@FTL Ah, yeah. I misunderstood what you meant on the first part, my bad. However, you missed the point I made about Nintendo always keeps their consoles at [affordable price ranges]. I said that it is impossible -Without- making it expensive. The portable screen looks beautiful by itself. Sure it could look better, but the cost wouldn't be worth it. Know how much I payed for my smartphone? 30$. I don't care about some super expensive phone that has some lame LCD screen just to play mobile games, lol. The Switch is the most powerful portable console, while still being a home console too. (meaning vita, 3ds, new 3ds--not comparing it to smartphones.) Sure, Sega has had some good ideas, but overall, they make so many bad choices (past, present, and certainly future) that it's just not worth it to mimic their choices. Nintendo shines best when they make their own choices. Certainly they do fail at times, but unlike some companies, they learn from their mistakes and come back stronger the next time. I like Nintendo for being original and creative.
@Dogorilla They are, but it isn't made by Nintendo, so it's not a first party game. It's second party. Second party defines when a company made a deal with a developer to make an exclusive game/series, without owning them. (bayonetta as an example) It can also be for exclusive content---like Dragon Quest 11 S, where it will be getting exclusive dlc the other platforms wont.
@FTL Hardware and software has improved dramatically since those days. one game now costs up more space than like 50 classic games. It would be impossible to put an entire system of games built into a portable device these days. Not to mention, flat screens weren't around in the early 90s. TVs back then looked like trash compared to flat screens we have now, so it's also impossible for a portable screen to pump out more power than a tv, without it costing an extreme amount of money. Nintendo always likes to have affortable consoles so the standard HD of 720p portable was unavoidable. That being said, they made the HD rumble, which is an extremely underrated feature that most companies don't take advantage of. Play Valkyria Chronicles 4, or Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and you'll see what I mean about how good the HD rumble is. I do think the Wii U had more features with it's system than Switch, but it was a crappy system overall because it lacked games, and it forced the gamepad support for most games. Also, Sega is now a third party company that mainly only makes Sonic games, while Nintendo is one of the 3 big giants. I don't think they should follow anything Sega did. I think Nintendo's biggest problem is fixing the online and the online app, not the switch itself.
@CrazyZelda79 From a western 3rd party you are right, I won't argue there. However, from a Japanese third party stand point, most games do have physical. Like I said it's mainly only Idea Factory(all branches of Iffy), and Bandai Namco US. The US branch of Bandai Namco is trash man. Physical for this game, digital for that game. They can't make up their minds.
@CrazyZelda79 What are you talking about? Almost every game Nintendo announced has a physical copy. There is way more physical games than digital only games (from bigger companies, not indie). The only notable company that has been dishing out digital only releases is Compile Heart/Idea Factory. That's not on Nintendo though, that's on Iffy(idea factory). You can't expect Nintendo to self publish every single game that is announced for their platform. They are only going to publish the more heavy hit titles, like Astral Chain, and Dragon Quest 11 S. Bandai Namco has released a few titles digital only, but also released some physical too. Also, the ones Bandai Namco announced will be digital only for the US, such as SAO Hollow Realization, and World End Syndrome has a physical version in Europe, which can be pre-ordered and imported from Play-Asia, or Amazon. I pre-ordered both on Play-Asia, because I wasn't going to support a digital only west release. Don't like digital only titles? Buy the physical games, and don't buy the digital ones. You really are seeing something that's not there, because most major company games have had a physical release. Unless you are talking about the western games? Yeah, those games have a real issue of either being a digital code, or only half on the cartridge. Again, that's on the company who makes the games, not Nintendo. Western developers are way more greedy than the Japanese developers, so you are always going to see them pulling the cheapest options possible.
I'm very happy with the Switch. It has been dominating, and is easily the best Nintendo system ever made. I may have fond memories of past systems such as N64, Gamecube, and Wii---but they pale in comparison to the very balanced lineup of E-M games on Switch. Plus being able to switch from tv play to portable play is one of the best features a console lover could ask for. I don't even really care for handhelds that much, and I still love playing the Switch portable.
