Remember the Super Mario Movie commercial, where everyone was saying the actress was played by Princess Toadstool's first Super Show actress Jeannie Elias? Turned out it was really Jessica DiCicco, who played lots of incidental roles in the movie like Mario's mom and the yellow council Toad. That was confirmed because she went over her roles herself in an interview.

Meanwhile, no mention of any actors in the Direct itself or on Nintendo's website or the game's website or on Will Arnett's Twitter, where he does publicize his roles like Sweet Tooth on the upcoming Twisted Metal show. So again, who confirmed it, precisely?

Where's it confirmed that Will Arnett is voicing Pikachu? Sounds just like Kaiji Tang from the first game.

I hope Charles Martinet is getting some sweet residuals seeing as he's in multiple language versions of the film. He definitely deserves it.

I loved Jeannie Elias as Carl Foutley from As Told By Ginger. I didn't know her well from Mario; I grew up with the SMB3 and World shows and Terri Hawkes was my princess. However, the clip I heard of Elias were very good.

That said, It's complete conjecture that she voice the commercial lady. Where's it actually coming from besides one random fan on Twitter?

@Dragwhite I would personally be happy with a proper release of the original series. Sub, dub, DVD, digital, just something.

Don't hope for Paper Mario for two reasons. 1: Nintendo's mandate on no original characters based on Goombas and such. 2: The textures of the PM characters are very low res, and there's a lot more of them. It would take more work than just the M on Mario's hat.

As far as I can tell, Toadsworth is old and Toadette is a girl, and they were both designed by Nintendo internally. What makes them off limits now?

I just went for the amiiqo/N2. Saved me a whole lot of headache even before this, and frees me up to just get the figures I actually want.

@Kienda I totally agree. The success of both Sonic and Detective Pikachu in theaters is only a good thing. If Illumination's Mario movie does well, hopefully we'll end up with a renaissance of enjoyable video game films that actually respect the games they came from.

Seems like they edited Mr. Mime's face to resemble the game art. It'd be interesting if any international versions of the film give him that kind of facelift in the actual footage, but it's more likely not gonna go that far.

Honestly, I can't blame them. The only reason people have been willing to pay a lot more than $60 for it is because of the scalpers hogging the majority of them. Nintendo should have just priced it originally at $100; if they tried to increase the price now, they'd just get bad press. Doesn't make it any less annoying: all I wanted was an NES controller, but looks like that won't happen.

Seeing Hirsh's versions of presidential candidates as Pokémon, I'm 100% behind him being on board an actual Pokémon project.

I have about 12 amiibo and there are a few more I want to get, including the red and white JPN version of R.O.B and Chibi Robo. That said, I also may get this device, because the fact is, the figures I want for aesthetic value and the ones I want to unlock game content often differ. It feels like the same thing as borrowing them from someone, or buying them and reselling them after use.

I have to wonder, though: if we need this content to be satisfied, what does that say about us?

Is the Rumble option supported in the VC version?
