Had to delete this after repeated crashes and seemingly zero dev support. This game definitely does not deserve 8/10. Play for more than 5 hours and you’ll realise it belongs in the bin. Shame, the first few hours were great.
Anyone know how to change your loadout? Spent a happy afternoon unlocking lots of weaponry and spells aaaaand… I simply cannot figure out how to equip them?!?
Unplayable thanks to zero effort to actually adapt the controls to the system on which it will be played. Really beginning to hate the arrogance of Nintendo at this point. I’ve already stopped buying their games and I’m about to cancel NSO, I’m done.
If they’d acquired Panic Button (Doom, Doom Eternal) THEN I’d be happy… but people behind the load time hell of Hogwarts Legacy? And the blur fest of MK1? My jaw is sealed firmly shut.
Sounds like prestiging in an idle mobile game. If it ramps under your underlying skill set to better, more quickly dominate to where you were, then it’s a really innovative idea.
The controls on a switch pro controller for extreme g are abysmal… why haven’t they allowed ANY quality of life upgrades like - I don’t know - REMAPPING buttons????
@SBandy1 I’m letting my membership lapse this year after the goldeneye controls fiasco and still no sight of any decent titles. I mean where the hell is Gamecube? I would happily pay annual membership to have F-Zero X and GC Starfox in my library.
Your reviews have become unreadable thanks to cycling ads that resize and shuffle the article up or down constantly - I have to constantly relocate the passage I was reading. How irritating.
First two hours of play and I’ve had ONE battle… this game is SLOW and the story well trodden… I WANT to love it but I’m bored rigid waiting for the auto play of cutscenes to end.
There is something very iffy about all these critic reviews and the fact you can’t leave a user review on metacritic. Its increasingly likely money has changed hands.
Personally I’m finding this so dull I may stop playing.
EDIT: Stranded on level three with no option to replay an “undefeated boss” or grind to the level I need to be at to win this level. Effectively, I’m trapped. Terrible design choice to prevent return to played levels. Just awful.
Just played this for two hours. It’s excellent. Silky smooth, cool upgrades and every run is rewarding. If you like sky force, black paradox, neon abyss, steredenn, and other run type games… get this. I’m loving it.
Terrible pricing and mediocre game. Wait for rush rally origins and do yourself a favour. I’ve played both and it’s the far superior (and cheaper) game.
Does not work with stick control and the touch screen is too imprecise. In a word, unplayable. How you didn’t pan this game is beyond me. Must be mates with the devs I guess.
I spoke way too soon. This is chock full of bugs. Took me three attempts of actually exploring the difficult to navigate menus to get into a game without a screen lock up. Very disappointed.
Depth of Extinction received similar “average” reviews but I adore it, and the accessibility of games like this mean I dip back into them far more often than X Com, Mutant Year Zero etc. If I haven’t played for a month or two, I don’t want to have to relearn a game. Bravo for beautiful simplicity. Purchased.
@DashKappei for what it’s worth I love a decent bit of pixel art and children of morta has become one of my most played games over the last year - it really nails that one more try vibe. Even if it’s not discounted I’d say it’s a must own. REAL value for money.
@DashKappei Not fixed mate. Long since deleted. I bought Glam recently super cheap and that’s a far better game if you wanna scratch that itch. Shame, I really wanted to explore a world with those visuals but it plays so bad I thought it best to just put it out of sight, out of mind. Reviews are super suspect that’s for sure.
I would pay full price for a retrospective compilation alone. Nintendo arrogance means even then it’s still unlikely. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I’m the only one making an effort in this relationship.
The future just switched from being a promise to a threat. The music is pap, the resolution is poor and it’s waaaay too slow. I don’t want bullet hell. I do want to dodge slow moving bullets.
Edit: What really makes me want to punch myself in the face is the immersive intro - immediately followed by a fade to black - before your ship reappears precisely where it was. That is screaming out to be a continuous cut!
That feeling when you use two consoles and go back instead of forward is right up there with seeing a green dot on your Nintendo online icon and clicking only to meet everlasting, terminal, gut wrenching, tear jerking, soul destroying disappointment.
...and there you have it... this thread is precisely WHY Nintendo haven’t fixed the drift issue... if people keep buying where is their incentive?
I can’t quite believe what I’m seeing. This hardware is duff by design and because they’ve stuck some pound shop transfers on them people will stay throw cash their way. Wow, just wow.
Seems very unfair to mark down a game for not spelling all that out whereas cultist simulator and others actually get respect for making you figure it all out.
I learned all this by playing for about a two hours. This is at least a 7 or 8. It’s a good game.

Re: Rumour: Major Third-Party Devs Reportedly Sitting On Multiple Switch 2 Announcements
All they need to do is release every game we haven’t been able to play from the last ten years.
I’m holding off buying the S2 until I see this or exclusives begin to happen.
Re: Final Fantasy 9 Gets Some Gorgeous New Artwork, And It Has Fans In A Frenzy
My response to this news was so “frenzied” I had to be subdued by my neighbours and local law enforcement and given a sedative.

Lose the borders and improve the combat and I’m in. As it stands, it’s a shame they went this route because the word building looks great.

Strange there is no mention, nor any review, of Tamarak Trail which has already done this exact idea but with far superior art direction…

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library With Two More Titles
@vio that is the best news I’ve had all day, thank you. Will check it out. Now if only they would do the same with goldeneye!

It’s goldeneye all over again. Infuriating.

Re: Nintendo Reminds Us Advance Wars For Switch Is One Month Out From Release
Vastly overpriced, things have moved on, this is no longer unique enough to warrant premium pricing. Hard pass.

Gee thanks Nintendo. Zero marks for effort.

Check out the fake reviews on metacritic folks.
Ask yourself why that’s necessary if this is such an “excellent” game.
