Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Follow Microsoft's Lead With A Wii U Price Cut?

SahashraLA

I'll conclude my argument saying this:
while every single system is in a push for great, original content, Nintendo's landscape will look VERY different with another (predictably) lacking holiday season.
Iwata likely won't be with the company this time next year.
Nintendo will drop the Wii U sometime before it's fifth anniversary and that will stand as their last stationary games console. Portable is Nintendo's only bright future.

Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Follow Microsoft's Lead With A Wii U Price Cut?

SahashraLA

I don't want to seem entirely pessimistic, but aside from a (still, much smaller than the other two) nice selection of indie games, Nintendo has been relying on glorified remakes this generation.
Pikmin 3 (Pikmin), Mario 3D (3D Land), Rayman Legends (Origins), MH3U (Tri), NSMBU (NSMB Wii), MK8 (64. Double Dash), Smash (Melee), Wind Waker HD.
And late or substandard ports.
Deus Ex, ME3, Darksiders 2, Arkham City, Tekken, NG3: Razor's Edge, Lego Batman 2, Bayonetta.NFS: MWU, FIFA 13, Madden 13.
Replete with underwhelming Gamepad titles.
Nintendoland, ZombiU, Game & Wario, Scribblenauts.
And little to no 3rd party support.
Despite the reviews, there's no Destiny, Evil Within, Tomb Raider, Aliens, EA Sports, CoD, Battlefield, Minecraft, 2K, Bethesda, Dragon Age and others.
And the rare new game .
Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, Lego City Undercover.
It's not much different.. yet.
Give it 2 months and both of the other two current gen systems' libraries will dwarf the Wii U's.
It's about quality, not quantity and I'm aware of that.
It's not like every Wii U game is a quality title though.
There's also only so much of Mario, Zelda and DK the average gamer can take. I'm pretty done with Mario for the next two to three years myself.

Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Follow Microsoft's Lead With A Wii U Price Cut?

SahashraLA

3 million systems to hit their year end mark.
Aka, they fall VERY short.
Like going for a homerun and having to settle for a single
Nintendo has (to continue the metaphor) stranded alot of runners on base and this holiday will be no different.
Aside from Smash (which will hit the 500k mark but fall 200-300k units shy of a million) there's nothing to move systems and none of the Wii U's games has any sort of considerable, long term push.
MK8's DLC isn't Nintendo catching up. It's a sign they're falling further behind. The game's legs are about done, which is a terrible sign for Wii U's chances. It's on pace to be yet another Gamecube, just without the specs to compete.
A ways back, I remember reading an article regarding Sony's many financial struggles and Microsoft's anxiety towards succeeding the 360.
While Microsoft hasn't been doing great either, at least they still have enough games to warrant a purchase.
2 years in and the Wii U still isn't worth it.
Some great games, yes, but it's like buying your first big screen TV. Eventually, it's just there.
It's not the revolution you were hoping it would be and for the money, it's just a TV.
No media support, handcuffed online experience, abysmal app support, barebones browser and streaming options, pathetic HDD size, idiotic handling of VC, gimped CPU, GPU and RAM and a hackneyed peripheral for a controller.
Nintendo was content to follow the atypical console trend with their head in the sand and if they don't pull their heads up now, they might as well suffocate.
Japan has spoken. It's only a matter of time before everyone else does too.
$269 (basic) and $299 (deluxe) is what they should have debuted at. Both with games, one at 32GB, one at 64GB. One with stands and a dock and DDP and the other without.
2 years in and that price should be 249$. With 2 games.
3D Mario & Nintendoland, Bayonetta 1 & 2 w/ the Wonderful 101 and a MH3 / Rayman Legends bundle. Each with a traditional release and each with a game to show off the Gamepad.
A revision with more power to the USB ports is essential as is a new update to speed up the system (like they've only talked about for 14 months now).
Where are the N64 VC games? Cross-buy to encourage people buy VC titles (instead of emulating them, like 80% of gamers seem to do).
Nintendo popularizes motion control gaming.
Then they mastered the art of dropping the ball.

