Nintendo unveiled more memes than games at this year's E3.

@Captain_Hookey: I know, how dare people formulate their own opinions about what games appeal most to them? That absolute nerve!

Of the games at the show? It's Paper Mario then Luigi's Mansion then Power of Illusion, and after that there's a cavernous drop-off.

As a lover of side-scrolling Castlevania, I'm still following Mirror of Fate's development closely, but now it's more out of morbid curiosity than genuine excitement.

I'm never buying a white controller or handheld again if I have any other options. They look very pretty when they're brand new; not quite as much after a couple of years of consistent use.

It was nice to see them go more in-depth with Paper Mario (and to get a FE confirmation... after the show), but overall, I came out of the 3DS showcase pretty underwhelmed - much like the rest of E3, really.

I mostly just wish that Nintendo hadn't assured everyone that they'd reveal new software tonight before they went ahead and didn't actually reveal any new software.

It's a little hard to be too disappointed when my most wanted game of the last decade (Pikmin 3) made a featured appearance.

Yes, yes, this is all very good news, but I think the real question we all want to know the answer to is how well Rocket Slime 3 has performed?

...What's that, you say? Only I care about Rocket Slime 3? Okay.

It was nice to actually hear more about Paper Mario, but hopefully the big 3DS bash will feature something more in the way of, you know, stuff we haven't seen yet.

If the WiiU uses restore points like the 3DS does, I'm totally moving ActRaiser over from my Wii.

Using restore points to cheese my way through the end-of-game boss gauntlet is the only way I ever see myself reaching the credits.

@dizzy_boy: I'm not sure it's even possible to make a web browser as terrible as the Wii's nowadays.

It looks like good, if shallow, fun; something I'd never pay full retail for it, but I'd be perfectly fine if this were included as a pack-in.

@Nin-freak: No, you are not the only one that noticed them.

Nintendo's E3 site is listing Pikmin 3's number of players as "1", which doesn't exactly bode well for the return of Pikmin 2's secretly great multiplayer, but I still wouldn't completely rule it out yet. We're still a long ways away from its release and the Big N did make a point of saying today that the WiiU will be able to support two gamepads and that there will be multiple ways of controlling Pikmin 3.

Buuuut I'm probably just reaching.

I'm so happy that Pikmin 3 is finally a thing. The wait just to see this game has felt like ages.

The 3DS' Fall/holiday line-up is going to force me to make some sacrifices.

Actually, Ubisoft aside, all of these press conferences were massively disappointing.

Thank goodness for Pikmin 3, otherwise this would be right there with 2008's Animal Crossing: City Port and Wii Music horror show.

Although, to be fair, that one didn't have the expectations of a new console blowout on its shoulders...

I think failing to devote another 15 minutes to Luigi's Ghost Mansion is what killed it.

Pikmin 3 is mai waifu, but I was kinda expecting more from Nintendo itself. Everything else from them was Nintendo Land and stuff we'd already seen already.

Toy Robot Ridley was cute.

Nintendo Land sounds interesting, but did we really need to dedicate all of this time to the Luigi's Ghost Mansion mini-game?

I feel bad for the sucker that has to play as Waluigi-colored Luigi.

I'll probably buy all of those Mario games (Paper Mario Sticker Star, for sure), but I'm starting to get pretty burned out on the "New" Super Mario Bros. series. Not that I can blame Nintendo too much; they'd be foolish to ignore the sales numbers that series has put up.

NSMB2 will have more gold-plated objects than a hip-hop mogul's mansion.

I'll be sure to tune in for the 3DS show tomorrow evening.

These three were all gimmes, but confirmation is still nice. Now they need to bring a YouTube app to the 3DS, or update the web browser to allow for video viewing.

Wii Fit U sounds like spectacular Engrish

I maintain my opinion that 5th Cell should've sent a free copy of Super Scribblenauts to everyone that bought the broken, incomplete mess that was the original game.

Everyone can safely expect to see my Mii gathered around Pikmin 3 and Rayman Legends.

Pikmin right off the bat. A press conference after my own heart.

I'm getting some WarioWare: Twisted! time in before the show, partly as an attempt to desensitize myself to the madness that will inevitably come during and after the Big N's press conference.

But also because it's still a really fun game.

StarTropics is a series I'd love to see Retro take on, but I doubt Nintendo would revive a franchise with such little name recognition.

My immense desire to see Pikmin 3 after 8 years of sad, desperate longing aside, I hope Nintendo will show us some 2D (not 2.5D) 3DS games this E3, like a Metroid 5, a Wario Land 5 (6?) or gasp a brand new side-scroller.

It's probably a longshot, but a man can dream.

I remember being more excited about this Fusion than Prime back in the day!
