Re: It’s Official: The Switch Online Service Has Surpassed 10 Million Subscribers

Morrow

We need the ability to interact with the community in some form or another. Messaging system, and through groups like Ps4, or Miiverse like U and 3ds. The latter being more appealing. ACTUAL party chat built in, not trash phone app. The phone app should be used only for creative purposes like Smash World, or SplatNet. Those are good uses of the app. However, voice chat should be native to games, and not force an app on us.

Coming from someone who uses Discord a lot, you still need voice chat built in, if you want an easier time making new friends online.

Re: Capcom Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of Monster Hunter With Epic Video Feature

Morrow

@LuluXfire64 No one can argue EA isn't bad. Actually you can because a few of the previous titles were handheld, and at full price they were 40$.

I'm not saying they said that in quotes, I'm saying with how they hyped World, they made it seem like it would be a fresh new start besides graphics.
That's just bad marketing if the only reason they chose the name World was because of Worldwide launch. Yes, that's an important feat, but titles that add words besides numbers (like Xenoblade Chronicles 1, X, 2) need to make sense based on what's in the game. Zelda Skyward Sword as an example----Makes perfect sense. Skyloft is lands in the sky, and the master sword was crafted there----Skyward Sword. Halo Reach or Halo 3 ODST---Reach game takes place on Reach. Makes sense. 3 ODST is about the ODST team. Makes sense.
If it's numerical, it doesn't need to make sense all the time, but if they add words to it, it needs to make sense. Using the wrong words could make implications that your title doesn't live up to.

Like I said, It's not just me. There is a group of MH fans who felt underwhelmed by what they delivered based on how it was marketed. Some people may be happy, but not all are.

Gestures that were always in the main games before without DLC. That's the issue. They are purposely taking OUT content from the base game, to monetize it. Again, I'm not the only one upset by it.

I hope MH6 is a lot better than World, and doesn't overhype it like this one did. You know, MH never had problems with advertising till World. You always knew what you were getting with MH games. With World it made confusions. Some people like you knew what they were getting. However, some people who took it more literal, like me, was confused by the marketing.

Marketing should always be clear and concise to not invoke confusion. Unless your Kojima because apparently his name is good enough for most people. Death Stranding looks lame so far. All we seen was you being a delivery boy for some reason and hitting some dudes.

Re: Capcom Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of Monster Hunter With Epic Video Feature

Morrow

@LuluXfire64 Just once, I wish someone would read the details of my comment instead of skimming through it.
I said MOST of the dlc was original or used their IPs. I am well aware they made SOME collabs. Like Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, exc.

Did you seriously just use the excuse of 'but they gotta pay for employees!' ? So does every company on Earth, lol. Can't give them special treatment for that.

Also, I'm well aware about the originals vs their remakes/Gs. However, the World was supposed to be MH made in a whole new direction. They made it seem like there will be no MH World G, just World. With that in mind, if it can't pass up a G game, it's sad. You think a game with the title 'World' would have the most, or at least a lot of monsters to hunt, since yah know, that is the point of the series. It didn't really live up to the title.

Not a kid, but thanks for assuming, lol. Not entitled, just stating the obvious. God forbid a company keeps all their content in the game that used to be included, instead of monoploizing it in every way they can.
Also, no. They gave them a decent amount based on how the article worded it. They didn't pay for it to be exclusive, just helped fund it. Which isn't something they normally do at all.
NIS stated Sony never gave them a single dollar in funding since their initial support in 2004.

Also, Capcom well made the money back on sales alone. It sold 14 million copies.

Not buying it a second time? Iceborn alone actually does if we use the handheld titles as examples. MH3U and MH4GU were 40$. Iceborn is 40$. That's basically buying it a second time.

Hey, if you want to see Capcom turn into Activision, that's all you. They are well on that road, and have been before World. They have been making crappy business practices that benefit them, but not the consumers.

Long and short:I had high hopes based on how they were hyping this game up, and I wasn't the only one. Sure lots of people love World, including veterans. However, there is also a sizeable amount, who don't like it. Idk all the reasons they don't like it, but I know some are grouped up with me. Over hyped and underwhelming.

The game looks and plays great, there was no question of that. However, when comparing to previous entries, it falls short in important areas.

Re: Capcom Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of Monster Hunter With Epic Video Feature

Morrow

@LuluXfire64 They added free monsters because World had some of the least amount of monsters in the series LOL. World Originally had 24 big Monsters, now at 31. Know how much 3 Ultimate had? 51 large monsters. 51! That's almost double of what MHW had.