Re: Nintendo Download: 30th October (Europe)

SahashraLA

Confirmed discount on the Walking Dead table. Already have access to Gargoyle's Quest 2. Access to original DKC trilogy. Should be fine BUT..
It's Europe, so not having access to Demon's Crest is Nintendo 'dropping the ball'.
I'd be profane if I could.
ONE GAME.
In exchange for the ENTIRE DKC TRILOGY.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Generous eShop Publication Policies

SahashraLA

After shedding light on Nintendo's eShop policies, I thought I'd bring to mind the Wii U vs Gamecube sales data.
In six years, the GC pushed 21 million systems.
In a third of that time (less than a third), Nintendo has sold around 7 million Wii Us.
So very comparable.
Though, this time next year, it may be more favorable to compare the Wii U to the N64. With Mario Party's HD debut, Splatoon, the beautifully crafted Yoshi's Wooly World, Smash Bros., Zelda, Star Fox and highly anticipated Xenoblade Chronicles X (which has the original's fans buzzing, Zone of the Enders fans buzzing and Xenogears / Xenosaga fans buzzing) the Wii U may yet turn the corner.
May being the key term.
Bayonetta 2 has sold systems. How many? Likely not as much as Platinum would have liked. But it's a sign that a game like Smash U could have a significant impact.
At both Amazon Canada and Best Buy Canada, video game sales have been strong for the brawler and enthusiasm for Amiibo is optimistic. In fact, on Amazon.ca, the title has now lead more days this month than all other titles combined (22 days at number 1). Currently, number 2 is Smash 3DS.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Jet Force Gemini

SahashraLA

It would still be a nice addition to the eShop, whenever Nintendo pulls it's head out of the sand and puts N64 VC games on the Wii U.
A new Rare shooter for the 3DS / New 3DS would be nice, were Rare even remotely as good as they were during their heyday.
Perfect Dark, for those wondering, ranks as my 34th highest N64 games and the 12 titles I listed were not in order, though I do have a great fondness for Goemon.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Jet Force Gemini

SahashraLA

Ah Jet Force Gemini.. Also known as my second favorite Rare N64 game.
Behind the original Banjo.
For me though, that's not saying much. OoT, Goemon 64, Paper Mario, Ogre Battle 64, Pokemon Coliseum, Mario 64, Smash Bros., Yoshi's Story, Evangelion, Sin and Punishment, RE2 and 1080 Snowboarding all hold a fonder place than any of Rare's outings. But hey, one top 20 game and 3 top 30 games isn't bad (JFG @ 26, DK64 @ 29).
Just could have been way better.
For reference, due to my lack of appreciation for Goldeneye being a FPS, it sits at number 43. And only sits in the top 50 due to the N64's lack of games.
Which, you can argue, but in NA, it launched with 2 games.

Re: Poll: Buying Bayonetta 2 - eShop Convenience or Battling for Copies in Stores?

SahashraLA

My local (even though it's over an hour away) Walmart didn't have Pikmin 3, Sonic TLW or even ME3 at launch. So I went to EB Games. And I'm sick of upsell upsell upsell. Do you want insurance? Do you want to pay to get discounts? Do you want additional warranty? Any preorders?
Amazon has sent 3 seperate orders over the last year with cracked or broken cases. Future Shop's shipping to my area is over 10$. The Source by Circuit City is a fun little shop I go to for cables and adapters, but because of them, I had to cancel my Wii U preorder and wait in line six hours at Walmart to get a Wii U (or wait a month and lose interest).
Digital is just so much more convenient. No lines. No waking up early. No extra clutter (single people, people without children take note). DDP eShop money back. And I will NEVER have to worry about disc read error. True story: I got 8 hours into Skyward Sword and then a disc read error forced me to restart. From the beginning. So yeah. Digital will NEVER fail to play and if it does, it's not the game's fault.
I literally have hundreds of dollars worth of music and movies I can't enjoy because of this exact thing.
You say 'take better care of things' and I reply with 'life happens'.

Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd October (North America)

SahashraLA

On the Shantae pricing 'issue', keep in mind, Wayforward isn't some brand new company. They know EXACTLY how much a game like this cost to make and long before they started. As this is their own title, they're the ones who bought the dev kit, made the game and published it for the eShop.
And yes, you still need a publisher to deal with digital.
Alot of people assume you upload the code and you're done and that's not even close.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Super Smash Bros

SahashraLA

When Smash stood for just mayhem and fun.
Before the super competitive, customed online scene.
When a single player gamer could still enjoy the experience.
And anyone could pick up and play easily.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Continues to Thrash its Competition in Japan, Wii U Sales Drop Further

