originally planned?
I like the concept of Link x Cyberpunk. Seems like he doesn't have enough cybernetics in this example, though. I want to see Link with half a cybernetic face, for his aiming reticule that replaced his eye or something lol.
@NinChocolate lol maybe? Sheikah tech does use a lot of stones...
@GannonBanned
On PC it is one of the very best Games i have ever played.
The Atmosphere of the City is brutally great, visually and sound wise, Story is also pretty good.
Not really worth an article..hell I did "pink link" in neuroblender and got something cooler before.
Hmm, if botw 2 went this direction, it'd be because of the twilight realm.
Ok, this just needs a complete makeover with loads of Nintendo polish and it could actually work.
Sci-fi Zelda could be that Windwaker thing with a style people hate at first, but then they play the game and see all the interesting things it does to invigorate the formula.
@Gwynbleidd jeez thats a little harsh
