I'm really hoping that this game, Time Travelers, Monsters Come Out on Friday and, of course, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney will all eventually make their way to North America.
Because I love me some Level-5 (and because all of those games appeal to my gaming sensibilities anyway).
F-Zero is just one of those series I've never been able to get into, no matter how much I've tried. I respect the craftsmanship, the visual aesthetics and the love fans have for it, but the speed is just too much for me. GX actually gave me motion sickness on more than one occasion.
Given his personality and his very geek-savvy body of work (of which I'm an admitted fan), it doesn't surprise me at all that Simon Pegg would enjoy that reference.
Mostly Fire Emblem: Awakening (everybody's starting to hit Lv. 20, so I'm gonna have to buy more Master Seals soon), but I might sneak in some Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Director's Cut too.
I feel a little guilty for having both of the Devil Survivor games just sitting barely played (still in the plastic wrap, in 2's case) on my shelf while gamers in Europe haven't even had the chance to play them yet.
I wasn't blown away by this Nintendo Direct, but there were still a few bits of news that made me happy. The big one for me was Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, and the announcements of Animal Crossing's release date (finally) and River King & Harvest Moon coming to the eShop were both nice too.
While I'd like to see another 3rd-party developer put their spin on Zelda (Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons are two of my very favorite games in the series and The Minish Cap was good for what it was), I'm not sure MercurySteam is the one I'd like to see have a stab at it. I just haven't been impressed with their body of work so far.
That they're pushing back the release of an almost completed game so far is irritating, particularly for those Wii U owners that bought the system partly because Rayman Legends was coming within the first 6 months or so, but that they're producing PS3 and 360 versions is one of the least surprising things that has ever happened. Ubisoft is almost as notorious as Capcom and Nintendo are for porting their games (and Rayman especially) - everyone knew that part of the story was always going to happen, and it's perfectly understandable. And, to be perfectly honest, releasing all three versions simultaneously will probably be better for Rayman Legends.
What annoys me much more is that, once again, another (likely fantastic) Michel Ancel title is probably going to be screwed over by a poor choice in release date, when it will now have to contend for sales with high-profile mega-sellers like Grand Theft Auto V. Has Ubisoft really not learned from what happened to Rayman Origins and Beyond Good & Evil?
Physical is the way to go for me as far as Nintendo platforms are concerned, unless it's something that can only be purchased on the eShop, of course. Until Nintendo puts a proper account system in place, I just won't feel comfortable buying the digital versions of full retail titles.
The delay is kind of annoying, but I'm playing other stuff anyway, so waiting for my physical copy isn't too much trouble. And I'm just not willing to buy full retail games from the eShop, if I can avoid it.
I'm enjoying the book immensely, but if I had one nit to pick with the Hyrule Historia, it would be that it hasn't gone into as much detail with The Legend of Zelda's dungeons as I would have hoped.
My absolute favorite thing about the book has been seeing the architecture of various areas evolve over the course of their development and all of the neat ideas the designers had while they were initially conceiving them (the same goes for the character designs, which are, thankfully, much more plentiful), and it just seems slightly odd that such a major part of the series wouldn't receive much attention with this sort of thing.
It's really disappointing, albeit perfectly understandable, that we'll probably never see an official Western release for Retro Game Challenge 2; the first game was one of my absolute favorite DS titles, and the sequel looked like it was even better. I had some small hope that a digital-only release might happen, but this looks like the final nail in the coffin; the licencing issues on top of the lackluster sales for the first game are still too much of a barrier. I guess I'll just have to consider myself lucky that the first game even made its way over to North America.
Someday I'll try to import RGC2 and play it with a translation guide - and maybe I'll play Tiny Cartridge's fan translation too, if/when that gets finished.
That's a shame, I was hoping Nicalis and Pixel might use this as an opportunity to refine the game a bit. Oh well, I'll still probably get it at some point, but just not anytime in the immediate future.
That reminds me of these 16-bit RPG Doctor Who (major spoiler warning for people that haven't watched anything post-David Tennant) and Jersey Shore videos.
I'd provide links to the two 16-bit Game of Thrones videos the same guy made but, much like the show itself, some of their content definitely wouldn't be kosher here.
By a pretty wide margin Pandora's Tower was the Operation Rainfall game I was least interested in, but I'd be willing to give it a shot if it's priced around $30 or so. Even if XSeed prices it higher though, I'm glad that the NA fans that most wanted to play it are getting their chance.
@TwilightV - I'm with you there. Even as a digital-only release, I'd be on Retro Game Challenge 2 like white on rice.
@Tetsuo_808 - That room is a fine spot to pick-up some quick Rupees, but my favorite method is to jump off the top of the drawbridge's chain to collect those two red Rupees hidden in mid-air.
I had somewhat high hopes for this game just a few months ago, but between the lukewarm impressions in most of the final reviews and my own lackluster experience with the demo (gorgeous visuals aside), I'm going to pass on it.
Maybe I'll scoop it up if it's ever in a $10 bargain bin, but until then, I'll look to Adventure Time: HIKWYSOG for my sprite-based, side-scrolling, licensed property kicks on the 3DS.