SahashraLA

Though, for reference sake, the Wii U numbers dropped by a sixth (16.5%).
The PS4 numbers dropped by closer to 28%.
Because they started higher last week, the PS4 (with Driveclube, Destiny and FIFA 15) sold less than twice what the Wii U sold last week, a system that has been available for over a year longer and debuted no new games.
This week, they evened off a bit.
Competing with the Vita or 3DS in Japan is rather foolhardy.
The Wii U dropped, but their competition didn't fare any better.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Continues to Thrash its Competition in Japan, Wii U Sales Drop Further

SahashraLA

MH4U could sell 2 million copies by November.
SSB might not sellf 2 million copies this year.
Sure there's holiday spikes, but is it going to stay consistent until then or drop off?
From what I've seen with the 3DS version, the Wii U edition of SSB will not sell a million copies before the end of the calendar year.
In this one instance, I don't mean Japan.
Super Smash Bros. Wii U will NOT sell one million copies this year.

Re: Review: Paper Monsters Recut (Wii U eShop)

SahashraLA

As far as the LBP references are concerned, the platforming is more exact.
In LBP, movement takes place on a 2.5D plane, meaning that even the slightest tilt of the analog stick can send you crashing just to the side of the next platform.
As a 2D platformers, Paper Monsters Recut is more comparable to Mutant Mudds meets Super Mario World 2. The transformations, unique art style and interactive overworld are also more in line with SMW 2 than LBP.

Re: Review: Paper Monsters Recut (Wii U eShop)

SahashraLA

Fantastic little platformer. For the first 3 worlds, it's almost impossible to miss a paperclip or gold button.
Things get a bit more challenging, but everything stays fair and fun.
Once you clear the game, you'll probably be done with it, but for the price, it's an exciting jaunt into a beautifully cut and folded space.
Just be ready for the Mutant Mudds esque background jumping. It can be a bit obstructive.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

SahashraLA

Selling me a near 14 year old game now is kind of pointless.
I played through and finished this game.
That's my review.
That's MY experience.
Like alot of people find the beginning of Twilight Princess incredibly boring, that's a part of the game I play over and over again. It's the middle I can't stand.
Just like Majora's Mask. The meat was fine. The beginning, the end and the tacked on mechanics made it feel disposable.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

SahashraLA

Oh Jake, you and I couldn't be more different.
Wind Waker, the game that feels 2/3rds complete.
Wind Waker, using cel shaded graphics to hide the glaring rough edges.
Wind Waker, could have started the fully orchestrated soundtrack in Zelda titles, instead going with the same, tired sound options.
Wind Waker, trying so hard to one up OoT (they all have) and failing miserably.
Wind Waker, stretching the game out with boring sailing, a bland and empty map and middling, recycled characters.
Wind Waker, tries to have a story and falls horribly short.
Wind Waker, few surprises and less incentive to explore.
Wind Waker, my second least favorite 3D Zelda (still better than the NES ones though).
The series has been most consistently great on handhelds.
No real low points to speak of.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

SahashraLA

I got the soundtrack on Club Nintendo.
Honestly, I wish it had been so many other games.
This game is just disappointing for me.
The masks added gimmicky effects, the time travel was cheap and overused and the murkiness that hung over the entire game was just depressing. Depressing for the fact that Nintendo could have really pushed the system and choose instead to stick with the exact same engine.
Majora's final battle was the best part of the game and even that felt too typical and uninspired to really matter.
I never really cared much for the characters and rank this just ahead of the older NES Zeldas (whose own pop-up enemies, cheap attacks and rigid controls are further mired in rose tinted mediocrity).
6 out of 10 if I'm being generous. 4 out of 10 if I'm being a bit more blunt.

Re: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Live Nintendo Direct to Introduce "50 New Things"

SahashraLA

Everybody knows Nintendo's stance on the Mother (Earthbound) series by now (we understand fans enjoyed it, but the guy that does that has moved on). What I see from Nintendo is the creation of ALOT of Mother resources in HD and a pretty big focus on Ness, now that he's official.
My new theory (and it's a doozy): Earthbound HD.
Almost exactly like the original, but with a movable camera and in full HD, 3D graphics. Earthbound sold like hotcakes with no advance notice, the Wii U NEEDS RPGs and it's an existing game, so the only thing you'd have to do is build it.
And to be honest, I think Nintendo is going to reveal it at E3. Next year is the 20th anniversary of Earthbound and I think Nintendo realizes that it's a highly coveted experience that people would buy.

Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd October (Europe)

SahashraLA

Funny.
Europe gets the DKC trilogy AND a DKC Tropical Freeze promotion, but everyone just complains about no Halloween releases (despite already having Demon's Crest and Gargoyle's Quest 2) and no Castlevania (despite already having Super IV, I, II, III and Dracula X).
I'd much prefer DKC, especially with how bloated GBA games appear on my TV.
I'm getting the Bayonetta digital copies and don't waste your breath telling me about physical's discounts, bonuses or 'cool factor'.
Some people just prefer digital. I happen to be one of them.
And for reference, Amazon, EB Games, Walmart, Future Shop, Best Buy and Toys R Us charge more tax and add shipping charges versus what Nintendo charges here in Canada.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Bangai-O

SahashraLA

The N64 version was never ported over because the Dreamcast version had a western publisher. Even in Japan, the cart was limited to just 10k carts.
The fact this is listed in this feature is ridiculous.
This was one of the top 50 Dreamcast titles and can barely be considered an N64 game at all.

Re: Poll: Nintendo Minute Debate - Is Super Mario World or Super Mario Bros. 3 More Influential?

SahashraLA

Super Mario Bros. 3, for various reasons.
On Mario: an overworld, the Raccoon power-up, flight, seperate mini-games, Koopa kids, storable items (basic inventory) and sub bosses in the fortresses.
Super Mario World influenced many games, but Mario 3 was the first time Nintendo pushed their hardware that far. Mario 3 was an SNES calibre game on the NES.
Super Mario World was the next step in Mario's evolution, producing sounds and visuals worth upgrading to the SNES for. A great number of SMW's accomplishments would have been impossible without Mario 3.
The fact is, an newer title in the same vein, the same genre and the same series won't be more influential. SMB3 was and still is more influential because it was the primary influence for SMW.
SMW, in and of itself, was a blend of Mario 2 (rounded characters, whimsical movement, even the egg spitting dino influenced Yoshi's design) and SMB3 (for reasons previously mentioned).
Game developers aren't 20-25. Most have been trudging through the muck and are 30-40 years old. Maybe SMW was more influential on today's smaller indie devs, but as far as the industry is concerned, SMB3 has far more weight.
Is Super Mario World a better game? The fact it came out 3 years later and needed to convince people, for the first time in Nintendo's history, to buy a new console, yes. It was better. Because it had to be.

Re: Miley Cyrus Confuses Fans by Owning a Wii U

SahashraLA

Must be crap, to be pigeonholed by 'experts' in the field.
Adult actors and actresses choose all the time to quit a certain role to avoid that exact thing.
Child stars try and break free of that and are immediately slammed.
Girl's 21. Not 17.
The reaction to her newfound sexual discovery is hilarious.
Because let's remember: guys that enjoy sex are manly and girls that enjoy sex are prostitutes.
Nintendo gamers, you don't get 'mature' games because you aren't comfortable with sex yet. Black, shapeless clothing for everyone! Nothing fitted, nothing expressive. Nothing to suggest you've ever had sex or will ever have sex.
Human beings, the only species that has sex for the enjoyment of it. The only species that does it even when reproduction isn't the intention. Selling it yet entirely ashamed of it. I've posed nude for art classes. It's such a non-issue it makes me sad what the populace has subjected this young woman to.
If you don't care about this article, you don't care about her. If you don't care about her, you don't really know her. If you don't really know someone, stop flipping judging them. Worry about your own lives for a change and forget about this person that could comfortably retire on her 22nd birthday.

Re: Miley Cyrus Confuses Fans by Owning a Wii U

SahashraLA

It's cool with me.
The more exposure the Wii U gets, the better.
Celebrity endorsements are fine, no matter who does them or where.
Alot of celebrities are gamers (the schedule allows for it) and many like Nintendo.
I remember tons of musician friends who love a round of Goldeneye, Halo, Mario Kart and other local multiplayer games.
They'll talk gaming at shows and even host gaming parties.
I never had an NES till '89 and I didn't get my SNES till 97'.
She might have had one before I did and I'm 30.
Point is, not many celebrities have jumped on the Wii U train. She has. She's in headlines. It's not a huge, stop the presses kind of article. But it is Nintendo related at the least.

