I can’t wait to play the arcade version of Turtles In Time again. Although the SNES version was a great conversion there was still so much missing. The arcade version is amazing.
@SteamEngenius rose tinted glasses and blurry eyed nostalgia?…..either that or people are just more comfortable spending money on something they are familiar with. It’s like watching a film on tv that you’ve seen 100 times before even when you know there’s stuff on other channels to watch.
@HollowSpectre maybe it’s because of our age but we always go back to the older games, maybe it’s because they actually are better as they’ve stood the test of time or maybe it’s just that terrible disease called nostalgia. I think growing up in the golden age, the arcades, 8 bit / 16 bit, magazines, no internet, true generational leaps in consoles etc. has maybe spoiled us or maybe I’m just looking at it through the rose tinted glasses of youth!
Nintendo would be insane to even think about new hardware right now. Give us Zelda 2, Bayonetta 3, Odyssey 2, Metroid 4, Donkey Kong etc etc…..the list of software that people want is endless in order to keep selling Switch consoles
@GrailUK no chance, cancelling this year is a sign of the times. The pandemic is over so they aren’t even using that as a reason, they’re simply isn’t enough content to justify a show.
@GrailUK E3 won’t ever be coming back, with things shifting towards digital faster than anyone predicted and less games from big publishers it’s dead in the water.
I think late June early July probably showcasing Splatoon 3 and hopefully a Bayonetta 3 release date and maybe a surprise 1st party title. I think Advance Wars is as good as shelved now so we need something more instead of just Pokemon games, albeit they are a safe bet for Nintendo and a license to print money.
Although we can make out April, the 4 turtles and Splinter on the character select screen, there’s a deliberate dark area, I’m guessing we’ll get to play as Casey Jones too or maybe even Yojimbo the samurai rabbit. Just give us a release date!!
This is the underbelly of business unfortunately. Big money and investment comes from corruption and truly terrible people. I wouldn’t step foot in that country if you paid me……backward thinking and medieval ideologies.
@Ulysses yes, it’s all just filler to push the price up. The stuff in the artbooks that Limited Run usually put out are just images you can find in a quick Google search. All the extras are just Christmas cracker quality tat.
Do you know what semi-permanently means? It doesn’t mean anything because it’s not proper English. The word that should’ve been used was ‘temporarily’…..is anyone proof reading these articles these days?!
If anything, it proves we don’t need new hardware. There’s countless great games on the Switch and unless you’ve got very deep pockets and hours upon hours of time to play games there’s no way you can’t find something to play. It’s Nintendos finest hour without doubt.
@SteamEngenius Nintendolife are just paraphrasing his book…..I imagine we’ll get umpteen more articles along the same lines yet. I’d rather see reviews on here to be honest but they’ve all up dried up.
F-Zero, Wave Race, Pilotwings, Starfox, Yoshi are all great IP that Nintendo could bring back yet we get garbage like Mario Golf, Switch Sports and an endless glut of Pokemon games.
I’m genuinely amazed Limited Run actually invested their own money in something, I’m surprised people didn’t have to buy an entry ticket 6-12 months in advance!
A release date for Shredders Revenge would be great but unlikely to happen.
Silksong has disappeared completely since a feature in Edge magazine around 2 years ago so I’m guessing it’s stuck in development hell.
I’d personally love to see a 3rd Ori game or a sequel to ‘A Short Hike’ or an indie first person shooter along the lines of Modern Warfare.
Shredders Revenge, Capcom Fighting Collection & Capcom Arcade Stadium 2 are the ones I’m looking forward to most.
Splatoon 3 if it reviews well and of course Bayonetta 3 are both on my radar but I have a feeling Bayonetta 3 might slip to next year.
I’d like to see another big 1st party game announced for this year too as Nintendos release schedule is looking sparse.
@RubyCarbuncle I miss those times too, everything was simpler back then or that’s how it seemed but maybe now we just have the complications of being an adult.
If you played 8bit games in 80s then you knew about Ocean and their logo is, to this day, still iconic.
Cabal, Target Renegade, Midnight Resistance, Rainbow Islands, Robocop, Batman, Operation Wolf….the list is endless.
Very sad new this.
Awesome little thing and held value well. It was just Nintendo being super clever and having some fun with what was essentially outgoing hardware yet they knew it would have appeal. In reality you could argue that it’s the only real true portable console as it truly is pocket size.

@Serpenterror but there were so many more extra graphical touches

Re: Soapbox: Free Game Updates Are Fantastic For Everyone, Except New Players
I understand this…..just save all the content and make Dead Cells 2. After all, you wouldn’t start watching Friday 13th at part 7

Re: EA Reportedly Pursuing Sale Or Merger
@Moistnado maybe it’s because I’m getting older ( 47 ) or because gaming simply isn’t as good as it used to be.
Re: EA Reportedly Pursuing Sale Or Merger
I think after Shredders Revenge and Bayonetta 3 I’m getting out of gaming….it’s just never been so less exciting than it is right now.
