In a recent Nintendo Direct focused on the Japanese market, Guild02 was confirmed for the region, a trio of eShop downloads — as opposed to the retail release of Guild01 — published by Level-5 and produced by some of the most respected names in the industry. With three of the four Guild01 titles arriving in the West as individual eShop downloads, the announcement certainly gave us optimism that they'd arrive in PAL regions and North America in the future.
That possibility became a little stronger today, with Siliconera tracking down two trademarks in the U.S. for Bugs vs. Tanks! and The Starship Damrey, both filed by Level-5. In the first you use tanks to fight enormous bugs — as the title makes clear — and comes from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, while The Starship Damrey is an adventure game from Dragon Quest IV developer Kazuya Asano, in which you've lost your memory on a spaceship. Having checked the US trademark register these two are indeed there, though there's no sign of The Friday When The Monsters Appear, the third part of Guild02.
The recent arrival of Liberation Maiden on iOS suggests that these may just be timed exclusives on 3DS, but we certainly hope that these trademarks do pave the way for these games' eventual arrival on the eShop outside of Japan.
Have you tried any of the Guild01 games on the 3DS eShop, and are you keen for these new entries to make it West? Let us know, as always, with a comment.

Big fan of Crimson shroud, but I'd need to be convinced to try either of these, even if Inafune is behind one of them.
I REALLY want that Bugs VS Tanks game!
I want all three! Especially Bugs vs Tanks and The Friday that monsters appear. If I had to pick one it would be the monsters game. But I'm already happy we're probably getting the other 2.
YES, THANK YOU.
The Guild01 games were pretty fantastic. I guess the response must have encouraged them to bring more of them to the West. And that Bugs vs Tanks one, is the one I really want to play.
Crimson Shroud was great, I still haven't gotten the better ending.
Well out of the two expected, I'm thinking The Starship Damrey might have my interest.
What happened to that pirates game from Inafune after all this time?
They've GOT to give us The Friday When The Monsters Appear! I love giant monsters!
@MrWalkieTalkie IKR! My childhood dreams made into a game.
No sign of The Friday When The Monsters Appear? Darn, that's the one I want the most.
To celebrate this news, I will finally download Aero Porter, as I've been waiting to do so for some time. In 3... 2...1....
I'm hoping all 3 come to America, they all sound interesting. Loved Liberation Maiden and Crimson Shroud was AMAZING!...even with those annoying Witch Kings...
i only bought Liberation Maiden and Crimson Shroud which were BRILLIANT! can't wait to try the Guild 02 ones.
I'm hoping for more info on The Starship Damrey, its the most interesting to me.
Both of those sound interesting.
The Friday When The Monsters Appear is the game I was most looking forward to... Level-5 please don't let me down...
How about a Fantasy Life Localisation!
The Guild titles are perfect for the eShop. I hope that all three games from series2 make it to NA/EU.
I really hope all 3 make it over.
I've been meaning to download Aeroporter at some point, being a big fan of two of Yoot Saito's previous games, Simtower and Yoot Tower, the latter of which unfortunately got the expansion packs that were released in Japan.
@Haxonberik
That pirate game with the penguin for 3DS? Kenji said it was still early in development when that trailer was released. Look for it at E3.
The Starship Damrey has me intrigued. I'd certainly like to see that one localized. Heck just localize all three!
Huge fan of Level 5's work, I always saw something in them after Dark Cloud came out.
I'll just buy Liberation Maiden.
Loved Liberation Maiden & Crimson Shroud, so I'll keep my eyes open for these two (although I hope all 3 make it over).