Re: Project CARS Delayed to March 2015 on PS4 and Xbox One, Wii U Still Stalled with '2015' Window

SahashraLA

Driveclub. Forza Horizon.
How does the delay not make sense after ^^ ?
The devs wanted Smash to boost the Wii U install base, just like alot of indie devs waited until after MK8 to start releasing games.
On all 3 systems, the game was delayed to avoid competition.
I could see the Wii U version out in April. Which, if you think about it, wouldn't be too bad. It gives Nintendo 3 months to get a Splatoon / Yoshi out there, 2 months to prep for E3 and 3 months before the big fall / winter season.
With Mario Maker, Affordable Space Adventures, Kirby & the Rainbow Curse, random Miyamoto projects, A.N.N.E. and Mighty No. 9, it might not be a bad year after all.
With Zelda, Star Fox and Xenoblade Chronicles X, it could turn out to be a well rounded year. Still room for N64 VC, Gamecube VC (or remakes), DS VC and maybe some surprises along the way.
My favorite rumor is the one surrounding Metroid Prime Hunters. eShop sequel. HD graphics. 30$ price point. Online multiplayer, including squad based combat.

Re: Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Wii U Delay Seems to be Due to 8GB Basic Model

SahashraLA

I hope that with Nintendo's next system, they go at least 64GB flash and 32GB SSD. Leave room for an external drive and call it a day.
Oh and a 10 core, 3 GHz CPU
3 GB GPU
16 GB RAM
Optical out
HDMI 1.4+
USB 3.0 (and a higher thoroughput for power)
More powerful cooling system and better ventilation
Oh and built in Wi-fi AND 10/100/1000 ethernet
They went for cost effectiveness over performance and with every Borderlands, Wolf Among Us, Evil Within that goes by, the more I regret the Wii U. Nintendo will have different management if they survive this console generation.
If not, they'll make a killing off the 3DS now and make an all-in-one handheld with TV output later.

Re: Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Wii U Delay Seems to be Due to 8GB Basic Model

SahashraLA

Another aside: the game isn't exactly cheap. At, what 30$, there's now WAY too many titles on the eShop that are half that and still just as much (if not more) fun.
This is a remake. Inflated because the devs are funding it out of pocket.
Their price point alone is negating 'casual' gamers, gamers who can spend the same amount and get an Assassin's Creed IV (a properly advertised title), Rayman Legends (which looks more family friendly) or I don't know.. take their family out for dinner and enjoy their time.
It's a single player game.
No single player gamer purchased the basic without an external drive.

Re: Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Wii U Delay Seems to be Due to 8GB Basic Model

SahashraLA

@maceng
And in your opinion, would he or she be the type of consumer to a) use their credit card to buy games digitally and b) be interested in a rather 'core' platformer like New n' Tasty?
The issue isn't that there are those who purchased the 8GB model. The issue is thinking that there are those who purchased the 8GB model, don't have an external drive and still would be interested in this title.
It's like with the Wii Sports bundles. How many of those people, those Wii Sports bundle purchasing people, legitimately spent money on the Wii Shop?
I'd say it was quite the small number.
For the 8GB model, I'd venture that maybe, just maybe, 400k systems were sold.
It was cancelled by Nintendo in less than a year. It got dusty on store shelves while quite a few locations sold out of black consoles for the first little bit.
Skylanders WAS Wii Sports. If it were exclusive to the Wii U, it would sell systems.
Nintendo didn't grab long term customers with Wii. That was gaming's gateway console. Now, those types of gamers buy stuff like Skylanders. And that's pretty much it (50-75$ game and portal, 12$ figurines).
This isn't a game that's going to sell consoles.
And it's not going to be grabbing those Skylanders / Wii Sports gamers either.

Re: Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Wii U Delay Seems to be Due to 8GB Basic Model

SahashraLA

16 GB flash drive.
15-20$.
How hard is it for these devs to get it?
This isn't a legitimate excuse.
It's the barrel scraping of someone delaying their game for a bigger install base.
They're obviously pushing this to December when Smash has boosted those numbers.
Apparently, his 'that's just one hurdle' comment in a later tweet was supposed to prevent people from coming to that conclusion.
General Nintendo gamers won't buy it and I think they get that now.

Re: Pier Solar and the Great Architects Landing in North America on 23rd October

SahashraLA

For the record, this was deconfirmed before the original Nintendo Life article was written. Almost a full day before.
Here I thought that Pier Solar would release the first Thursday (or Tuesday) in November and I've believed that since indie releases started ramping up in frequency late August.
Seems a very likely launch date.
Though, it's just for the Wii U owners as everyone else has had this for weeks now.