Xenoblade 1, and Xenoblade X have achievements, and those are Nintendo IPs (made by Monolith Soft--who is owned by Nintendo). They were very fun to go after, and I am still aiming after 100% both Xenoblade 1 and X. The fact that Xenoblade 2 lost the achievements, made it feel more dull compared to the first two. Achievements are like mini missions, getting a sense of accomplishment by doing things that would normally make you go "oh well F#^K that.". Nintendo definitely should make achievements for their games. It would get people to play their games longer, who have already done everything in the game.
@Tantani @Strumpan I don't want to support 3ds because they got rid of so many features on it. (screenshots, miiverse, notepass, messaging) That's why I'd rather get a DS. Can't remove what was never there. I like taking screenshots, so it's not something I can ignore, knowing they once had it.
Don't believe this review about the headline. It's nothing like dark souls. It has some challenging parts, but it has a fast combat system that you can use to beat the boss on the first try. Monster Hunter has some slight comparisons though, as you can jump ontop of the giant monsters to do damage/stun them (just like monster hunter [4, GU, & World]). If you aren't taking it serious, it can punish you, but if you can use your reflexes to make good use of the fast combat---or timing, you should be fine.
@Heavyarms55 Thank god that third party messaging app is coming to switch for real messaging and voice chat. Most games are already being updated to support it, such as Paladins and Arena of Valor.
@Desa Just be aware that the local multiplayer for God Eater 3 is LAN only, not split-screen. You will need two switches, and two copies of the game to play with your brother.
@Lord I'm prob one of the few who haven't touched the online yet with MHGU. I want to beat all the single player missions before I touch multiplayer, lol.
I was already planning on getting physical, but I like how they added that as a nice bonus. YOU GET YOURSELF A NICE BONUS! (Resident Evil 5 players prob know the joke I just made there.)
I think the lawyers should get involved. If you wanted to remake Link's Awakening to it's original style, you should have done it before Nintendo announced they were remaking it. And it seems like they're trying to sell it off as a physical cartridge? That's illegal. It's like the Soulja Boy console all over again. Also, if Link's Awakening was made in true HD, the remake that Nintendo showed off, is what it would look like today. Idk why people are unhappy on it. Reminds me of the Wind Waker complaining, and now look at how popular that game is. It's rude to try and take sales away from a game by making a version you prefer. Well, I'm sure it will get shut down like most fan games. So hey, if they want to waste their time on a copyrighted game, and have their work taken down, go for it.
@Heavyarms55 Ah, alright then. Lol, you must have a laid back boss. I swear dude, sometimes I think workers should be allowed to leave when they want, as long as they put a good amount of hours in, and accomplished what they were asked to for the day. Although that would mean less hours, so less pay. You just can't win either way, lol.
@Heavyarms55 Yep! It's up on the steam store now, but it's not for purchase yet. It says you still need an Xbox live account to play though. I still say it's worth it. You should delete that comment though, so people don't try to spam add you. I already sent my FR.
@Heavyarms55 Yeah, it did, and got recalled to become an M rating. Much like Gal Gun on the back was rated E, while on the front, it was rated M. Although, that misprint stayed, lol. Well, now we can get a chance to play them again, since Master Chief Collection coming to Steam. I'll definitely buy it. Hey, you wanna add each other on Switch?
@Heavyarms55 Oh yeah, I remember that. It was pretty stupid. Yeah, censorship wouldnt have to be a thing if parents would watch their damn kids or use parental controls. My mom didn't allow me to play M games until 16. Before that was just E and T games like Zelda and Final Fantasy. I think growing up like that allowed me to appreciate more genres than I might have tried if I could play M games at a young age. Now I'm in my 20s and barely play M games, lol. Mainly jrpgs for me.
@Heavyarms55 It's Xbox too, but you are right. The ratings board of directors such as ESRB in all countries unanimously agreed to prevent rated A for 'Adults Only' games to be sold on store shelves, or console markets. Even digital doesn't allow it. However, apparently for violence, AO is allowed on digital. There is a horror game coming to switch eshop with an apparent A rating. The story deals with a lot of mental diseases. However, since the game isn't out yet, it could be toned down to an M rating. I do agree with you. It's stupid that violence is okay but nudity isn't. Its just a game people, lol.
