It’s got that awful Megadrive colour palette though. Say what you like about the Super Famicom version but at least it captured the feel of the arcade game.
The best thing to do if it’s released ( and it’s the N64 version without any technical upgrades ) is to keep your expectations very low. It’s dog rough by todays standards.
@rjejr well it’s not been released and not so much as a screenshot been seen so the moral of the story is don’t believe everything you read…..and no, I’m not new here. I’m 47 and been gaming for around 40 of those years. Miyamoto was obviously referring to the 3DS game or Pikmin Bloom as no developer would sit on a game this long if it was ready ( unless of course it was complete garbage ).
IF we have any Direct I imagine it’ll be focused on Splatoon 3, Mario Strikers and the new Pokemon games…….there’s literally nothing else on the horizon.
Metroid 4 - vapourware.
Silksong - vapourware, simply because if you go back and look how Hollow Knight was previewed we’ve had nothing of the sort with Silksong.
Bayonetta 3 - delayed.
Breath Of The Wild 2 - delayed.
The latest Sony State Of Play disappointed big time and I think it’s just a reflection of things to come in the industry……fewer and fewer big releases and release dates that are, quite literally, years away.
As a long time gamer who grew up in the golden age gaming just seems to be getting less exciting each day.
People constantly hankering after new hardware yet we don’t have enough software for the current consoles.
We just live in a world of remakes, remasters and people constantly demanding the old games. Time to move on.
@dres I genuinely believe that the development of games for the PS5 & Xbox series X is just not attainable due to the timescales and huge number of people needed to create new software. Look at all the delays, unfinished releases, games requiring patches etc. Games are taking literally years to develop and getting announced way too early. I think we’ll hit a bottleneck where big title software releases all but dry up.
I’m guessing this is going to be released in an incomplete state again….just 4 playable characters? those on foot sections we briefly see look dreadful. Just give us Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition for Switch.
I’d like to hope that LRG are announcing their closure. Awful company, terrible customer service and shipment dates of games that are way out of the realms of what is acceptable.
Looks like some kind of tech demo littered with technical issues. The environment looks incredibly sparse and drab and gameplay looks very uninspiring and limited. I’m calling it that it’ll get 5/10 Breath Of The Wild still looks infinitely better than this.
@KBuckley27 it’s probably not finished but it’s at a state where they can release it and then by saying there’s free DLC at a later date makes it look as if the customer is getting something for free. Just means they can hit a release date and then continue working on it.
@Dezzy70 thank you…..so many people are blindsided by wanting better performance but at what cost - we’re already seeing games announced years before they’re released and at the end of the day we won’t ever see a true generational leap in hardware ever again like the days of going from SNES to N64.
@Polley001 largely agreed by who? Upgrading to new hardware right now would be business suicide. Look at the PS5 for example, apart from remakes there’s literally nothing released for it on a month by month basis because development costs and timescales are just too high.
We don’t need new hardware, there aren’t enough first party titles produced for the Switch. More powerful hardware means longer, more expensive development times, delays, unfinished games hitting the shelves etc etc.
Batman Returns, Sparkster, Ninja Warriors Again, Muscle Bomber, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Turtles In Time, Super Parodius and Sunset Riders all confirmed for tomorrow.
Read the preview of this in Retro Gamer and was initially looking forward to it but now seeing it in action it all looks a little bit lacklustre, the animations being particularly poor.
My best approach is to check the new releases once a week, any I like add to my watch list whilst I wait for reviews then use the ‘wish list’ feature on DekuDeals to notify me of any games I’m looking for that go on sale. There’s no point trying to trawl through the entire eshop as the further down the page you scroll the slower it gets until it does literally come to a standstill.

Arcade Stadium volume 2 please.

@rjejr Pikmin 4 was never a thing though, it’s just a rumour that some journalists took as canon and said it was in development / completed.

Re: Check Out The First Gameplay Footage For Wreckfest On Switch
Looks good in motion but I remember the Destruction Derby games on the original PlayStation were pretty shallow affairs.
Re: Random: You Won't Be Able To Access Your Animal Crossing Island By 2061
I think most people got fed up with it after 2021 so it’s nothing to worry about.

Looks a bit drab and generic….I love the bright colours of the older Sonic games.

Gaming as we used to know it is dead and that’s not a good thing.
Re: Review: Kao The Kangaroo - Rough Edges Can't Ruin This 'Roo's Return
@RubyCarbuncle for a first person shooter it’s ideal but not really for a slower paced 3D platformer.

@RubyCarbuncle why on earth would you want to play this type of game in 140 fps?!!
Re: Soapbox: Dragon's Dogma Is A Janky, Weird, Ageing RPG, And Everyone Should Play It
It’s currently about £8 on the UK eshop, an absolute bargain.

@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed I’m completely calm! You’re right, there isn’t anything wrong with it but it’s not the be all of gaming.
Re: Reggie Shares Thoughts On How Nintendo Can Prepare For The Switch's Successor

I bet people who preorder this can’t wait to play it 6 months after it’s available digitally!