Also no, that's not the reason we got free dlc. Because most of the dlc didn't have themes, only some of them did. Also, notice how most of those themed dlc were Capcom titles. Who makes MH? Capcom. They own those IPs, it doesn't cost them to use their own stuff, lol.

The free dlc in the series never needed new monsters, because they were never short on them, unlike World.
Poses were always apart of the game, now you pay for poses. Oh so you think it's okay right? Alright, go spend 120$ on the paid dlc, to prove me wrong. Because that's how much all the dlc will get you.
You know what? I could almost forgive them charging for Iceborn, if they didn't already try to shill out 120$ in b***s*** dlc that never needed to be paid.
Sure, you could argue maybe it was because it costed a lot more to make, and that's why I could barely just call Iceborn as passable for that reason. *H*owever, did you know Sony GAVE money to the MH team, to help them make it what it is? It was assumed they did this because they thought it could help move Ps4 sales, which it did. Also, it's Capcom. They are a big company. A big company, got money from a HUGE company.
So no, it's not good enough to justify all that trash dlc.

Edit: Also, if we are adding Iceborn to the dlc list, that 120 becomes 160$. Simply outrageous. With how bad they are pricing for dlc, people could joke about how it could be an Activision game. That company knows how to shill out money. Funny enough, Activision is making the newest call of duty free dlc instead of it's hefty season passes it almost always uses on it's games.

Re: Nintendo Focusing On Switch Install Base To Combat Next-Gen Performance Gap

Morrow

Nintendo is never going to be on par in power with any gen system it's competing with, because graphics are never their goal, and that's a good thing. Gameplay and entertainment are their first priorities.
However, they will always make it powerful enough to make slightly lesser quality ports be possible to arrive on the platform. I think that's good enough. I'm happy with how successful Switch has been in both first party and 3rd party support.

Re: Level-5 Announces Yo-Kai Watch 4 Western Release At The 2019 Anime Expo

Morrow

Yo-Kai Watch always seemed too...Pokemon ish for me to be interested. Digimon created it's own Identity over the years, especially with Cyber Sleuth series and the new Digimon Survive, both straying away from it's super family friendly atmosphere. YKW-4 seems more of my style, where it's a balance of being meant for both older and younger generations of gamers. The story seems darker, the gameplay is better, and it has a nice looking expansive world to it. Very much looking forward to 4!

Re: Nintendo Has No Plans To Censor Video Games Like Sony

Morrow

@JR150 Thank the move to California for that. SJWs are very common in that area and honestly are probably in Sony of California. However, they censored a few games on Ps4 under the radar before the move, so I had a feeling a policy like this was going to come eventually. They are just too anti-consumer now and have become a fraction of what they once were. (Ps1-Ps2 era) Now only the extreme die hard fans are staying, because I have seen many Sony fans, myself included, get ride of their Ps4 after all this policy bs.

Re: Review: World End Syndrome - A High School Summer Holiday Murder Mystery Love-In

Morrow

If you like visual novels, this is not one to skip. It's story is pretty good and could be compared to Grisea VNs or Death Mark. It handles the dark themes in a interesting way and has a unique animation style. I'd easily say this is one of the best VNs I ever played, and the game isn't too short like most VNs either. To get the true reveal of who/what the evil is, you have to get all 5 char romance endings (provided you don't make the wrong choices and get you or them killed).

Re: Sony Doesn't See Nintendo As A Major Rival, More Worried About Microsoft Next Generation

Morrow

L.O.L. Nintendo has been around longer than Sony, and they think the majority of users on Nintendo are kids? There are a ton of Nintendo gamers 18-40's. I'm in my mid 20's, and I'm mainly a Nintendo gamer with Steam on the side every now and then. Sure, Nintendo Switch has some family friendly games that kids can play, but they also have a lot of T-M games for a more mature audience.
Dear Sony, anyone who would go to another platform instead of yours, is a competitor.

Re: Nintendo Has No Plans To Censor Video Games Like Sony

Morrow

Nintendo became the saviors of gaming for both indie and mature content. I hope Ps5 sells so bad that they put the headquaters back to Japan, where it belongs, so Sony can get away from this censorship policy. They will make changes IF they lose enough money. Money makes companies listen to consumers more than anything else.

Re: Bandai Namco Announces God Eater 3 Switch Demo, Will Support Local Multiplayer

Morrow

@Chunkboi79 It never had much of a marketing budget to begin with, even on Ps4. Although they are marketing better on Switch, since it even got a TV commercial.
It has a similar style to MH, but it plays a lot differently too. It is much more story driven, much more fast paced combat, better char creation, and more weapon options.
If you like MH, you'll love GE. Just don't expect it to play the same.