@IceEarthGuard No, America is okay with full nudity...when it's Western games like Far Cry or Metro. JP however isn't. Multiple companies and even the Japanese Rating Software Board have released statements about not allowing full nudity on platforms (meaning consoles. PC is unaffected, and can sell any rating game). You might also not understand what full nudity is so here's an example:Senran Kagura is fine because no nipples is shown. The nipples only show on the PC modded version, which can sell even sex games, hints why that's allowed on Steam/PC. Although you are right about the V/D part. That also isnt allowed. Breasts can be shown, but nipples can not. Panties or boxers can be shown, but V/D cannot. The ESRB and Japanese Rating Software Board both state that anything 'Adult Only' rating cannot be sold on console market place without censorship to block full nudity to make it M rated.
@Shane76 They could have Senran Kagura level nudity, but that's still considered partial nudity because it doesn't show the nipples in those games. The minute they do, AO game, and cannot be sold on the console market.
@BenAV full nudity isn't allowed in Japanese games, to be sold on the market. Full nudity in JP for games can only be sold on sex game distribution services. Anything considered an 'Adults only' rating, cannot be sold on any console market, including digital only. That's why it was censored, because it showed part of the nipples, causing it to become a 'AO' rated game.
@FlameRunnerFast I don't mind paying for dlc, but the issue is that MH never made you pay for dlc. THATS THE POINT. I bought Xenoblade 2 expansion pass day one, and bought BoTW dlc. I love both of them. Thats dlc done right. Yes, Nintendo never had dlc for these series, but that's fine. It's when the series has a staple ON Free Dlc that it becomes an issue when it brings paid dlc to the market. They screwed themselves because no matter what paid content they make, it makes it seems like they are trying to push money out of their fans. Especially when it's content found in previous games. Story paid dlc for MH? That's awful since the series is known for free dlc. Extra content for paid dlc? That's bad since the series is known for free dlc. Since they made the series always have free dlc for everything, anytime they make you pay for anything, it is a backstep of the series, because it's charging you for stuff that used to not be charged. Xenoblade and Zelda never had dlc before 2 and BoTW. That's why when they finally did make dlc, it can't be really considered back stepping because they didn't give free dlc as a series staple--they just never had dlc to begin with. I enjoy paid story dlc---As long as the series isn't know for free dlc---unlike the aforementioned MH. I honestly don't know another series that does free story dlc, so that's why I keep only mentioned MH. Also with Xenoblade and BoTW, they are fully complete games without the dlc. I'm 270 hours in 2 and I'm still on the main game.
@FlameRunnerFast If you don't see the problem, then you are part of the problem. I don't even care about it's dlc. I care about what that paid dlc -represents-. It is the first time that they are taking advantage of their fans. Smart people wouldn't buy it, but some people aren't good with money, and would easily pull money down on it. Some of that paid dlc is content taken FROM THE MAIN GAME! In the MHs before World, it has those poses/emotes. You didnt have to pay or even download those emotes/poses before, but now, low and behold, you do. World is a cancer stain on the MH series. They can't soften it up by giving out free dlc, because all other MHs got free dlc too, and they didn't have to pay for anything.
@FlameRunnerFast Those are remakes so they don't count. People pay full price for remakes that literally have no new content besides it having higher graphics. I don't mind the MH remakes, I hate the dlc. You can best believe they will remake MH World to MH World Ultimate. Or maybe this MH World showcase at the end is the remake. This paid dlc cannot be defended and you would be crazy for doing so.
@Spudtendo Not to mention MH World is the only one in the series to have PAID dlc. If you try to buy all the dlc, it will cost you 126 USD! That's insane. Especially since the series is known for it's always free dlc.
I already got mine pre ordered. I'm excited to get to play this. I like that they added an online mode! Gives more replay value for once the story is over.

Re: Capcom Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of Monster Hunter With Epic Video Feature
Re: Capcom Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of Monster Hunter With Epic Video Feature
Re: Capcom Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of Monster Hunter With Epic Video Feature
@Spudtendo Not to mention MH World is the only one in the series to have PAID dlc. If you try to buy all the dlc, it will cost you 126 USD! That's insane. Especially since the series is known for it's always free dlc.
Re: Fate/Extella Link Arrives On Switch In The West Next Week, Numerous Editions Available
I already got mine pre ordered. I'm excited to get to play this. I like that they added an online mode! Gives more replay value for once the story is over.