Re: Video: We Tackle the Legendary Hyrule Warriors "Master Quest Pack" DLC

SahashraLA

Looks like I'll be picking this up sometime in the new year after all.
Getting all the DLC with the game is nice.
Then again, if the sales pass 1 million, I'll get the game sooner and start my push to get Fatal Frame V imported.
Unfortunately, due to a new Ys game (no word on import status) I'll be getting most indies on PS4 or Vita and Nintendo will lose most of my business.
It might not come out until 2016 here, but it's more anticipated than everything but Zelda and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Considering that games like Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 will be out and cheaper by that time, the PS4 looks like a smart purchase, even if not for another year or so.

Re: Weirdness: Sony Fan Creates Petition In Hope Of Bringing Super Smash Bros. To The PS Vita

SahashraLA

PS Allstars, no matter how lacking, refutes his 'antitrust' and 'monopoly' comments.
The deal is no way beneficial for Nintendo.
The Vita has alot of shortcomings of its own.
Sony would lose millions licensing each character on their system.
And this only needs a thousand signatures??
Nintendo sold a thousand copies of Smash in just minutes in Japan!
Idiocy, it's what's hip.
This article, brought to you by Meme culture.
It's not just stupid, it's not being able to find a picture of a cat on the Internet stupid.

No thanks.
Stealth 2?
From what I played of the first Stealth, no thanks.

They need to show ALOT more before I decide, so maybe.
The Swapper?
Yes.
This must be the Wii U launch part two. All I ever see are ports.
Trine. New n' Tasty. Watch Dogs. Three of these games. Tengami.
Oh and look, Project Cars still doesn't have any new Wii U news.
Shame. Wasn't gonna buy a driving game for full retail anyways, but shame anyways.

Re: New Nintendo 3DS LL Outsells Standard Model By Almost Three To One In Japan

SahashraLA

@FritzFrapp
Definitely missing the point.
Look at how many systems sold in Japan each time.
It's now 'what Japan likes', it's how the rest of the world responds.
The Micro wasn't well received in most regions while the DS was a global smash.
Likewise, the 3DS has grabbed Japan's attention while other regions have stuck almost exclusively to other mobile devices.
Japan has cellphones, yes, but they know that your cellphone won't give you that MH / Yokai Watch / Pokemon experience.
Other regions don't seem to care as much about portable gaming anymore and maybe our transportation differences are the divide. When's the last time you took a 30-90 minute train to work?

Re: You Can Now Purchase Select Digital Titles on Nintendo's Official Site

SahashraLA

No cell phone.
Or work computer.
You know, the blue collar, works with his hands type.
I get dirty and have a landline my partner can call anytime I'm at work.
Cell phones, to be honest, are for people who like to pretend to be busy.
But are really just too lazy to use other means.
Call me old fashioned, but I still find it ridiculous that Nintendo not having remote buy is a hugely detrimental feature for some.
Too much disposable income maybe.

Re: Review: Bayonetta 2 (Wii U)

SahashraLA

While many websites advocated for the Wii U during PS4 and XB1's early months, claiming 'games over names' in another obvious shot at the Wii U's branding, it's not too reasonable for those same critics to do the same going into 2015.
In fact, aside from Smash (a niche game, let's be honest), Hyrule Warriors (a Dynasty Warriors clone and not a very good one) and Mario Kart 8 (a racing title and not the realistic kind that sells) there's roughly a fifth of the titles as other systems.
The incentive to buy a Wii U is low and it's unlikely Smash is going to change that for many holdouts.
Which is why Bayonetta 2 is PERFECT for Wii U.
It's the critically applauded, mature content spilling, sequel to a game no one purchased. Demanded by thousands of rabid fans on other systems, it's just fodder for the question: why doesn't Nintendo give up the ghost and go third party?
I, personally, would hate the idea. But for as much money as Nintendo made with Wii, they seem to be losing with Wii U.
More and more, this looks like Nintendo's last home console run.
Which is funny, as Sony and Microsoft painted themselves into a corner with their overly PC hardware while only Nintendo left a door open.
I guess playing it safe at the end should cost them, but I still want and hope Nintendo can prove me wrong.
For Iwata's sake. So Zelda and other games aren't cancelled.