Re: Sega Not Worried About Overwhelming Audiences With Retro Content

Morrow

@HammerKirby Sonic Generations screwed up my fav char, Silver, so that game got blacklisted for me. Colors didn't play yet, and Mania is too close to playing the classic games to the point where I don't see a difference. The old games were fun when I first played them, but now I want a different experience that doesn't suck.
Is Colors really as good as everyone says it is? Silver may be my fav, but I hate Sonic 06 like everyone else. I think playing so many bad games made me worried to play Colors.

Re: Sega Not Worried About Overwhelming Audiences With Retro Content

Morrow

Just. Let. Sonic. Die. PLEASE.

Unlike Mario who's games are always fun and good gameplay, and who had a legendary title of Mario Odyssey, Sonic keeps popping out bad game after bad game.

SEGA, it's time to make a new mascot. Maybe Yakuza? Now there's a good mascot idea. Or maybe Ethan Waber from Phantasy Star Universe? He is basically the face of Phantasy Star. Having Ethan as a mascot could make P.S. more known to the public, thus increasing the amount of people who would play the P.S. games.

What do you guys and girls think would be a good new mascot for SEGA?

Also, I don't hate Sonic. It's just hard to love the guy after seeing and playing so many bad games. I'd rather just watch Sonic Underground and Sonic X than play the games.

I acknowledge that Sonic Racing is decent---but it's pitted up against Crash Team Racing and Mario Kart. Which I prefer the latter of CTR and MK over SR.

Re: Feature: The Best Movie Licences On Nintendo Systems

Morrow

Idc what anyone says, Alien Isolation is a damn good Alien game. My only issues with it is that you could only play as Ripley and that you couldn't kill the Alien, only scare it off.
I feel like if they mixed Colonial Marines with Isolation, they could get that perfect gameplay balance of horror and action. (Yes colonial Marines was a bad game, but the gameplay wasn't that bad. It was mainly just the story and bad AI that ruined it.) I like the games that center around the Marines. Because everyone expects them to die.

Re: First Footage Of Milla Jovovich's Monster Hunter Movie Breaks Cover

Morrow

Ugh. Transported to antother world trope in a live action movie is just painful. Remember the super Mario Bros live action movie where they got transported to Mushroom Kingdom? Member? You member.

Also, let me guess, she is going to somehow require no training in the MH world, purely because she's a soldier in the real world? Pffft. Sorry honey, but being a monster Hunter is way more taxing than being a normal soldier irl. Of course that's to be expected. You're fighting GIANT MONSTERS THAT PUT TANKS TO SHAME. But nah, I'm sure her military training is all she needs. Rolls eyes
Why didnt they just make a normal MH story? They could have just made her be a huntress in the MH world, and have no real world. It would have made it much better than the transport bs and know how to kick ass automatically. I know it's not out yet, but I bet you that's exactly how it's going to play out.

Re: Some History About Saber Interactive, The Developer Porting The Witcher 3 To Nintendo Switch

Morrow

@Filth_Element I'm neither, lol. I think the real issue is you're prob one of those Sony elitests where 'sony can do no wrong.'
Many people agree with my statement, so it's not like it's unpopular. I'm not talking about people I know too. I'm talking about going on various message boards and YouTube videos.
The truth is the truth, you just don't want to admit it.
Normal 360 had the entire game on the discs. If PS4 used the same discs as 360, then it would be impossible. However, when PS4 came out they went to Blu-ray. If you truly believe that the games can't be fully compressed on the disc, you are being the mindless drone they want you to be. I would agree with you that it's fully physical IF the install was optional. Sadly, it's not. So I can never agree with you.

Re: Some History About Saber Interactive, The Developer Porting The Witcher 3 To Nintendo Switch

Morrow

@rjejr No, I don't switch anything. I was bringing up various things as comparisons, not changing. It was on Ps4 and Xbox, I know. But forced installs prevent it from being a true physical because you are having to install portions of the game onto the consoles. If it was truly physical, it wouldn't need any installs, it would be all on the disc. The installation would be optional if it was truly physical, but it's not.
It's almost as bad as partial physical on Switch carts from AAA, where you have to install half the game, because only half is on the cart.
So, I say you're wrong.

Re: Review: Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization Deluxe Edition - A Solid JRPG That Anime Fans Will Appreciate

Morrow

@tobibra Are you talking about like spa scenes where it covers full nudity? Full nudity (showing nipples, genitalia, bare ass, exc) automatically makes it an AO, Adults Only, rating---basically, a sex game. That stuff will always be censored on consoles, because sex games aren't allowed on console platforms.
The annoying thing is, this AO rule only applies to Japanese games apparently, because stuff like The Witcher 3 isn't censored at all.
