Re: Class Action Lawsuit Officially Filed Against Nintendo For Switch Joy-Con "Drifting" Issues

Shokwave2

What would all the Nintendo fans on this website do if this lawsuit affected future projects due to loss of money or stock of Nintendo? What if this lawsuit caused the Switch to be the last Nintendo console made? Or first party games to lose funding, so only mobile ports and shovelware would release on the system?

I've had the RROD on the X360, multiple PS4 controller shoulder buttons wear out, a N64 controller joystick break, a Wii U controller charger stop working, just to name a few. But not once have I thought of filing a lawsuit. I might be lucky to not experience the drift yet but if I did I'd send in for a replacement, repair or just repurchase. If I was that upset about a product I'd stop buying it/supporting it. Get a refund and move onto something else.

And what is the outcome everyone is expecting? A small cut of the winnings if successful? A free joy-con? Extra quality assurance checks? Or just waste Nintendo's time until the next fault is found? I find this lawsuit a huge eye-rolling, law firm attention-seeking, make me famous, mistake. As they say, "only in America".

Has anyone tried contacting Nintendo and getting the faulty parts replaced/repaired? Or is everyone just jumping on the cash grab system? Nintendo are top of their game when it comes to customer service. I've had N64 controllers, power packs, charging cords replaced or repaired.

This seems way too extreme. I've had more PS4 controllers and accessories go on me than Nintendo products, and I've had every console since SNES was released.

Downloaded this from the PS4 Hong Kong store for my son who's obsessed with tanks. I've played a fair bit as well, unlocking tanks, paint jobs, etc. I'd give it a 7/10. Its not for everyone but it does what it advertises. And its faithful to the source. And its a bit of fun. You can't ask more of that. It doesn't aim to be a WoT clone, and too many times people compare games with the more mainstream ones, instead of judging them on their own merit.

Re: Feature: 10 Games We’d Like To See Come To Labo VR

From the list of games mentioned, only one is a Nintendo game, while the rest are either on other consoles or multiplatform. I was expecting a list of Nintendo games. And if you're going to choose which would be cool to play on the Switch, there's probably 10 other games that are way better then those mentioned.

How about developers patch all these issues before a games release? Imagine this happening back in the N64 cartridge days. With no internet to patch poorly devrloped games, these companies would go under and no longer be able to release even more badly made sequels. Maybe we should bring back the pre-internet era, just to weed out all the garbage being made these days and see an end to micro transactions.

@Nintendofan83 I just started the game using the pro controller, and then sat the toy controller next to the switch once it asks you to attach the ship.

I'm really enjoying the games so far. I'm about 2 hours in. I was on the fence whether to get it on PS4 or Switch, but my sons love of Starfox help me decide. He now has an open world Starfox game and a cool Starfox toy to fly around when not playing.

Yes I would also like to know if they've added a checkpoint system in this port? It was a pain having to restart the whole level if you exited for whatever reason.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?

@Twilight_Crow i respect that you can see that GTA is not just a game but also a work of art. Good to see you're not verbally bashing the game because you don't like it's various components: sandbox, shooting, etc. I'm the same with turn-based rpg games (Final Fantasy series, JRPG's) but i can see they're deep games with their own history and they look great, but i just can't get into them or enjoy them.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?

It's funny how most people are acting all mature and saying "GTA is too violent and sexist, it's not my type of game". Yet they say they would rather buy Saints Row IV if it came to the Wii U, when in reality the Saints Row franchise are the more immature games than GTA and contains just as much sex, violence and drug use. They have know idea on the full gameplay of GTA except for the few videos of strip clubs and killings they've seen on YouTube.

Probably 10% of the game has drugs, excessive violence and sex involved. The remaining 90% of the game involves driving, diving, flying, hunting, comedy, finding collectables, races, vehicle and character customisation, challenges, etc. These sort of comments make me realise why mature content rarely gets released on Nintendo systems.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?

@hcfwesker GTA IV was a gloomy, repetitive game, but GTA V has fixed all that with a huge variety of missions. Yes you may be shooting people every few missions, but what other games has you driving a mini submarine in the depths looking for government experiments, flying planes to drop of cargo drops, and sneaking into celebrities mansions to steal their underpants for weird fans?

Also with GTA online releasing next month, i don't see how you could get bored with over 500 missions intially, team deathmatches, races, etc, plus custom matches and races, and the ability to form a crew, buy mansions, vehicles plan heists and robberies.

Fair enough if it's not your sort of game but to say it's boring and repetitive when you probably played a 5-10 year old game is a bit stupid. It has 100 times more playability than Mario Kart, as there is only what 20+ tracks to race? And then what, race them again? Now that's repetitve. I'll be buying Mario Kart when it's released but i can see myself trading it in after completing the single player and a few weeks of multi. A game like GTA has freedom and the ability for downloading expansions, something Nintendo is not very good at doing.

Re: Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me

Shokwave2

@K1LLEGAL I totally agree. I'm a huge Nintendo fan, but also own a PS3 and Xbox360 for those games that aren't available on Nintendo systems. Games are now considered art. Just because a games violent or contains drug references doesn't mean it's bad. What about all the films and magazines that show sex, drugs and violence? Zelda is a violent game, the only difference is one is set in a fantasy world with unrealistic graphics and the other (GTA) is rendered with realistic visuals. If you can't tell the difference between real life and a video game, you shouldn't be playing games, yet alone reviewing them or writing whingey articles.

I think this is more of a jealousy thing, as no one has cried about the DS game Chinatown Wars, which contains the usual GTA traits. I'm a father of 3 kids, and the 2 eldest (10 & 8, both girls) play GTA games regulary for fun. They both know about swear words and violence, and that games are not real and anything done or said in the game are not to be tried or repeated in the real world. And before anyone cries "bad parenting", both are top of their class and the eldest top of her school. And both are pretty good gamers for their age.

Get over the fanboy whinging and enjoy all games on all systems.

Re: Developer Interview: Mathew Solie on Disney Infinity, Toy Box Inspiration and Future Potential

I was hesitant buying this, but figured i'd give it a go as me and my kids loved Toy Story 3. I have to say it is very similar to TS3, while the only resemblance to Skylanders is the use of a base and figures. It's an easy game (aimed at the younger generation of course) but there's fun to be had if you enjoy not having to think too much while playing games.

I really enjoy the art style of the game. It's easy on the eyes but detailed at the same time. The voice work is great, with a few popular quotes thrown in to keep people happy. I can see why there are complaints that this can be an expensive game, but it doesn't have to be. You only buy what you want, no-ones forcing you to buy all the figurines and playsets.

All in all, i'd give this a 9/10. It accomplishes what it set out to do, which is make an enjoyable game for kids which lets them do what they want, when they want, with they're favourite Disney characters. My kids love it, as it lets them make their own adventures, while i love it because it takes me back to being a kid again, and it proves you don't need a game with high scores and blood to make it fun.
