The irony of "They couldn't be anything else" while a Zelda movie starts filming. I agree with him, which is why I'm not sure the Zelda film will work that well.
I find it odd that Nintendo's marketing can swing so wildly from one extreme to another - some games get such in depth coverage that it feels like there is little left to speculate on. Other games barely get 5 minutes of footage.
I am wondering if Nintendo is lacking confidence in Metroid. They don't want to spend the marketing budget and they haven't re-released Metroid Prime 2 and 3 which I would've thought would be the best way to get new players up to speed
Why must everything be part of a continuity? Is it not enough to just have fun stories and engaging games with characters we love without worrying about how it all connects together? Bananza's Pauline is just a different take on the character. That's it. It doesn't need to be part of some elaborate timeline.
It's a strange decision by Nintendo to force this on players. Why not give players the choice to play the way they prefer?
I feel like I'm in the minority here but I love the intermission sections. I love the sense of travel and crossing a map and it's what has given this entry in the series it's unique flavour.
Still, don't push this at the expense of a traditional 3 lap race! They are always fun too!
I like DF's content but so often I'm left questioning my own eyes! I often cannot see what the problem is. I do love the way they nerd out over tech though!
I have barely touched the Switch. But that's more because I'm playing PS5 more at the moment. When Switch 2 arrives the PS5 will get a break for a few weeks 😂
As someone who appreciates box art this is disappointing.
Are folk really paying so little attention to what they are purchasing that they need all that text and a red box on the front to ensure the correct purchase is made?
I'm enjoying the app and use it a lot but really wish we'd get 2 or 3 releases each time rather than 1. There is more than enough music for them to do that. Is it a resourcing thing at Nintendo? I'm imagining they have 1 person working on this app in a back office 😂
I hope they can inject a bit of life into the levels. I got as far as the casino level in the original and then abandoned the game. Something about the large, empty, static levels was off putting to me.
I'd like to see more enemies wandering around more npcs dotted about that you can interact with and more environmental work e.g wind blowing trees, butterflies on flowers, birds darting about. Basically, make the levels feel more alive.
I appreciate that is not easy, can be expensive and time consuming and this was originally a Kickstarter game but I really hope this remaster is the opportunity to add that layer of polish and immersion. Also, shorten load times!
Looking forward to this. Although surprised this is coming to switch. Civ 6 has horrendous load times and the switch really struggles with the late game.
How sad that we've got to the point in the industry where asking "will we get a physical release?" results in such a non answer. Surely just say yes or no!! This shouldn't be a big deal! We just want the game on a card in a box. That's it.
To be honest, they don't need the Zelda IP to make a great "Zelda" game. I love the games but really, Link is a blank slate and Zelda has never had much of a personality even in the more recent entries. And Hyrule has environments and biomes that are not unique to it (towns, mountains, swamps, forests caves etc).
If these guys have a great concept for a game then I say go for it and create your own characters and world but with the gameplay inspired by Zelda. The reason most people like Zelda is the gameplay first and foremost - the characters and world are secondary to compelling gameplay.
Although I admit the Zelda name will sell the game more easily than an unknown IP nevermind the gameplay.
So just animate it then!! You cannot replicate the vibes of studio Ghibli in a live action form because the vibes of studio Ghibli ARE the artform. Animation is at its best when it's whimsy and exaggerated because that is precisely what can't be done (or looks silly) in live action.
Just think about all the live action Disney remakes that get slammed for not having the charm or artistry of the originals. It's precisely because they changed the artistic medium.
I absolutely love Zelda. And Spirited Away is my favourite movie. But even I don't want to see these two things mushed together.
Honestly not sure about this. Animation feels like a more appropriate medium for a Zelda film.
Live action Zelda could come across looking camp or cheesy.
I'd love Laika to do a stop motion Zelda interpretation. You could be super creative in the art direction. Zelda games have always stood out with their different art styles.
I've got until June 22nd to get as far as I can in Tears of the kingdom (game time is limited with 2 young kids in the house). Then Final Fantasy 16 arrives and it'll probably get its claws in to me.
I absolutely loved streetpass back in the day. I was in the right place for it and got maxed out on hits every day for years. Stopped playing when I picked up a switch (as many clearly did). It was a quirky little app that just oozed Nintendo charm. Seeing everyone's Miis drop into your console was always fun. Good times.

Re: The Superb 'Mario Galaxy 2' Soundtrack Has Been Added To Nintendo Music
A great addition. The Mario Galaxy soundtracks are some of my favourite Nintendo scores. Love the grand orchestral vibe they went for
Re: Nintendo Announces First Cast Members For The Legend Of Zelda Movie
Still concerned this film will look a bit cheesy. Like high budget cosplay. The games have distinct art styles. They never go for photo realism.

I'm a backer for this. It's been so long I often forget though! Hoping it does still come to switch as I pledged for a physical switch copy!