Re: Video: Someone Has Hacked Nic Cage's Face Into Zelda, Just Because They Can
Because Majora's Mask wasn't creepy enough already.

Re: Next Level Games on Working With Nintendo to Create Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
I don't normally like Kotaku, but the full article was actually pretty interesting.

Also, I can't wait for The World's End!

Re: U.S. Trademarks Suggest Guild02 eShop Localisations
No sign of The Friday When The Monsters Appear? Darn, that's the one I want the most.

Re: Ace Attorney Collection for 3DS Has Been Proposed "Many Times" at Capcom
Ace Attorney is one of the few series where I'd be all over a compilation, despite already having each game in the series (AAI2 excepted).

Re: More Ace Attorney 5 Information Is On The Way
I will cry salty, salty tears if Capcom changes their minds about bringing AA5 over.

Re: 3DS eShop Sale is Underway in North America and Europe
I might get Sakura Samurai when it goes on sale, if I feel like I have the time to actually play it.

Re: Nintendo 3DS Direct Bringing the Love on 14th February
Instead of dwelling on my lack of a significant other on Valentine's Day, I can spend my morning hoping for news of a Rocket Slime 3 localization.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Nine
Lots and lots of Dragon Quest V, and maybe a little bit of Code of Princess, while I wait for my copy of Fire Emblem: Awakening to finally ship.

Re: Nintendo Download: 7th February 2013 (North America)
I'm definitely going to check out the Etrian Odyssey demo. Atlus does great work, and I've been meaning to give that series a try for a while now.
Re: U.S. Download Sales Increase, But Physical Games Drop in Popularity
Physical is the way to go for me as far as Nintendo platforms are concerned, unless it's something that can only be purchased on the eShop, of course. Until Nintendo puts a proper account system in place, I just won't feel comfortable buying the digital versions of full retail titles.

Re: Review: Picross e2 (3DS eShop)
Only 15x15 puzzles? That's disappointing.
Re: Book Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Hyrule Historia
@Five-seveN - I'm not an enormous Metroid fan (though I do quite like the series), but I'd be all over a Metroid art and history book.

February 4th can't come soon enough!

Re: Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan Demo On The Way
I'm loving these pre-release demos.
Re: New Club Nintendo Reward In The Form Of A Yoshi Cleaning Cloth
I'd consider it if I had the necessary coins, as I tend to like the more practical CN rewards.
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th January 2013 (North America)
I might get Tokyo Crash Mobs at some point, but for now I'll just take the demo.
Re: Fire Emblem: Awakening Features Both English And Japanese Voice Tracks
I usually pick English anyway, but I always like the option to choose between the two.

I'd watch Amazon Instant more, but it seems like every time I look at their selection, there's a ton of overlap with Netflix Instant.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - New Year Edition
Now that I've beaten Paper Mario: Sticker Star, it's time to start really focusing on Code of Princess and Virtue's Last Reward.
Re: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate Demo On The Way
I've been hesitant about this new Castlevania, so a demo is certainly welcome news.
Re: Code of Princess Will Only Be Available On 3DS eShop In Europe
It's better than not getting it at all, I suppose. Physical copy or not, Code of Princess is really good.
Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2013
If it comes this year, my most anticipated game is Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney; I'll take all the Ace Attorney goodness I can get.
Re: Code of Princess Rated for European Release
I just bought this game with some of my Christmas money, and what little I've played of it so far has been quite fun.
Hopefully you folks across the pond get to play it sooner rather than later.
Re: Capcom Not Looking To Bring "Late Ports" To Wii U
Well, I suppose there's a first time for everything.
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th December 2012 (North America)
I'm still busy with my CN rewards (TwinBee and Metroid II), so no downloads for me this week. I will get Wario Land II eventually, though.
Re: New Japanese Trailer for Dragon Quest VII 3DS Remake
I can't wait for this game to ruin all of my free time.

Re: Rumour: Capcom Is Bringing Its Arcade Classics To 3DS And Wii U eShop
I can't think of many theoretical releases I'd like to have more than online-enabled ports of Power Stone and Power Stone 2 on my 3DS.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Festive Edition
I'm trying to squeeze in a playthrough of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and a re-play of Pikmin 2 before Christmas. We'll see how that all ends up.
Re: Castlevania: Mirror of Fate's Boxart Comes With Lashings Of Belmont And Added Alucard
Orange and blue (well, bluish). Hmm...
Re: Review: Wario Land 3 (3DS eShop / Game Boy Color)
I'm so glad I bought myself a Wario Land 3 cart back in June; this game is a masterpiece.
