@buxner DKC2 and Tropical Freeze are some of the most finely crafted 2D platformers out there honestly, and I think people sell short the amount of craft that went into those, especially Tropical Freeze when they say it was a waste of Retro's talent.
That said, yes, Jungle Beat and Donkey Kong '94 slip through the cracks far too often. Jungle Beat especially gets lumped in with Konga a lot, which is certainly not fair to it.
I'm honestly not as keen on third party characters overtaking Smash. Definitely iffy on Shantae and Shovel Knight, indies in general i'm not big on for Smash. Banjo Kazooie would be cool though.
My most wanted are Dixie Kong, which may happen, Saki Amamiya, which probably won't happen, and Wonder Red, which also probably won't happen.
I got a pre-order at Gamestop just because I gambled on pre-orders opening in store when they opened and I waited outside a half hour before they opened. Didn't stick around to see if a rush of people came once the news dropped.
This is an absolute farce. We shouldn't have to sleuth this stuff out to get a pre-order.
To those giving up on this I don't blame you, we shouldn't have to jump through these stupid hoops. If not for Star Fox 2 I wouldn't be jumping through these hoops, I sure didn't play ball with the NES Mini and I sincerely hope Nintendo isn't lying about producing significantly more SNES Mini's.
@KIREEK Wow, close call. Feel bad for that guy though...the stock situation on this is ludicrous, I really hope Nintendo lives up to saying there will be more units than the NES Classic.
Got mine at a local Gamestop, so if that's an option for you, try that! I feel like people are overlooking local shops, I was the only one there when it opened to pre-order 1, but they only had 10 available.
The 'flaws' in the Genesis Sonic games tend to be seen in a different regard than how I see them fairly often, or at least Sonic 2 and 3. A lot of the game is built around stage memorization and replays to try and get faster times and more rings, maybe find a new optimal route to shave that much more time off with that many more rings, or the quickest way to get all the chaos emeralds. A lot of the design decisions i'd like to believe come from the arcade philosophy Sega had and still has to an extent. And I don't think the arcade ideas of taking some dings until you get better and learn the levels more is inherently bad either. It's not inferior to DK or Rayman, it's just different. THAT is me speaking on the Genesis titles though, not the 3D ones. I think Sonic 1 had some rocky patches that got ironed out in 2 or 3 but still holds up in its own right as well.
Also, the people asking for Sonic Adventure 3 need to realize that the Sonic Team that made those games largely no longer exists. Very different teams and heads of projects.
Hmm, i'm getting it anyway but using Green Hill again is a bit much. I want to see what they have in the works for Classic Sonic beyond that. Physics look like Generations again, which is not a bad thing. I'm glad Mania exists to fill the void for a true Genesis Sonic experience though. Music is...very pop? I like it I think, but something about the synth in it grates at certain points. I hope this is a first draft. All in all, still optimistic.
I get not wanting to pay the 20 bucks on this one, especially with the length of Risky's Revenge...but I like Shantae too much, pledged waaay more on the Kickstarter...and have faith in the quality of the game from what i've seen. Wayforward has also stated that it's bigger than the original GBC game and Risky's Revenge combined, and i'm inclined to believe them with how long they've taken to put it out.
Or just buy used...honestly i'm at the breaking point with Nintendo, so the big titles will be bought used. I will be buying Kid Icarus new though, that angel got a second chance, and i'll do what I can to help him. I'm buying Skyward Sword used though, no doubt.
50: I would be inclined to agree, since Europe does get screwed over sometimes as well, but it isn't just this game...It's a good 7 or so games this gen i've missed on the Wii that you guys have gotten that I would have snapped up in a heartbeat.

Re: Feature: The History And Evolution of Donkey Kong
Also, this video sells Jungle Beat and the first Mario vs Donkey Kong short. I get it though, Country is where it's at.
Oh, and David Wise and Eveline Fisher didn't return for Returns. David Wise was back on Tropical Freeze though.
Re: Feature: The History And Evolution of Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Country 2 is one of the best games ever created
Re: PlatinumGames Wants The Wonderful 101 On Switch
@Kidfunkadelic83 The thumbstick was leftie friendly and the superior control method to the touch screen.
I'm a leftie myself.
Re: PlatinumGames Wants The Wonderful 101 On Switch
Best Wii U game
clap clap

