Space exploration RPG The Long Journey Home is launching today on Nintendo Switch. A new trailer has been released to show the game in action.
Yes, Switch owners can finally set off on the game's adventure of danger and discovery, catching up with players who have already experienced it on other platforms. The Long Journey Home is a procedurally generated experience, with each playthrough only showing a small part of the game's universe; you’ll meet at least four of the game's many different alien races and it’s up to you to decide how to deal with them - peacefully, or through other means.
Here's a little PR to give you some more info:
When humanity’s first FTL jump goes wrong, it strands your group of explorers on the other side of the galaxy from Earth. With your spacecraft barely holding together and resources dwindling, it's up to you to choose your crew, explore the vastness of space, deal with alien races and find a way to return home.
Navigating your ship across an open galaxy won't be an easy challenge, thanks to the constant danger of being sucked into black holes, attacked by alien warships and more. Each decision counts: landing on strange planets might give you something with which to survive, but it might also damage your ship and endanger your crewmates. You'll need to carefully consider your options and make smart choices to have a hope of making it back home one day.
You'll find the game waiting for you today on the Switch eShop for £26.99.

First I've heard of this, looking forward to a review to hear what you think.
Looks like it would be a good film, but gameplay ?
Sounds like it could be pretty promising, but reviews don't paint a promising picture.
This seems like a more visual version of Out There: Omega Alliance, which was really good.
AllI want and need regarding Space games is a Switch port of Startraders Frontiers, but I doubt this will ever happen.
Looks interesting, but I only finished Infinite Space fairly recently on the DS, and still pine for all the crazy characters, costumes and crafts which will not be found in most other games. Might buy if it's in a sale though.
just seeing this trailer just makes me cry.
When this first came out, I was very excited about it. Once I played it...not so much. Watch some LPs before you buy. Maybe it's your cup of tea.
@NullSaint Agree. I hate it when trailers focus on intros instead of game mechanics.
"Navigating your ship across an open galaxy" - Gameplay looks 2D to me. Not really open IMO. I was hoping for another NMS/Everpsace/Subdivison style game.