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze's Switch File Is Almost Half The Size Of The Wii U Version
Straight up this is the best Wii U game. Wonderful 101 is a close second but the joys of Tropical Freeze are unmatched in my book.
If you missed it I seriously recommend giving it a look.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Xenoblade 2 for sure, been waiting for new game+
Re: Anniversary: It's Been 10 Years Since Super Mario Galaxy Landed On The Wii
Galaxy and it's no contest. Galaxy 2 beats both too.
Re: Hardware Review: The Super Famicom Mini Is For Hardcore Collectors Only
Keep hating on the North American design, I still prefer it too the European/Japanese design.
Re: Mighty Gunvolt Burst Gets Two New DLC Characters
Copen when?
Call and and Joule are cool though.
Re: Hardware Review: The SNES Classic Mini Is The Perfect Link To The Past
Got mine on pre-order lock, but i'm still going to try and get a second for a buddy's birthday.
Can't wait.
Re: Metroid: Samus Returns Makes Top 10 Debut in UK Charts
Did my part in the US. Special edition and amiibos bought.

Re: Reminder: The Castlevania Netflix Series is Available Now
I adored it, can't wait for season 2. They went a little cartoonishly evil with the church, but eh, it's fine.
Re: Thankfully, Europe Is Getting A More Handsome SNES Classic Mini
The bias be strong on the UK based Nintendo site.
Ah well, I like the look of the UK one, but I can't disparage what I grew up with. US design all the way.

I'd kill for a mobile Chao Garden though.

Re: Review: Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment (Switch eShop)
So i'm probably insane, but I spent all day playing this yesterday instead of Zelda and beat it in a sitting. It was pretty great.
Re: Mr. Shifty is Another Early eShop Treat Coming to Nintendo Switch
Family friendly Hotline Miami? Cool.
Re: Battle Princess Madelyn To Bring Classic Ghouls 'n Ghosts Action To Switch
Loving the look of it.
Re: Review: Noitu Love: Devolution (3DS eShop)
@Popful It's workable. Maybe not as good as a d-pad, but close.
Re: Review: Noitu Love: Devolution (3DS eShop)
@ap0001 I can confirm it does have a left handed control scheme. You use the ABXY buttons to move.
Re: Freedom Planet Bringing Its Brand of Sonic-Style Action to Wii U
Fun game...bad story.
Classic mode is worth the price of admission.
Re: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Facing Potential Error Code Nightmare
Guess i'm not playing online for a while, not risking that junk.
Re: Video: The Top 10 Mario Platformers, As Selected By You
Setting aside my bias on Yoshi's Island being my favorite game of all time.
...Super Mario Bros 3 below Sunshine? Y'all are bananas.

Hopefully it comes to NA, I just may get it...
Re: Talking Point: Why No Plans for GBA on 3DS Virtual Console?
Option 4 imo, it's a bluff.
Re: Professor Layton and the Spector's Call Gets EU Release Date
No London Life for Europe is friggin stupid. Could always import I guess...but they hate the US Luke voice...ouch.
Re: Talking Point: What Was the Best Super NES Game Ever?
Yoshi's Island is my favorite game, period.
Re: Talking Point: The GBA Games You Want on 3DS Virtual Console
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Minish Cap
Superstar Saga
That's all I need on top of Yoshi's Island.
Re: Mega Man Legends 3 Cancelled
Unrelated to Inafune leaving? I call shenanigans on that.
Re: The Thought of a Shooter-Only Future Makes Iwata Sad
Meh, not that worried about it. I don't care for FPS games, but I ignore them just fine.
Re: Rumour: Kid Icarus: Uprising to Miss 2011 in Europe
Eh, i'm a bit wary of this one anyway due to being left handed, any delay sucks though.
Re: Square Enix's Final Fantasy 3DS Game is a Little Off-Beat
Honestly, that sounds a bit interesting if they could pull it off right.
Re: Tales of Graces Wii Will Not Be Released In the West
Glad I have a PS3.
Re: Metroid Database Translates Other M Artwork for Your Pleasure
Not gonna start anything on Other M (wasn't a fan, i'll leave it at that) but that's cool.
Re: Wii Has a Barren Summer Ahead in Europe
Barren in Europe?! It's barren everywhere, and you guys have a freaking oasis at the end of it!
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th June 2011 (North America)
Finally.
Re: NOA: "Never Say Never," But No Plans to Bring Sought-After Wii Games to NA
@61 Hey, I bought Sin & Punishment and Advance Wars around release, and I was 2 when Earthbound came out >_>

I kinda figured this, honestly.
